Tired of the fluff? Want to read books that are ACTUALLY going to help you in life? Then this is the video you've been searching for. These books are not your average self-help books. They cover topics that everyone in their 20s should read to help them get ahead in life. Believe me when I say, these aren't books filled with fluff; they're incredibly practical and actionable.
After reading these 6 books in quarantine, not only was I motivated to start my own business, but I also felt better equipped to take on the adult world. These "self-help" books cover topics like how to deal with difficult people, how to escape the rat race, how to get the upper-hand in negotiation and so much more. There's even one on crime! All great things to know in your 20s.
So if you're looking for something to spice up your reading list, make sure to check out any of these six books. I was surprised at how quickly I got through these. As always, if you have any questions, leave them down below and I'll try to answer as many as I can.
I hope you enjoy these quarantine self help books and feel free to share with me any of your book recommendations :) Always love discovering new books.

Boglehead's Guide to Investing is a good one to read -- it keeps things nice and simple, with some historical statistics to back its advice.

Oh interesting, I haven't heard of it! I definitely have a lot of learning to do in the investing space so I'll take any help I can get.

It's crazy how true that is! Never Split the Difference definitely helped put it into perspective and also made me get comfortable with the idea of it. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by!

Favorite book is Not Fade Away by Peter Barton. Barton created one of the largest media conglomerates in Latin America but was soon diagnosed with terminal cancer, and it's his journey from businessman to dying man and recalibrating what's most important in life. It's very powerful and dense, I've re read it over 20 times, and in times of extreme doubt or uncertainty I always pick it up and leaf through it!

Oh wow that sounds like an intense story of trial and tribulations. I can't begin to imagine what that must have felt like. I love all these book recs I'm getting! I used to never buy books probably cause I read more fiction but now I want to have a whole library of important reads.

Love these books recs! I'd also recommend The Defining Decade by Meg Jay-it's specifically written for people in their 20s so it's SO helpful and relevant to the bigger decisions we're making in these years!

Okay favorite part is that you read The Secret... just given what we've been chatting about and how you've been more open minded to the concept of manifestation! So powerful that you were open minded and then able to kind of view the world and that concept differently. Please keep us posted on how it creeps its way into your life! :) I've also read Shoe Dog, How To Win Friends And Influence People, and Rich Dad Poor Dad. I think my favorite was Shoe Dog (love autobiographies!) but Alcatraz sounds so so good... I might pick that up. You clearly do lots of reading and I really value and respect that. Ugh the more I learn about you the more I'm convinced you're going to get there love. Keep it up! Really proud of your authenticity in these topics lately :)

I'm so happy that we connected! I really appreciate the support and encouragement we've been able to give each other. It's so helpful tbh and I just enjoy seeing you grow :) At first when I read The Secret I was like what am I doing LOL but then she convinced me and I was like oh damn ok gotta try this stuff out. I think it definitely takes some time but I love that it allows me to have a more positive attitude towards life. Shoe Dog is great and very insightful. It was just a longer book and the first time I started reading it, I just wasn't interested in the entrepreneurial space. Now that has completely changed obviously. I love true crime books. In Cold Blood is another good one.

Well thanks for checking it out! The great thing about Rich Dad Poor Dad is that it's also a short read so it's great for people who don't feel like they have much time to read. I, too, am a huge fan :)

Wohoo, glad I finally got around to it! Alcatraz from Inside seems to be a popular choice haha. It's a good one for sure

Alcatraz from Inside sounds like such an interesting book! My favorite book of all time is mans search for meaning by Victor Frankl, and it has a similar story! I've also heard a lot about 'How to win friends and influence people' but I've never gotten around to reading it - maybe soon though ! Great video, thank you for sharing some recommendations :)

I got my sister to read Alcatraz from Inside as well and she really enjoyed it! True crime books are always very interesting to me. I'll have to check out Man's Search for Meaning cause I think I'd like it. Another crime related book that I thoroughly enjoyed was In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Thanks for the recommendation!

ooo nice nice, I actually haven't heard of that one! John Bogle's book is definitely very informative as opposed to entertaining so just get ready for that haha but it is helpful

I haven't heard of it! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into it:) It sounds rather interesting. What was your favorite part about it?
@novaee_
@novaee_ 3 года назад
It is! Then let me know what you think about it ☺ My favorite part is when the author talks about 'personal tasks'. Basically everyone has their own task, for example, what you think of me is not my task but it is yours: you are the one creating an opinion about me, and I can't go inside your mind and think for you. So it's quite useless to think about what other think of us cause we can't do anything about it. I don't know if this makes sense, the book explains it way better haha It's really eye-opening, I really love it 🥰

New subscriber here! Excited to follow along your RU-vid journey!! Would love to support eachother; connecting with like-minded people is my favorite part of RU-vid!🧡 I LOVE the secret by Rhonda Bryne! That’s what got me into self improvement! And the dale carnegie book is also a classic too. I recommend “Atomic Habits” by James Clear!!!

Hey Zoe thanks for joining the community! It seems like we share similar content :) I love that! The Secret was definitely one of my more surprising reads but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I've heard a lot of people mention Atomic Habits so it seems like another goodie I need to read ASAP. Thanks for the recommendation!
