Great video very informative I have the exact setup however I recently changed my turbosmart bov to a full recirculating bypass valve by mountune. I haven't noticed any performance issues but was wondering if this bra setup is fine with my recirculating bypass valve?
I recently put the same bov on my Rs and notice the same thing driving on the highway. I don’t mind the hissing but does it hurt my car in anyway to just keep it like this?
Hey did you end up doing this to the focus im having the literal exact same issue also is your car creating more boost than normal when accelerating at full throttle??? If you can answer soon that would be great thank you
@Jared Kunnath I wanted to ask you if you ever upgraded your WGA to one of those Mountune IWG75-14 (?). I wanted to know if you installed one and what your driving impressions were between it and the stock WGA.
The long story here is I took my car down to Mountune in LA and had them install some of their parts I ordered. They totally effed up the racing clutch install and that in turn, destroyed the transmission 3 times, before I had Ford put back the original clutch on the 3rd replacement, that Ford kindly gave me the 2018 edition with the LSD installed, to make up for the one that Mountune installed and was shipped back with the first transmission failure...so on with the WGA they installed. What a bad upgrade! Turned my Focus RS into a Mustang GT, in other words slower, with a really long power curve, unlike the FocuS RS that enjoys early shifts and quick boost. No matter how many data logs I sent and how many new maps I received from them, the car was SLOWER. So I had Ford tech put back the stock WGA when we did the new final tranny and original clutch put back in. So that’s what I was getting at. The IWG75-14 from Mountune ruins the character of the RS, and I don’t recommend it.
I just got a 2017 RS. Noticed they sometimes when accelerating hard it’s like someone has put the clutch in. Loads of revs but no power. I see there is a box the turbo smart blow of valve. And maybe it got installed wrong. It’s a shame cos it goes well sometime
I own a 2017 focus rs nitrous blue rs2 but im in the Bay Area California I bought it as a collection did mostly bolt on mods all reversible and cosmetics Only have 2600 miles always garaged kept you can look up my license plate Myking3 CA Forgot to add it’s up for sale! $48,000.00 feel free to contact me anyone
Boost is currently weak on my Focus RS. I think the BOV May be stuck open because I really have to give it throttle to get the turbo to get any sort of response. Anyways it bothers me that it doesn’t have the high boost now and I never hear the BOV open up.
@@JaredKunnath thanks. I took it in for a leak test on the turbo and the tech couldn’t find any leaks. That’s when I said, you know, I haven’t heard the BOV go off in the car in like more than a year. He said, yeah now that you mention it, I didn’t hear it at all. So I’ve ordered a TurboSmart Plumb back shortie with reference adapter to replace the stock one that’s been on since 2016.
@@JaredKunnath I think it will fix it...other than that, I had a host of error codes and sensors go out all at ounce that I troubleshoot myself for over a year, but Ford dealer finally fixed the neural position sensor which I had replaced once and then, twice...the turbo is the last hurdle to it running at its best. Thanks!
