The Night Swim was a 5 star read for me last year. I never want to re read thrillers but this one I bought the book after listening to the audio book because I KNOW its one I want to reread and lend out to people. SO GOOD

Aaaah, I LOVE this! I did the whole “reading Booktubers’ favorite books of 2020” thing at the beginning of the year aaaaannnnd it didn’t go well for me. I wish I’d been watching your channel then because I’ve since read The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter and liked it much more than any of the other Booktubers’ books I read. The only Booktuber I think might jive with your tastes is Ellias, but purely based on that he reads a lot of thrillers too. Whoever you pick, I can’t wait for the next episode!

I straight up sobbed at the end of both The Weight of the Stars and Summer of Salt! I read them one right after another as well and it wrecked me!

I recommend the Six Stories series by Matt Wesolowski. It follows a podcast series (each book is a new series) where the main character investigates a cold case, I've only just finished the third book and the second was a little disappointing compared to books one and three but I'm desperate to carry on. The books all work as stand alones I think but do reference events from previous books

If you love thrillers with courtroom setting you should give thirteen by Steven cavanaugh a chance. I loved the night swim and Sadie as well and I haven’t seen any others like that.

I had the same experience with The Night Swim where I rated it a four, but then I re-read it a few months later and realized it was a 5-star book. I guess distance helps you appreciate how good of a reading experience it was.

Six stories is a podcast investigative book. A lot of interviews with people involved. I'm not sure if it's available as audio. But so good!

I live in the US and trials are the same here. The jury is sequestered during the trial and is not allowed to speak to the press (and possibly even their families…?). I’m not clear on the full extent of that, but they definitely could not be interviewed during the trial.

Ok, how can I get the audio in the UK for the night swim tried scrbd, audible, and library with no success. How did you manage it?

So I read the first like quarter of Summer of Salt last summer and unfortunately it was a DNF for me because I kind of felt like the writing and dialogue was cheesy and juvenile..... can anyone else relate? Now Meg rated it 3 stars so idk if I will ever finish unless someone can convince me to😂🤷‍♀️
