Now that the plane is flying I wanted to do a little testing at the airfield. I had a good time doing some low passes with multiple video angles and help from my friend on the field. Music: www.bensound.com/royalty-free...
Thanks Dr! For the side shots I used a GoPro Session, the forward facing rear shots were done with a GoPro Hero Black 5. I also had a Yi Action Cam in the cabin with me on a GoPro selfie stick but I didn't manage to capture any good video, and I had a small tube style action cam on the lower strut tube fitting that died before my first takeoff. Editing software is Magix Studio - nice tool without being toooo complex. No final landing? LOL - after my initial fun and games I went on a 1 hour tour around the area and all cams had pooped out. :)
Jim Pfarr Awesome. Really enjoyed watching. How long will that aircraft fly? And how long did it take to build it? Thanks for the info on the video, I do videos and that was my reason for asking. I also use the GoPro‘s when not doing professional video.
@@drdimento This plane will fly approximately 5 hours on an 8 gallon tank, these 1/2 VW engines really sip the gas. Original build took 2 years, after my crash landing I took 3 years to rebuild. Someone who can dedicate more time per day would certainly build it faster than me.
@@JimPfarr wow on the crash. hope you weren't hurt. that 1/2 vw sounds interesting. I've been thinking ultralight and i have a pilots license although i need a BFR. what kind of $$$ do you figure you have in your rig?
@@drdimento I came through the crash with minor scrapes, though I looked more disheveled than not (thanks for asking). I have over $20k in the rig, which is pretty high for an ultralight quite honestly.
This is a Belite Ultracub (no longer in production). A very similar plane - and much improved - is the Badlands Aircraft F1. Both planes are derived from the Kitfox Lite.
