When I'm old, I wanna live in a large house with a custom made room JUST for a library, with a fireplace, hundreds of shelves, and maybe even a top floor. haha, it's kinda ridiculous, but I don't care. When I'm retired, I'm just going to sit in that room with my books, paints, sketches, and novels of my own and just relax. xD
Omg yesss, also I had a question about middle grade so I’m 14 and I’m really intrigued by some middle grades. Do you think I am too old to try them out?
Omg nobody ever talks about pillars of the earth! I read that book when I was 16 also, read it in a manner of a weekend. Had no clue what I was getting into and to this day it's still one of my all time favorite books! I re-read again a few years ago when I was 25.... And let's just say that I would not have allowed my 16 yr old self to have read this lol it's so big that there were so many parts I had completely forgotten about so it was as if reading it for the first time again. Also this book gave us Eddie redmayne which will always be a wonderful thing! Lol
I SCREAMED. THE SWEEP SERIES IS ONE OF MY FAVES and I only discovered it last year. Super super late but quickly became one of my favorites after binge listening to the audiobooks. I still need to finish the series so I’m trying to own the bind ups. Love them!
Video #104 and I loved the picture books and middle grade, but really I enjoyed the whole video. I can't believe I made it to the end of the video. I thought I was gonna give up and do something else, but here I am! Can't wait for another one of these. I would love for you to do a picture book haul and read a bunch of them in 24 hours or something like that, then talk about how you liked each book. Also, now I have a few of your picture books waiting to be bought on Amazon. I just need the money to make it happen! I'm on a book-buying ban this year, so the book-buying will come again in January. Thanks for making this video and posting it. I loved every second of it!!
I think we have two books in common 😂 i haven’t even heard of some of these. I really need to get back into reading, been in a bit of a book slump lately. I kept expecting to see my favorite book of all time, The Outsiders, on your middle age shelf seeing as its a school staple/required reading for many schools and i.m.o. just a classic book, but alas it was not. These bookshelves are such a mood. 😍
That Chronicles of Narnia though! Love it, I'm making it my mission to find one, it has the most gorgeous cover and now every other edition pales in comparison so I won't buy the books unless I find this edition haha
Your bookshelves/library are beautiful. I have 3 children, so I have bought a lot of children's books in the past 8 years - we get monthly Scholastic fliers from the school, plus the book fair and I usually check out the kids section at any bookstore. So many of the books I want just for the art and I am so drawn to some of the children's books because they are just so beautiful!
I worked my way through the video a bookcase at a time over the course of several days. I was surprised how many titles I hadn't heard of before, many were added to my TBR list. We share a lot of favorites. And the bookcases themselves were beautiful. Thanks!
I would love to see your upstairs bookshelf about writing craft books. As a fellow aspiring writer, I love seeing what people read to hone their craft! Great video.
I loved your first bookcase with the classics and special books from your family. I have books like that too. They are precious. I love plays and I became very intrigued about the play Alice and Peter especially since one of my favorite theater actors was in the play, Judi Dench, I marked it to buy. Thank you.
I know this was posted a long time ago, but I just found your channel today. And as I'm watching this video it reminded me when I was 17 I used to want to be accidentally locked inside of a library overnight. It was kind of a silly thought, but I was a bit of a bookworm in my teenage years as it was my escape. I wrote this amazing (or at least what I thought was amazing) romance novel that summer. It was about 300 pages long. One day my mom decided to go through my room and found it and she threw it in the fireplace. That was the last time I ever wrote a book but I still love reading them just as much. Thanks for the book review, and I really love the fact that you read all kinds of books and not just one type.
WHEW, ok, now that I’m over being rendered SPEECHLESS by that intro (❤️😱😭) we’ve always known this was gonna be an aesthetic video straight out of a fairytale, but your passions and enthusiasm is INFECTIOUS! Loved hearing you hush about all your favorite books, this made my heart so happy😄
Omg so this is basically my dream library with all of my favourite books plus my TBR plus sooo many books I've never encountered before but look and sound absolutely amazing! The dream😍 I'd love to think this was my bookshelf in some alternate universe☺️
YESSSS so agree with the Wicked Deep, and it was the first book I read for enjoyment after I finished Uni and it got me back into reading! The taste in this video is IMPECCABLE!
I am SO jealous of your bookcases and book collection! You have some real treasures. I totally agree about finding books at thrift stores, that’s one of my favorite places to buy books.
This is incredible. So far this is the only personal library I've seen in one of these bookshelf tours that surpasses mine. The dark shelves, ladder, arrangement of books - amazingly done. Jealous!
Oh my goodness this was amazing, you really know how to tell a story and make everything so warm and magical. Also those collectors/special edition books are beautiful and so special.
The Alan Bradley mystery series you mentioned is one of my favourite series ever. However, I did read them as a kid not knowing they were adult literature haha
What a beautiful home library! This is a dream I have since I was very little, to have a beautiful library just like yours! 💜 also everytime you shout out school for good and evil I feel myself living again!
I always wanted to be a librarian but I’m scared that I won’t get a job after college. So I choose teaching instead. It’s hard to choose what I love. Also your library is amazing. I hope to have something like that one day
7:40 I'm really close with my grandparents too, but they are, thankfully, still alive. My grandma has already specified some things that I will receive when they pass. One of them is a one-of-a-kind grandfather clock; a sample that never went into production. My grandpa used to be the VP of manufacturing at Howard Miller, so he has a few one-of-a-kind clocks. Everything I have from them already means so much to me, but I know they will become more valuable when they are no longer here. I hope everyone has something they can remember their grandparents by, because it will be one of your most valued possessions.
all the tabs in Circe!! ahhhh I'm doing my dissertation on Circe at the moment (and A Thousand Ships - would HIGHLY recommend if you love Circe!) so I feel ya on wanting to gush about it
What an epic tour! My favorite bookcase was the YA. We have a lot of favorites in common there - A Little Something Different, Love & Gelato, The Wicked Deep
Your Library is amazing! I enjoyed seeing your Rare books section, Harry Potter shelf as well as the Adult and Middle Grade sections. I really want a ladder some day when I can hopefully have my dream personal Library built :D .
I appreciate the old books and bibles in your collection. Most tours on here feature only young adult fiction or adult modern fiction. I may do a tour of my home library one day.
Absolutely loved your tour! The shelves are gorgeous and a refreshing change from so many copy-paste shelves with same books in other booktube tours. And so lovely to know you've turned your passion for books into a profession aswell
Your library is such a goal!!! Thank you for all the recommendations, I loved this video, it was like chatting with a friend! Unpretentious and relaxed. Absolutely love your videos!!
My favorite parts of the video was when you talked about your family in connection with books. Barnes and Noble&Heirlooms. Oh my goodness you love foxes too, sub.
Nice tour and great presence that draws in viewers and potential readers looking for books and ideas for storing novels. As a composer of original music themes for book trailers about comics that are performed on the guitar, I really like seeing commentary like yours since you give a unique take on your life surrounding reading. That's very inspiring to musicians like me who perform original music for stories that complement stories and represent excitement for characters. Nice summaries on stories and like your excitement for them and their authors!
Omg! Am so glad I found you. Growing up I felt so "odd" because I loved books. I work in Education now, and always have a book am working on. Always dreamt of having my own library, and now I have a home with a Growing book collection in my office/guestroom. I have about 300 books. Those bookshelves with ladder are so dreamy. I blame the Beauty and The Beast, the first book my mom bought me as a child. 😅
I pretty much grew up in a library and my wife and I also took our kids to Borders and Barnes, and our oldest daughter worked in the local library since she was 14, so we’re a book-collecting family... it’s a sickness.
This is only the 3rd video of yours I have watched (found you on Friday) and I can tell I'm going to enjoy your channel. We have similar tastes for sure! I wrote down 15 books you mentioned that look like I would enjoy! I love the childrens' books you have. I love going to Barnes & Noble and going to the picture books just for some nostalgia!
That’s so nice of you to say thank you!! And I’m so glad you like looking at picture books too- you’re right it’s very nostalgic!! I think they’re like works of art 😊❤️
I used to own the complete poetry of Robert Browning published in 1895, which was 5 years, or so, after he died. I hated to loose that book. 😢 Very nice collection. I enjoyed seeing all the books you have. Books should be cherished.
