Wow! First time I have ever heard a content creator saying give me a thumbs down if you don't like the video. Love this type of humbleness and simplicity! Also loved this video. I always thought I shouldn't wear boots since I am so short. I wore them regardless because I LOVE them. Thanks for the tips, well-deserved thumbs up :)
Yeah right, Im tall and date the kind of man that gives me good time and love . You know, no matter if he is tall or shorter than me. That kind of thinking only shows that you are very short-minded person.
I found a GREAT pair of boots for petites! If you want a black leather knee high pair, the Melanie boots from Naturalizer are great! They have a feminine, elongating pointed toe, a short heel (tall enough to give about an inch of height but still short enough to have ease of walking), and they hit right below the knee. Took me forever to find just the right boots, hence my excitement lol. Hope this helps someone. Sincerely, Your 4’11” fellow petite ❣️
The snow boots (Sorel?) are purely functional: for snow. Sometimes function>style. It's more important in snow to protect your pants from getting wet than it is to worry about short looking legs! I love your videos🧡
At 5,2 in the Netherlands surrounded by the tallest people in the world I sometimes find it difficult just to find many of the items you mention. Here they often don’t make for my size because there’s almost no demand. Knowing what to look for is so valuable because much of it needs to be ordered from overseas. Thank you for your channel
As a short person in the Netherlands I feel your pain. But you can shop from other EU countries. Now I shop a lot on Vinted and get things from France and Italy often.
influencers are not those ,who are showing what's best in them. Real influencers are those who are showing whats not good in them , how to embrace and make it beautiful . You are one of the..I am petite and I love your channel so much 💓
Love your light tan long boots . So agree keep it simple . I’m also 5ft 2 . Anything too chunky , too fussy , too busy will make us look shorter . I never wear 3/4 length boots 😊
I live in WI and I got my first pair of Uggs this year. I don’t wear them to “go out”. But, they’re black with sequins and I wear them to Walmart, when I had surgery and to walk around the block with my kid. I love the warm and comfort of them. I have seen Sorels as a chic alternative and I’m thinking about searching for a pair of them.
Wonderful tips that I am grateful for! During the winter, I can’t wear boots with heals because of the ice and slush. The first boot you showed that is bulky is what I need to wear in our winter weather. 💋
Same. I haven’t seen a pair of fashion boots that can be worn in-40 degree weather with ice and several feet of snow, so function over style wins in winter
Thank you for this! I have shorter legs and a normal torso. So I'm always trying to find ways of elongating my legs and looking more proportionate. Great, great info here.
So informative and helpful! Thank you so much. I've been shopping for boots but was confused as to what the ones to get that would best flatter me and your video just came at the perfect time! 💗
I agree! I am short but found that over the knee boots are actually elongating. I have 2 pair and yes, easy to wear! Also, I didn’t see where you got those tan over the knee boots that had all the cute embellishments. I love those! Great video!
This is a great video! I'm only 5'0" and the tips are excellent for me. A recommendation I have for women who have very slim calves, is to take the boots to a shoe cobbler to have the shaft taken in so that the boots fit thin calves better. It can cost about $30-$40 per pair but the boots look so much better so it's worth it to me.
Appreciate your effort in putting on and taking off your boots numerous times, and pair them with outfits that would look better with long and short boots, and the colour of pants that make a difference with the colour of the boots. 👍 for your video!
I ended up with a pair of Ugg style boots as a practical joke/dare but don't wear them as I live in Florida. This video is so helpful and descriptive. I shy away from platform and wedge styles, but I didn't realize the reason! Thank you!
Great tips that never occurred to me before, you are the best petite stylist around, Chi! My legs aren’t very short, but I definitely don’t want them to look any shorter! After two years of looking, I just found a pair of nude suede knee-high boots in my really-common size, 7.5. I’m actually a 6.5, but I order up on most footwear because of wide toes.
I'm 5ft with short legs and arms and a 34dd bust. Finding the "right" clothes that look good is a nightmare. You explain fashion so well and you are actually short too!! I'm really enjoying your videos - I like how you have styled these long boots. I never thought long boots were a good choice for me but I might give them a whirl!
OMG I’ve always avoided OTK boots because I have short legs. But after seeing you wearing them with the proper attire I am going to get a pair! Thank you for this video!
Okay first of all, I immediately subscribed as soon as I saw the title! Thank you for this petite people channel! 😤😭🥺 Second of all you are so cute even if you're not trying! You genuinely seem like a fun person!☺️ 3rd, Those over the knee boots look the best! I think it's just my bias toward slim line shoes but they really look great!🧐
i am 4’11 and i really like watching your channel. all your tips are so useful. i follow most of them . except for uggs . i love them . they keep my feet warm and toasty in the winter ❄️💙.great video 😊thanks
Thigh high boots, I just bought a brand new pair from Torrid, I'm so glad that they are perfect for my 5'4" frame. Last year I bough some knee high boots and I have some ankle boots as well. Slowly but sure I'm rounding out my shoe collection.
I got a pair as a gift, but I will only wear them in my house. I must admit, they are super comfy. But so ugly. Maybe that’s why they’re called Ugg’s! 😄
Hooray! I’ve just now found you! I’m 5’2” and appear to be the same shape as you. I’m super excited to view all your videos and get educated on how to dress my short legs/body. Keep the vids coming! You’re so beautiful!!!
Thank you for the tips. They're super helpful. Do you have any tips for rain boots? I would love so see a video of outfits with rain boots, specially for work. Tx!
Thank you for this! I always struggle with boots end up getting upset because I feel they make my legs look fat lol. I have muscular legs not fat. Now I know what to look for in boots! 😄😄
The struggle is real. I need a wide width in the foot, a wide width in the calf, and I'm just under 5' tall. Shopping for knee high boots is like looking for a unicorn
The color of the boots make a difference too. I like to match the color of boots with my tights or jeans. Color blocking does really help lengthen the legs.
The problem for me is my hands and feet get too cold , in winter. Meaning , I cannot wear boots in the cold unless they are the thick clunky kind she showed as the kind not to wear. So I need to go shopping... and find pants that match better... P.S. I just subscribed. Because she showed more in this video than a lot of other youtubers I watched in the past when it comes to fashion. So she reccomends skirts... I never wore skirts because they were either way too short or ,(like most cases) were way too long.
Every year I say I'm not wearing UGGs all Winter! And every year I wear them 80% of the time... At 5'2 & 53 yrs old I struggle with wanting comfort with style ❣️
Being short I never ever wear flat or bulky boots and if is snowy winter my wedge or square heel boots work best for me... I Love those camel boots you wear!
Thank you for the great information. I too am short, your height and question the right type of boots. Thank you again for showing me this great information. I look forward to learning more from you.
Because I’m petite, boot shaft length is important like you mentioned. But also, I have skinny calves and could never find any boots that fit until I discovered Duo Boots. Measure your calf, chose height of shaft and they’ll fit perfectly. I love your videos. Thank you 😊
I had laid out my clothes for this evening but after watching this video I had to go back and exchange my black booties for cream. My top is cream and my skinny jeans are a light wash. You’re the best!
I personally wear tights under my skirts in the winter time (and actually when wearing pants as well, for warmth). So the ankle boots work with my skirts, as long as their color match my tights (most often all black). I think it's a tip I got on this very channel and repeated at the end of this video.
if your short and petite ( I'm 5'2) if you are 116-126 lb and want knee high combat boots current mood from dolls kill fit great, they have laces but also zip on the side- works best if you tend to wear skirts or shorts 34 yrs old & I love them..ps they fit nice on calves without the extra space...my MAIN issue
So you’ve told us how told the shaft should be for knee high boots. But how tall should the shaft be if your choosing over the knee boots? Augh! I’m so excited that I could wear I could wear over the knee boots! These videos of yours have changed my life. Just a few gaps 😀- like the one above and what are LTK boots?
Uggs are house shoes imo. Just like flip flops... I just do not wear them out of the house because they never really elevate any look I am trying to go for. To check the mail or run the kids to the pool or going camping etc sure. 🤷♀️ Also, over the knee boots are my favorite all winter. Combat flat or with a high heel, they instantly make skirts and leggings do-able for all of winter.
Auck!! At 4’9” I finally began just buying boots that come to just under my knee … just above the top of my calf , but mostly I have to buy vintage boots from the 70s … and they have to hug my calf or else they just look ridiculous on my particular leg. Lol. Thank you for this video.
Nice thanks always wanted to wear otk books but always thought since im short i couldn't pull it of. You've changed my way of thinking and its shopping time for me 😍😍
Have you tried children's boots? I am 5'2', 122 lbs, I wear 7 1/2 shoes ( bigger than I need, for comfort) and at Big5 I was getting some warm clothes for a trip. After a pair of low black rain boots, long johns and a couple other things I noticed the first two were children's! The black patent leather boots I got would be perfect for you. Otherwise skinny black boots and black or blue jeans/leggings, dress pants makes our legs look longer.
Thank you for sharing with us Helene- I always look for pointy toe and that is usually hard in children's boots :) But I'm glad it's working out for you!
I love all your style tips. It really transformed my dress style. Thank you for all your tips. Just a question: how do I style a royal blue ankle boot, please? It seems that everything I style it with, makes my legs look cut off. Hugz xoxo
I'm 5ft 2 also, I never have an issue with boot lengths, I've got the short torso/ long legs combo - where the waist and hips of certain dresses/tops fall is more of an issue. The camel long stiletto boots are my favourite
How about showing us warm, waterproof boots with a sensible heel and good grip for snow and ice, that look good on shorter legs. There's no way I'm wearing stilettoes on 1" thick ice, no matter how good they look.
