This is definitely one of my favorite episodes from Season 2…simply cause of Ruckus popping out of thin air and somehow having photo evidence of Catcha Freeman🤣 Not to mention Riley calling out Granddad mid-story about the slaves referencing Batman🤣🤣 Also next episode is my favorite one of the season!!😂✊🏽🌈

The messed-up part about ruckus's story is that old Southern history books actually did say things like "slaves would often have picnics and BBQs with their masters" so it was likely people legitimately saw slavery in a similar way as him.

We don’t really talk a whole lot about slavery in Texas history. We’re told that it happens but for the most part Texas really isn’t as extreme as the other confederate states in terms of racism

But then ofc the Texas Revolutionary War and Alamo is glorified in Elementary school like Texas wasn't straight up stolen from Mexico. btw Mexico actually abolished slavery in Texas decades before the Civil War which was a big reason the increasingly anglo population rebelled in the first place. Then it was reinstated as Texas became a slave state when they joined the US and the rest is history.

Yeah season 3 is where it all peaked for me, although I know some will overrate some episodes over others because they’re 1 family member focused over the rest. Also I thought the Catcher Freeman episode would’ve been later.

As a Texan native, I can say that we mostly talked about the Alamo and Republic of Texas. We do talk about Civil War, Texas did vote to join the confederacy, but Sam Houston, one of the founding fathers of Texas, voted against this, but he was overruled.

By that standard it's also ok to not like Rukus. The whole point of Rukus is that he is just one of the worst people imaginable, I mean his intro music is a literal depressing trumpet. Most of their groaning is the point of the character, and because people like him actually exist. I would get what you are saying if they said "people can't enjoy the Rukus character", but they're not. Just live and let live.

May get a little preachy but sheesh. Some of y'all REALLY need to chill. They ain't bothering none of y'all. Rana is chill. Over analyzing videos that are meant for a good time is the ultimate low. If you watch this and feel the need to critique everyone on a couch coolin out with friends then you might want to find some friends of your own. They are chillin. Do the same. It's a T.V. show that none of them wrote and sometimes comedy can make people uncomfortable. That's part of the deal. Stop doing the most and do more. This is a great channel so miss it with all the negativity.
