Hehe! You said Shadowlands at @10:34 :) Thank you for the clarification! I have a few classes at 53ish and just starting Heavanwards. I think ill spend the 17.50 to boost questline to stormblood! I messed up and created a chard on a server with Road to 70 but then created another character on a different server without Road to 70...
this is very helpful when you hit lvl 50 and you can pay the $11 to skip all that annoying patch quest lines and just jump right into the next expansion
Thank you so much, this is exactly the video I was looking for and didn't think I was gonna find - a pure informative, 0 judgement video. I played WoW so I get the people saying boosting is not good (I remember saying the same thing when they introduced boosting to wow) but I just couldn't care about the story and find the low lvling process in FF14 really dull as the base story is honestly pretty boring and the rotations in early game could be done optimaly by a monkey or a 6 line script.
At the end of the day, FFXIV is an MMO and all the players are gamers to one degree or another. The caveat is boosters and skippers should expect the same kind of environment as any other MMO. If you don't know what you are doing in higher end content, regardless of FFXIV's reputation for welcoming "sprouts", the courtesy and patience does not necessarily extend to boosters or skippers. So if you boost/skip, be aware, you'll probably have to deal with the same stigma as any other MMO. People leaving or kicking you from groups in lvl 80-90 content, difficulty getting into raid groups or being gatekept.
I’m kinda confused a bit so let’s say I want to boost black mage do I have to be lv 30 and get the job first or will this automatically get me the job if I purchase it
Considering on getting a character boost. Have a level 78 paladin and just finished stormblood and want to start using the dk knight class but don’t feel like grinding
Thanks for the video! I finished ARR but still have the 80+ MSQs at Level 50. So I am going to by the Tales of Adventure: A Realm Reborn, so I can go straight to Heavensward. I only have so much time to play nowadays so it makes sense for me.
I boosted DRK job becasue I finished SB with lvl 80 Samurai. So I still had ShB to complete, which is 70-80 lvl journey so it was perfect to buy lvl 70 boos to DRK and then complete ShB with DRK since it leveled my up from 70-80 without problems.
For Kess, I did use Story Boosts, but only after I did the major story. I used it to skip the 2.x, 3.x and 4.x so far and have one ready for the 5.x. This is because I wanted to collect all the aether currents, but not deal with the annoying between expansion quests. The Realm Reborn 2.1-2.5 quests were the worst in the lot. (I am making a third character but not boosting her because I want to experience the 6.1 patch content.)
Hope someone can help me. I'm level 84 dragoon. I though when I hit level 80, Alberic will give me a quest, but he didn't. I thought I hit all the main and all the +quest so what am I missing?
random question: i've been researching about these boosts for a while. i've got myself the free trial of this game, intending to play gunbreaker if i eventually got it, as its honestly the only class interesting me. so i figured that buying a lv.70 boost, using it to get gunbreaker, and then playing through the game normally with gunbreaker is what i'd like to do. question being: is it worth it to do this? as i HAVE to learn GNB at lv.60 regardless of boosts or not, and i feel like sooner than later is better in this regard. if i can level sync my way into lower dungeons to practice i'd still be more than happy to play through ARR in full. tl;dr: i don't think its smart to level a class i don't like and have no intention of learning in depth to 60 to just play a class i've got to learn from scratch at lv.60, is it worth buying the skip to access GNB and then learn the game from the floor upwards? also, im still playing gladiator>paladin just to experience tanking basics. i WANT to learn this game. just on a class i resonate with lol.
When Endwalker comes out there should be a boost for Gunbreaker to level 80. If you can wait until then that'll be the easiest way to access high level Gunbreaker. If you're leveling Paladin anyway, you can just get to level 60 and switch over then. I can tell you that level 60 Gunbreaker is not very complicated, and anything you do before then will feel very similar on any tanking class. Ultimately it's up to you though. If you want to just play Gunbreaker now then sure, buy a boost. I'm the guy who just wanted to play Shadowbringers and boosted to it and it was probably the right move to get me into the game. If you think Gunbreaker will do the same for you, there's no real harm in it other than you being out a few bucks if you're wrong. If you're ok with that, go for it.
More of a roulette question, but if I boost story, and leveling by hand. All the roulettes from that expansion become available right? Will the system ever put me in a dungeon my item level is too low for? What is the restrictions on which dungeons I can get randomly thrown into based on my level meeting the min req only? Or I have to be both certain level minimum and item level minimum before I am eligible to be thrown into a party for that. I wanna do each dungeon by hand, but afraid of boosting story as a guy who doesn't care for story, the roulette repercussions
Hi, how can you use a second job boost on the same character? Ive purchase one job boost already and tales of adventure shadowbringer .. i wanted to job boost my character from PLD to GNB. But it wont let me .
Thank you. I've been playing on and mostly off ever since FFXIV first dropped way back. I was mostly on WoW. I've outlevelled my MSQ and I'm really wanting to get up to date with latest stuff. This helped me understand what it all means in the store. It's definitely way cheaper than WoW. I really hope this is the final nail in the coffin of me giving up WoW since WOTLK haha. Oh why do some jobs have a boost that say 1 and 2? I don't get why most are just 2 but like example the samurai has 1 and 2.
I'm honestly not sure about the 1&2 thing. I think it's just flavor because you still only get a single level boost item like all the other job boost. It's just called I & II instead.
I bought a boost for pally because I wanted gunbreaker got gunbreaker want to boost gunbreaker but I get a msg saying “you can only hold one boosted helm” do u trash the boosted gear for pally? How do I use my second boost? Won’t let me use the boost book says you can’t hold more boosted gear.
Good informative video. Think it made my decision easier. I was looking into getting a level boost bc I wanted to dabble in Sam, I'm a 62 Bard. This pushed me more to not get a boost, bc 17.50 for 20 levels doesn't sound like a smart idea. Since becoming a Sam automatically makes you a level 50 Sam. Maybe its something I'd consider down the road when I make a new character in a different world, that I plan on being a red mage. So a boost to 70 wouldn't be so bad for that price.
I have a question... what if you just do the MSQ progression without level boosts. Does that allow you to go to just start one of the higher level job starter quests without hassle? For example you did the MSQ boost and went to start a reaper which starts at level 70
I boosted, cuz I wanted to go into PVP without having the issue of not having all skills. Plus I have played through the story with an alt and I also just wanna rush through the story with my new character :3
So to be sure Tales of adventure: A Realm Reborn, skips the msq to the end of patch 2.55 right? So the msq lvl 50 'Coming to Ishgard' would be were you can continue?
year later lol but im new here. i got the dark knight bundle just as i finished the main scenario but i thought i was getting the job armor but i got a different set? is the lvl 50 job set still obtainable?
You can obtain old sets via vendors. I'm not sure which specific ones but they are definitely obtainable. The ones you get with the boost are item level appropriate for the boosted level of the character so they are not job specific.
Very informative video! I do have a quick question though, if I decided to do the realm reborn boost or heavensward, does the boost give me access to additional dungeons that are picked up through quests that are non MSQ and do you get all the aether ports included in said expansion?
I feel you shouldn't boost the story but boost the jobs as you like. Because story is really good and things will not make sense later on if you boost. I will boost Ninja job because i'll be damned to sit 30min+ queues to get it to level 60 where i'm at.
Thanks very well explained. So If I understand well (sorry for my english); I wanted to create another character (yeah I know it's silly XD), so If I want to create a new character in my account and in the same server can I buy the Tales of adventure of the MSQ and then buy the tale of adventure of a job to jump directly in the last expansion with this character? Soul I do do something firts with that new character? Thank you so much!
So I want to Samurai but I don't want to skip anything past Realm Reborn. If I buy the Realm Reborn Skip and the Samurai Job will I just be an OP Samurai going through Heavensward onward?
Hey quick question, I'm a little confuse and I just started getting into Final Fantasy because I want to play dark knight. Would it be easier for me to buy those 3 Tales of Adventure so I can skip the story and get dark knight faster. Also do I have to buy the game in order for me to buy items in the online store. With the free trial can I still get dark knight or do I have to buy the game. Thank you hopefully you respond back
Hey! I got a question: I am a DPS Main, so I dont have Marauder nor the White Mage Job, but I really wanted to get the White Mage one, so If I buy one Hero's Boost, will I get white mage without even having Marauder?
Good info! I'm a little late but if I wanted to play through the story as a Red Mage, could I boost a job I will probably never play like Paladin, then do the quests to get Red Mage and play the game from level 1 as a Red Mage? Story and all?
But bro how about if you have a character that’s level 40 that a dragoon but buy the dark knight boost what will happen since dark knight is only unlocked at level 50? Pls let me know I’m struggling with this
So is it possible to boost a summoner from 35 to 70 and then just continue through the MSQ in HW? Does it level sync the questing if you are on MSQ that is level 55 and you are now 70?
so my warrior is like level 35-40 now. if i buy a jobboost like paladin or so i will get xp boost for warrior till it reaches my paladin i got from the store?
The thing that confuses me most is this. Say you have ALL the expansions but lower level starter jobs and you don't have the particular job you want to boost. Can you just buy a job you haven't done the quest for yet? Edit: like can I boost a class/job that I DONT have at lvl 1 etc?
Buying a boost completes all job quests for the job up to the level of the boost. This would include the quests that actually unlock the job. So, as long as you meet the initial requirements to unlock the job the boost will work. The base jobs don't have any special requirements, only expansion jobs do. If you have all the expansions then the expansion jobs will work fine too.
i have decided to buy the new character boost tales of adventure 3 (not msq skip) which it will boost a class to level 80, but currently i have a level 85 on one of the classes and still in the stormblood msq, will i still be able to use the class story skip? and does it affect my level? and do i still get the rewards come in with the boost bundle?
All job quests up to the boost level are completed when you buy the boost. Your MSQ progress is not affected. The only level that changes is the one for the job you boost. You will still get all of the items in the boost bundle. Those items are: the job level boost, platinum pieces for gold, and a coffer set of gear for your newly leveled job.
I really want to get int heaven's ward, and play as a dark knight. However I think level 70 boosting the dark knight is a bit overkill as I'd be way over leveled for the story, right? But the dark knight starts at 30, so would it be a good idea to buy the RR skip, and my 2nd favorite job to 70, then accept the dark knight quest as that lvl 70 job, grind it to 50 with duties, sidequests, and dungeons... and then start the expansion as dark knight when I have it at 50?
That would work. Honestly in the amount of time it would take you to do all the post ARR content, you could easily level Dark Knight from 30-50. Queue for dungeons and run Palace of the Dead to change it up if you need to. Thanks for checking out the video!
Say if you buy ninja job boost but your a pugilist will it level you as a ninja? And where do u get the stuff when you buy there boost? I logged in and nothing changed
So if I want to be a gunbreaker, would I buy a warrior "one hero's journey" and then also get the main scenario progression and it would then be unlockable in game or what? I am really new to this game so I am unsure.
You actually only need to have a level 60 character and the Shadowbringers expansion to unlock Gunbreaker. So technically you don't need the MSQ boost. I would recommend at least the MSQ boost for ARR and Heavensward though. That way you could start with Gunbreaker in Storm Blood at level 60.
Provided you have the expansion, all classes and races will be available to you. Viera and Hrothgar are Shadowbringers locked, same with Gunbreaker and Dancer Stormblood has Samurai and Red Mage Heavensward has Dark Knight, Machinist and Astrologian Other than the classes I mentioned, the rest come from base classes that eventually become those classes. So Rogues eventually becomes Ninjas, Gladiators become Paladins and whatnot. The jobs I mentioned above are basically prestige classes, only needing you to meet the level requirement to be able to get them.
Is there any draw backs to boosting when it comes to dungeons and group content? Do they give a character any gil with the increase? I mean, would it be a scenario where a boosted character would have say 1000 gil, whereas someone who played through would have 10,000 normally?
You get items you can sell for gil. I think I wound up with over 1 million after the story boost and a job boost. As for dungeons and stuff, not really? The main downsides are story based and having to figure out a much more complex version of the job all at once.
WoW Refugee? Yepp me too. Well, my advice would be to play the game instead of buying boost for your first character. It's more healthy for you to understand the mechanics and the game itself instead of buying a boost. I'd say the first character you'd play in FFXIV should be manually leveld. I've played WoW for 14 years and this is nothing like it lol.
How is it nothing like WoW? I'm leveling up right now and at 35 it seems pretty identical to WoW in terms of progression, mechanics, dungeons, etc. Sure there's a greater emphasis on quality for the MSQ unlike the mindless questing in WoW, but that doesn't contribute to your ability to understand and perform in end game activities. I understand that FF14 has a solid main story with some great cut scenes and cinematic moments, but if you're only interested in playing raids, dungeons, PvP etc, then save yourself the 3 months of 3 hours per day to complete the MSQ. If it was 60 hours to beat the MSQ, I'd do it. 200+? I'm not so sure.. I'm currently watching this video to make my decision. I don't want to skip out on all the content but I also don't want to invest the amount of time needed to partake...
No, it is purely for replaying story. You can purchase completed quest reward gear for really cheap from a vendor to get glamours that you missed, and boosting does give any unique quest items from 1-70 to your character though. That includes mounts, pets, titles, etc.
So to make sure I understand right, If I just started playing I can buy a lvl 70 Samurai character boost and receive lvl 70 abilities/gear and play though the story as this overpowered character basically
Yes, but only for the older content. The latest expansion is 70-80, so you'll have to play through that as a regular-powered character. If you don't get the story boost you'll have to do the old stuff, with a story boost you can start the new expansion right away.
Unlocking your mount is part of the MSQ. So if you boost MSQ you get it, if you only boost your job level, you'll still have to do the quest if you haven't already. Boosting the MSQ also unlocks flying everywhere pre-Shadowbringers.
Nope, sorry. You're on your own for Blue Mage XD Being a "Limited Job", it isn't even viable for dungeons, trials or raids unless you have a premade party. As to why? It's because it can cheat so many mechanics it isn't even funny XD
@@Tsetzuko Hello, I get the following error, you cannot boost a second job. "unable to use the copy of tales of adventure. you cannot carry more tthan one
5 years ago, I had a 50 ninja and bard. Account was corrupted and square could not retrieve my account. Lost all interest and did not want to do all that work again.
After boost I'm forced to play on lvl 50 zone when I'm lvl 70 😞 Idiotic mechanic's of this game locked me in second expansion ( I skipped only base game ) and now combat is not fun and story is horrible 🤬
If you started an alt character and don't want to do the story you can get a story skip, but you'll miss out on all the xp you get from doing the MSQ. So you'll have to level other ways like Palace of the Dead and etc.
@@Hangman1 That's completely up to the player. Some people love FF14 because of the story, others like it for the aesthetics or combat. One of the people I follow couldn't give a rat's ass about the story but he's still a top-tier FF14 raider.
