I was thinking the same thing about a house tour. I understand not wanting to show the whole house or not wanting to do it as a walk thru style however. I LOVE those main shelves with the ladder! I’m just curious about what room those are in, how that room is styled, and if they were built-ins or if they were added. Also curious if the spot off to the side where you sometimes film is a built in desk area that folds closed or if it’s an antique piece. An office tour would be cool too, as it looks like a cozy yet stylish aesthetic.

Oooo I love a styled shelf. Our shelves first and foremost are to hold our mountain of books. However, we currently have themed shelves. Fairytales 🧚🏼 are stacked and organized with a smattering of fun decor: some rock-hounded crystals, a treasure chest, etc. We have an educational 🔭 shelf with our telescope and mini globe. We have classic literature 📚 with a skull from when we went to med school. My witch shelf 💎 with tarot decks and a spell jar for protection and relaxation. Harry Potter🧙🏼has its own shelf and is decorated with some memorabilia: metal bookmarks, a dobby stuffie. We also have our fantasy shelf with a dragon dice box. Of course, we have countless books that don’t quite fit anywhere, and they make up their own chaotic shelf. Lol It’s so much fun. They are your shelves, and they should make you happy. ❤️

ohhh i love this type of video! i personally always mix my tbr with the books i've read, especially because i organize my shelves based on genres. when it comes to separating books, i usually separate books i want to unhaul from the rest of my collection. it makes my room looks messy but i'm happy with it 😂🌳

🌱 To answer your question, I keep my books all together. They're organised by genre and then within that I just do it by however looks nicest to me 🤣 I'm also a fan of turning books out to face forwards and including candles and picture frames on the shelves, but they do take up space.

You have made my day Lexi! 😀 I'm living my vicariously through you! Your new bookshelf and decor is so beautiful, and your reading chair looks so cozy and wonderful. I have a room dedicated in my home as a library, and my bookshelves are alphabetized by author, and kind of split up into different genres....it's a hot mess. My goal this spring is to make my library super cozy, and more eye appealing. Your bookshelves are all so beautiful, and it's motivating me to do an entire overhaul of mine (9 IKEA bookcases total). My TBR is usually a stack of books on my bedside table. I'm a busy momma of 3 boys, so I usually only get through about 2 books a month. I spend a lot of time reading at night to my kids and they also love to read. My book buying and TBR has gotten out of control since I discovered your channel a few months ago (don't worry, that's a GREAT thing 😃). I've been able to get out of my reading slump and it's an awesome feeling. I'm so happy to have discovered your channel, I enjoy watching your videos so much! I'm gonna be truthful, I cannot LOOK at your shelves and not be jealous! I remember the day when you posted your bookshelf reorganization vid when you got those other Greek busts and I fell in LOVE! I had never really seen many people put Greek busts on bookshelves before, but now as a book lover myself that is all I want to have on my shelves! 🪴🪴 I keep mine totally separate, I’m moving soon and am going from a tiny apartment to a 3 bedroom home again and am so excited! Presently my books are so split up (because like you I have hundreds and hundreds, according to goodreads it’s 850), and all of my shelves aren’t even up because I don’t have enough room. I’ve claimed the 3rd bedroom as my library room and I think this go around I’m going to sort them by age range and then genre (specific types too, like fantasy with a school setting, non magical fantasy, etc) and I am more excited than I can say! Lovely video. 💕

Love how the new shelves look!! I always keep my TBR books separate. They live on shelves in my bedroom organized only by faction/nonfiction and then when I got them (I try to reach for my older books at least every couple so that I don’t forget about them forever 😂). My read books live on mostly decorated shelves in my office organized loosely by genre (nonfiction, classics, fiction, series) and by author name within the genre🪴

🌲 Such lovely bookshelves! And I prefer to mix my tbr with my read books. This is mostly because I do not have enough space for a separate bookshelf for my tbr and I don't like the cart system that much. Of course it's a bit of a hassle to search for unread books, but it gives me a good excuse to go through my books and just touch them all the time.
