@@raptirboy180 African American culture hates successful black men more than white supremacists. So when a black man succeeds it's only because he "sold out to whitey." Instead of using successful examples of black men as a model for furthet success it is instead further evidence of oppression. In other words it's a part of the narrative african americans create and perpetuate about themselves so they dont have to take responsibility for their actions.
@@toastedt140 yeah no that's not how it is at all it's really just calling out the various so called " Successful" black folks that would elevate themselves at the expense of their own people, Catcher Freeman (Lynchwater) said all he wanted to do is just *SHOW* him the script I understand that's his "biological" father but considering the nature of his conception and the circumstances regarding the times he had no business selling out Thelma and the rest of the slaves.
@@notplayboicactus5700 i mean, we did have a black president, plenty of black mayors or major cities, all black movies being made, black people in major positions of power such as congress and high ranks in the military, wheres the systematic racism? Im not sure jim crowe laws would of even came into existence if it was real. Lets not mention the affirmative action put into place to give black people an advantage when it comes to the educational system
@@JoseMora-wc5zz I think he's supposed to be a self-insert of Aaron McGruder, hence the whole writing an entire script and only being concerned about the script
Considering that Robert was indifferent to black civil rights movement and lacked sincerity in movements that he did participate in, its not a surprise that his ancestor Catcher turned out to be an opportunistic coward while the _actual_ hero was Catcher's wife (who Huey clearly took after)
Fudged up as it may be, when placed in context, Huey is essentially correct, but neither Grandad nor Ruckus are willing to believe the facts, defaulting to what they both believed about Catcher Freeman instead (a fine generalizing of our own socio-political world now, but i suppose, like its original comic source, this show was also ahead of its time)
In spanish* slaves could read and write. That’s why your people travelled 9000 miles by boat to get these people… unless you think they did all that they did for morons?
@@davidnorman4612 the colonies are from spain thats why I said spain and not spanish that is refered to the lenguage, the slaves of the british empire use to be uneducated, thats why my point, also in peru ex colony of spain slaves use to be sale in the main parks, you can check the story of fray san martin de porres, the black saint that sell himself in order to help others.
