My 80s babies can relate....I would stand in front of my VCR for time on end rewinding this part with Marcus sitting in front of those TVs....this is such a heavenly song ❤❤
Holy shit! Yes! I have been looking for this theme for over 20 years! Boomerang is easily one of Eddie Murphy's top best movies ever made. If not, THE best Eddie Murphy movie.
Ahhhh.....what could be better than listening to this track, while relaxing with your significant other, sipping on some champagne or wine, cuddling near a fireplace, while taking in the sounds, feeling each other's heartbeat, and.....I think I better stop there LOL.
Marcus Miller Bad on the Bass you can here the Bass line when Chris Tucker Said to Charlie Sheen in money talks don't hate cAuse I look better then you in yo own Issh
+Richard Taylor Me too! I gave up a long time ago until I listened to a mix on youtube by a DJ called Tall Black Guy. Listen to his Mix #2 track one called "Floating" It reminds me of this just faster. Now that I listen closer, it is the same baseline...I wonder if the same song?
I thought I was the only one..... i remember looking for it on the soundtrack, like why isnt this song on the soundtrack? Songs like this made me love jazz.
Thank you for posting this delicious piece of Eargasmic loveliness......ALWAYS grabbed my attention in the film and had me mesmerized.....Thanks again....
What predominantly black film today has this type of score? No, what predominantly black film today has the class, sophistication and style as Boomerang or Love Jones etc? especially a black comedy
@@rosezee3398 I'm all for interracial couples, love is love but... it's almost like they go out their way to never show a same race couple anymore, especially a black couple. I'm just sayin', can Black love get some love? Lol.
I CAN'T BELEVE I FINALLY FOUND THIS SONNNNGGGG!!!!! I HAVE ALWAYS SEARCHED FOR IT!!! SO SOOTHING!!! SOOO EVER-RELAXING AND CALMING! BEST TRACK IN THE MOVIE!
Lashana, I found this track on ITunes store..you can buy it there. It does have vocals on it...it's got a great feel to it. It's Boomerang by Marcus Miller.
This has to be one of the smoothest songs ever. Been loving this song since that movie came out. Glad to have finally found it. Thank you for the upload.
This is a brilliant, haunting and cerebral piece of music. It makes you reflect on thing's and reminds me of another great artist, Pat Matheny. Marcus Miller is a genius!
Dam Ain't Nothing, I mean, Nothing like Having one day Out of the Week to Watch a *Back N D Dayz* Movie 🖥 or Listen to 🔊music 🎼🎶🎵 that was in Style back then and Reminance🤗 how good life was in the 80's and 90's! 💯 ❤, ✌🏿, & 🧘🏾♂️
OMG.. I have been looking for this song since the movie came out. I have always loved this song. Times like this is why I am SO HAPPY RU-vid was even invented. Thank you BIG TIME for uploading and sharing...
Holy crap!!!!! Do you know how long I have been looking for this jam????? It never left my mind ever since I watched BOOMERANG. I was so disappointed that it was not on the Soundtrack, and I actually thought it was never released. Then today, I kid you not, the melody came to me and I went to RU-vid and typed “Boomerang score”... and here it is. So I am guessing there was a Boomerang score album released in conjunction with the soundtrack. But thank you for uploading this.
Since Marcus Miller was the one who created this theme for the Boomerang movie, you should check out Marcus Miller's 2002 song Boomerang where he remade this into a full song.
Great loop. For others, this song is featured on Marcus Miller's "M2" album (2001 release). Two versions are there (a vocal track featuring Raphael Saadiq and an instrumental). The album versions are not quite as "pure" as the loop presented here, but, IMHO, they are quite pleasing nonetheless.
i've always like this tune. when listening to this, it does take away stress & a breath of fresh air. Thank u Marcus Miller using this for opening to Boomerang coz i can just imagine anything when hearing this
I'm 37yrs old rn so when this movie hit VCR, I had to be like 10 or 11 I would rewind the scene over and over, just to hear a snippet of this piece. Blissful
This track is pure relaxation and calmness. Makes me think about being in St. Lucia. Just relaxing on the beach, looking out into the distance with no one in sight. Listening to the sound of the waves gently crashing on the shore line. Let me come back to earth.........I'm at work. Damn!!!
I have always been intrigued by this short piece of jazz, I'm pissed that Soundhound and 2hrs worth of searching came up with nothing, I want to give credit where it's due and hopefully find more pieces like this!!! Definitely got this on repeat
So what happened? How did so many of us miss this song for so long? Apparently while Babyface produced the soundtrack, Marcus Miller produced the score. For those of you that may not know the soundtrack is music selected for a movie and the score is music is music MADE for the movie. It seems the rights for the score were not secured and so did not appear on the CD. Also consider that M2 came out 9 YEARS later and so realistically Marcus' music was probably not fully developed and produced by the time the movie and CD were released. there was also the matter that Marcus' involvement was not as well advertised as Babyface's. When M2 was put out in 2001 it flew right past many of us, time and lack of information did their part. So here we all are 24 years later just finding this but so worth the wait. What about that second song I mentioned?? Well now i have hope so the quest continues....
The other smooth jazz track in the apartment is also by Marcus Miller but not available sadly: Here's what Marcus said about it on his website: "That song has no name other than something like, "cue number 28" or something like that. It features me on soprano sax and Paul Jackson Jr. on guitar"
This is Heaven sent...I just watched this movie and thought to myself wonder if I could this...and you Blessed my ears!!! A tune's availability that has haunt me for many years!!! Thank you!!!
Wow I have been searching for this song for so long ever since I first heard it. So emotional and beautiful really hits your soul deeply makes you think what really matters in life and clear your mind
Thank you Thank you Thank you for posting this. I have searched everywhere for this loop every since I first heard it in the movie boomerang and have never been able to find it til now. God bless you!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to this in a car with a really nice system and you'll really hear this song. Sounds really good in my car with 4 12's and audiocontrol epicenter like I was right there in the studio while it was being recorded.
Ever since I very first saw "BOOMERANG" and heard this in the beginning it has STAYED with me all these years! So hard to find! AAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG!!!
Ok everybody!! Like many of you I have been searching for this song ever since I heard it in the opening of Boomerang (1992) with Eddie Murphy. Much to my surprise it was no where to be found on the soundtrack. There is another song like this in the movie during the apartment scene (very romantic). I went through great effort to track down Marcus Millers office both through snail and email. But they assured me the song must be on the soundtrack...it wasn't and I told them so. I would even go so far as to rent and later by the DVD just so I could hear the song. I knew Marcus (and Babyface) were involved but couldn't track any leads or existence of the music. Fast forward to 2001. Marcus Miller releases M2 and if you're like me you missed it!!! Fast forward to 2016. I was looking again for the movie to see if it was online and (once again) perhaps the music we all have been craving. I saw Jennifer Bryds (many thanks JEN youre a damn star!!!) Boomerang:Loop (2010) Instrumental and with a deep breath I pressed start...and i started to cry. At last!!! And over in the corner a Marcus Miller song with the same title another furtive click and the wonderful jazz vocal version was there. which I immediately bought of course!! Explanation in next post.
Me too!!! I went out and bought the soundtrack thinking it was going to be on it and it wasn't. The whole reason I wanted the sound track was for this piece of music right here.
***** you guys can contact the movie director of house party 1 Reggie Hudlin about that song, I've contacted him about it. He said that song was a move score made for the movie. He also says he has a copy still but he'd have to go into his old tape recordings to find it because it was so long ago. I havent got in contact with him about it sense 2 years ago when i asked him. Also there's a fan website Marcus miller has and fans ask him questions, there's a fan that ask him about the song this was years ago. And he told them that he'd also have to go back to his old records tapes because it was so long ago and the way he recorded things then, are so different now. I love that song.
The original House Party is great too! I wish we had access to the full version of Marcus Miller's instrumental for Boomerang. If you guys remember, in the movie, there's that one scene where Marcus is alone, in his dimly lit office, contemplating in front of his multi-television system with the cloud dynamic in display, about Jackie's motives and his current predicament at his company. That particular scene right there, plays the full version of the Marcus Miller instrumental.
Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for making this video. I always have to replay parts of a song repeatedly to hear the part I like the most but I don't really know how to do that.
@nocturnalnightbird I'm glad this is the straight instrumental without the words. This is the most relaxing sound at the beginning of Boomerang. It set the tone for the movie. Once I listen to this I sit back imagine anything. This been the best so far!
