I did a deep dive into the 2025 roster as of 7/4 and who's coming in from the Portal and JUCO, and likely to arrive with incoming freshman who do not go in the draft - and who is still on the roster from last year. We are stacked in RHPing and the Outfield. We have about 4 guys who can compete for Catcher and/or 1st Base. Where we are REALLY shallow is LHPing (only 3 at present [4 if Herring comes back] - we had 9 LHPs on 2024 roster) AND left side infield defense is VERY shallow. It will help if Braswell decides to come back. Jones at 1st is gone. Incoming Freshmen: 16 signees. Of those, 7 are projected to go in the top 5 rounds! Thankfully, one of them - Derek Curiel - pulled his name out of the draft. 4 are in the top 2 rounds - so they are gone (incredibly, 3 of them are in the top 16 projected draft picks). So, my projection is that 6 of the 16 go in the draft. With Curiel coming to campus, that leaves 9 others. Two of those 9 are projected to go in the draft, but in rounds 7 and 9. Hopefully, those two guys (Michael Ryan and Mavrik Rizy) will decide to come to campus. There's talk that Schmidt may decide to come to LSU, and while I certainly hope that's true, he is projected as the 16th overall pick. It's unlikely he comes to Baton Rouge... but hey... Dylan Crews came to LSU and he was projected very high as well. Time will tell if Jay can bring in more LHPs, a 3rd baseman and shortstop, and maybe even another body to compete at catcher (you really need two solid guys back there).
With Moore foing to oregon I'm hating college football more and more. They giving hin that Nike money. For the best players in the country it's not about recruiting, its only about the pay check

College Football as we knew it is gone.Even Texas didn't want to out bid that. That's insane. It remains to be seen how he turns out. When he said that JaMarr Chase was his favorite receiver...I got suckered in to believing that's why he wanted to go to WRU.All he cares about is money. Why was he in Baton Rouge 2 weeks ago? Was it to see if they had had decided to increase their offer? He committed last year. He should have been told then what the offer was going to be.Don't waste my time... .and I won't waste yours.
Great job Moscona. You always keep it real. I've got a request... Is it possible to get weekly or monthly updates on the more unpopular sports? Maybe a couple minutes here and there on tennis, gymnastics, golf, soccer, rugby, etc... It's hard to know what's going on with these sports and something consistent would be a game changer.

@@AnthonyJ504 ESPN is the only service that has him barely a 4 star.. I want to be clear, I’m not knocking this kid in any way and I want him to succeed at LSU. But to make comments about the 3 star CB from Vegas and then applaud this as anything different is hypocrisy.
