Border Models T-34 /85 w/ 5 Bonus Resin Figures ( Limited Edition Plastic Model Kit ) 

The great thing about building a T-34 model is if it has fit problems it’s probably pretty accurate 😅

I like how the figures have square mounting holes to attach the arms.

Looks great for 60 bucks, it would look greater if I could find my glasses which are probably on the top of my head again… That’s why we come to Andy’s channel!

I had an old Tamiya remote controlled/motorized T-34/85 from back in the day. I must say, quality has really gone up from that.

I continue to be impressed by the AFV kits released by Border Models and others. It is nice to see the manufacturers including features such as the resin figures. Very nice value! Thanks Andy!

Their T-34 that was released a year or two ago that was a “limited edition” and had something included with the first run had a few fit issues and from the reviews I saw on RU-vid it was pretty much a disappointment,but it still made a good looking tank,although with some ingenuity

I too am impressed by the kits coming from border too. In fact impressed by almost all armor manufactures kits that have been released in last year. It feels like armor is really making a come back. I have been doing armor model building for over 35 years and have to say they sure have ""raised the bar in the last few years""...I can remember when Tamiya was the leader and now they better step it up because for what you some of these border, takom, das werks and rfm kits you get aloot more bang for the buck then what you pay for a Tamiya kit. And these new kits really have good footing and clear sprues. OH BTW thanks must go too Andy you have some great videos, that well edited, very informative, educative and easy to understand. Also i loved your new Sherman 1/16, a building it WOW and damn its a blast..U have conforted mw to 1/16 i just ordered the wiesel A1 and getting ready to order your Tiger 1. I really like to check the das werk stug ausf.g the first edition, but its out of stock..and its out of stock all the major distributors. Am trying to arrange a trip from Florida to Arizona to come check out your store....KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! 🎖🪖

Nice! Exciting! I'll definitely be getting this kit! Two questions: (a) Is there anywhere in the kit/instructions that states what factory manufactured this particular design of T34/85? Details & turret shape could differ quite a bit for T34s manufactured at various factories. I know there were at least two factories manufacturing the T34/85, and one of them may have been "Factory 183" & the other perhaps "Factory 174". (b) Also, was the turret welded plate steel, or was part of it cast? That would affect how 'gnarly' the texture should be on the turret surfaces.

Thank you very much, very interesting. One question, this manufacturer seems to have achieved a good level of detail with a low level of detailing of the models. Is that so?

As to the figures, I would have liked to see some actual tank crew. Maybe the driver or commander.

Two bad that did not rework the wheels from their previous release, the 112 snall turreted one, as they were not correct that correct there as they are not correct here. The fuel drum racks are of the wrong type and antenna holder pot is bad. Over all, as long as you key buy the special edition with figs the kit seems worth it, but after the initial release not that much

I think Putin is going to start commandeering the real T34s from museums to use out of desperation in Ukraine. 😛 🇺🇦💪🏅

The Ukrainians designed very pretty tanks

This kit is a DOG. My kit had short shots on the sprocket wheels. The tracks would not stay together. The instructions were horrible. NO notations on where to glue or not and the workable suspension can easily be rendered unworkable. The fuel tanks must be assembled VERY carefully or they will not mount properly to the hull. This is the last Border model I will be purchasing. The plastic parts are excellent and the fit is great. This is common pattern for Border model kits. I had similar issues with the Panzer IV. The saving grace was no workable tracks.
