The American Girl books are such a throwback! I absolutely loved them as a kid and am so happy I still have them all. This video is making want to go back and read them again!

I used to have the old ratty mass market paperbacks of Anne of Green Gables before I 'ripped one open' to read the words hidden in the spine and broke the poor book. If you want an affordable collection by a publisher that has beautiful covers, I suggest getting the Arcturus editions that are in the box set. Not sure where you are but where I am, the entire series you can get for $20. I tried collecting the gorgeous Raincoast editions but they are out of print and impossible to find, which broke my heart until I realized that Arcturus (which is a British publisher) has the entire series in these beautiful covers. However, the covers that are in this video make me wish I could find those editions. They must be from an American publisher...

Hello, I just found you and enjoyed seeing your wonderful collection! Wow! I am so impressed! BUT I am proud to say I do have some that you don’t have. 😊Forgive my smugness here! But I have a complete collection of vintage hardbound Beverly Nichols, Angela Thirkell, Elizabeth Goudge, DE Stevenson, and Elizabeth Cadell. Now these are my loves. Also all the Betsy- Tracy books. Yea! Don’t we love these old friends!☺️😉😁🌷🌼

I have been meaning to read more of J.R.R. Tolkien and want to get a nice collection of his Lord of the Rings, and while the editions of the books in this video are absolutely gorgeous, they are extremely expensive where I am because they are considered collector's items. The next trip to the bookstore will probably have me purchase the paperback boxset of Lord of the Rings, the ones with the black covers. But the collection that are in this video are stunning and they seem more hardy with their leather covers than the paperbacks.

I love your updated intro! Your reading area is just so beautiful and cozy. Do you take the dust jackets off your books when you read them? Ooh, those Washington Irving books are gorgeous. Do you mind sharing the publisher/edition? I tried reading The Virginian (an Emma-made-me-do it book 😀) but I ended up DNFing it. I really wanted to like it.

If the dust jacket is in good condition, I usually just leave it on. I will take a look and let you know the Irving editions! And lol, that’s fun you tried it at least! You never know what book will speak to you. My mom loved The Virginian, but my dad couldn’t stand it.

Your collection of books are gorgeous. I see many editions of books that I want to get for my personal collection. Also, just wanted to say something about your American Girl collection... I have most of the Dear Canada books (which I think is similar to your American Girl books... Not sure), and I love having them out on full display because they are my absolute favourite childhood books even though the writing in them can be considered cringy, but I do love them so much. So don't feel ashamed about showcasing your American Girl books. I take it that they are similar to the Dear America/Dear Canada books?

Ahh that's such a hard question, I feel like they're all must reads! 😂 Shakespeare is so omnipresent in English language classics, I'd say he's a good place to start. The Iliad and the Odyssey are also so epic.

I love your library. There was another American Girl book that I had. Her name was Abby. I think I only had three of her volumes. Have you read any books by Miss Read? You might like those. There is another Book Tuber that you might like because you have books in common. Her name is Gina Stanyer. Check her out. Great video by the way.
