Boosted Mini S is an electric skateboard that goes 18MPH and has a range of 7 miles. Should you buy one? Boosted 2 review: • BOOSTED BOARD 2 REVIEW! Boosted review: • BOOSTED BOARD REVIEW www.boostedboards.com
thanks for watching and commenting everyone! at 5:20 I said "if you don't intend on traveling, get the S" but I meant to say "if you DO plan on traveling get the S" because you can take it on a plane X = double range = cannot fly S = standard range = can fly lmk if you have any more questions!
Hi Boosted, I really love your product, which is why I am writing this. My recommendation is make it so that when the battery dies and it is used as a regular skateboard that there is not as much resistance. I'm not a designer, but the way I have seen other companies *cough*(LouBoard)*cough* do this is by putting the motors inside the wheels so that there is little to no resistance when kick pushing. Again, I don't know how big your guys' motors are or if it's possible with your design, but I think that would be a great pro, as pointed out in this video. Once again, love your product, I just think that would be another way to improve it.
They obviously know what hub motors are it's just that they will significantly reduce torque and performance for the boosted boards which is why they prefer to keep the belt driven system. If it's such an issue, you can always just pop off the belts entirely and then have a normal, but slightly heavy, skateboard.
Fair enough, but it's just a convenience thing. I'd rather just easily start pushing rather than having to stop to take off the wheels, then the belts and then put the wheels back on. Once again, definitely not a dealbreaker, just for convenience. I appreciate the feedback.
Some of the best footage of Mini S riding on RU-vid! Nice work :-) I travel to two to three cities a month so flying all the time. The S was a no brainer as I can't tell you how many cities I ended up in wishing I had an electric skateboard. Still 6 more weeks until mine arrives. Waiting is painful!
You’re the man Sam. By far the most compelling review of the mini I have seen. I’ve been riding the Dual+ for 1.5 years now and highly recommend the longer board to newer riders. I’ll be getting the Mini for shorter commutes.
Great overview! As someone who didn’t ride much until I got my Boosted Dual, I can’t imagine being comfortable starting out on the small board. They look awesome though. I also love the Loaded deck.
The guy who did a kickflip on the mini S is dutch, i saw that kickflip in person, we were at a boosted group ride in denhaag! So cool to see him in the video :) hup holland hup!
Sam Sheffer ye i got to ride the mini and im sold! I will definitely buy a mini x when the delivery time gets faster and after i get a raptor 2. Cant buy everything at once :)
Thanks Sam! You have the best boosted board reviews in the entire youtube. I have been holding off the purchase but now i am sold. This should be much more practical in a tight city area than the V2. Easily the most efficient way to get to any spot on the city combining it with subway.
I think this is the best video so far that addresses a ton of info about the Boosted Mini and several situations that you have tested and talked about for us to think before we pay for it Really good review overall!
Every review I’ve seen is from an experienced skater. I would love to see you get a friend who doesn’t skate to try the board. I wonder how he’d get on?
Dope video, Sam! I was hoping you’d drop one about this board. I’ve been waiting for Boosted to make something like this for years. I just ordered a MiniX. The 10 week wait time is going to be a rough one!
Thank you for making this video once i heard about the new boards being cheep I started saving up. You arebone of my favorite RU-vidrs and I was whaiting for you to make this vidio
Thanks for the comprehensive review Sam. I was just curious as to whether or not you were going to also do a review of the Stealth. Additionally, could you do a comparison between the mini x and stealth for potential buyers (like a buyers guide almost). I would really appreciate it and I think the community here would too.
Sam Sheffer you deserve it man! And Idk if I would have gotten into esk8 if it weren’t for trying your inboard & Jehan’s v2 wayyy back. So thank you (:
I'm definitely going to get my hands on a Mini X for commuting around my college campus. My current Landwheel board is NOT safe. Looking forward to getting the X for the extra range and +2mph top speed. Thanks for this review!
Awesome and very informative review. Plan on getting a mini X in the near future. Question though, where did you purchase that helmet? It looks awesome!
Sam, great video. Definitely considering this as a first electric skateboard. What kind of upkeep to boosted boards have? Would I need to replace parts after a while or maintain it?
Hey Sam, thanks for the very informative and well presented review. I own an Acton Blink S and with a hard deck, the road vibrations is very tough on my knees and legs. Do you find that the road vibrations are much more severe on the Mini S vs the regular Boosted Long Boards?
Sam - great review on the new board. Question - I'm more a longboarder myself and love the original Loaded boosted for it's carving abilities and softer feel riding around rough roads. Would you say the Mini is drastically different in this regard? I love the idea of having a smaller unit that performs similar to the original board but don't want to sacrifice the fun factor of the loaded boards.
Hey Sam I was just wondering if you would recommend the ruroc helmet you use over a regular helmet? I've been looking at getting one but already have a skateboard helmet🤔🤔 Also amazing video keep up the great work 😆🎥
Hey Sam! Great review! I also live in NYC and have a question about the Boosted Mini. I currently have a long electric skateboard and I will say that the length really helps when traveling at top speeds over the sometimes really uneven and rocky streets of NY. Do you feel like you don't feel as in control with the shorter board at top speeds? I use mine for commuting and just want to know if I am going to be thrown off the board when speeding down Central Park West haha. Thanks Sam!
I liked the video, Would love to see a comprehensive Boosted vs Evolve review. I'm looking at getting the stealth or the Bamboo GTX Series Street both are great but the Evolve just seems like the better deal. for example the price, range and speeds are better.
Hey Sam! I’ve been waiting to hit the buy button on a boosted or a S73 for a while. I commute around London and I’m looking for an alternative means of transport. I haven’t ridden a skateboard since I was in my teens, so I would consider myself a beginner. Do you think a mini X would be a good purchase for a beginner skateboarder? P.S love the channel!
Great video. I'm very conflicted, I have a few miles to commute to work, in Edinburgh, a busy city. I've never skated before and was excited by the mini x which I've pre-ordered because of its size, fitting it in a gym locker etc but I've been worried about the lack of flex and the small boards going over bumps, how've you found that?
Hey Sam, thanks for this review. I’m not sure about get in on a airplane with the boosted board. Is legal or not? Because I see many videos that is ok to do it.
Thanks for pointing out that you can't fly with the extended battery. I was really hoping to travel with a smaller board. What's the alternative? Shipping the battery and taking the board on the flight? I wonder if its more efficient to ship the board in-tact (domestically) .
Hey Sam, enjoy your reviews. Do you know any pro skaters or really good amateur skaters that could attempt tricks on the boosted mini? It'd be rad to see that in a video. Just an idea :) Keep up the nice work!
I bought the mini S a couple of weeks back, gotta wait 6-9 weeks shipping to the UK wish is shit. But I'm so excited to actually try a skateboard for the first time let alone an elctric one.
I have this boosted mini, never skated before but I used to have a "cheap" electric longboard before and I got used to it... now I'm trying to figure out how to place my feet in this boosted mini. I see you and many others place the back foot almost in the border and the front foot just under the screws. Naturally I placed the front foot on top of the screws almost to the limit of the board and the back foot right up of the screws (quite the opposite) but I feel uncomfortable... I'll try to place feet like you to see if it improves! Thanks!
Sam, question- someone told me that it’s possible to put a standard range battery on a mini x, but it would make a gap that debris could get into the motor. Any idea if this is true, and if so, could I just duck tape the gap?? Then I could have the 14 mile rage at home and still travel with a standard battery. Thanks dude
Really enjoy my v2 looking at the mini because it can turn tighter. Or maybe I just need more practice. Haha Any word on when your stealth is arriving?
Sam, how is the ride when going over gravel, rougher roads, cracks, etc? I think that’s the deciding factor for me on if I want to get the longboard or a mini.
