Borderlands 2 | Tina Slots And Buttstallion Farming | Bucket List Week | Day #5 

From the technical side, i think guns land pointing west to improve performance. If you are watching game simulates the gun physics fully,, but if you turn around game stops simulation (after certain amount if time) to save some cpu/memory usage. Instead full physics its just "gun in air -> default postion". Its actually cool idea and it shows that they cared for performance if they thought about something that small. PS: In CooP its propably the same - if no one looks it lands west

If the guns are alive all the gubs you've thrown away will eventually come for their revenge.

I'm sure this was explained before but to save on memory the thrown gun will be unloaded when not looking at it. They have a set direction for it to land which is west and upright in this case, they only calculate the position on the world plane to place the gun when you look back at it and spawn it back in. This same method is used to track enemies in older games like Golden Eye.

I got 3 pearlescents in my time at tiny tina slots 2 of which were normal mode drops. In normal playthroughs if you are short on cash or eridium you can farm slots for one to get the other, tina slots are op for money which can in turn be used at regular slots for eridium, which can be used for even more money and eridium (though quite tedious).

For anyone wondering what happens when you get 3 plants, I’ve only gotten 3 plants once and from what I remember it is like a jackpot for crystals (15-20)

They probably check to see if the player is watching the gun drop, and only goes through the physics of a gun drop if you're watching to save on computing. If you're not watching, the gun probably just warps to its end point with the position set defaultly pointing to the west

I got a Butcher from the Tina Slots a long time ago. Surprised the hell out of me. Only other time I hit the Jackpot was in Moxxi's bar and I got a Pitchfork.

I'm super late but early on when I was first getting into borderlands, I completed dragon keep and spun tinas slots once..first try pearl. I got a pic of it. One of my best memories of the game.

For the west facing gun thing Essentially the game stops "trying" (showing and calculating everything) behind you, and only pops it in as you turn around. So some data may not be recorded, like direction and orientation of the guns, to prevent a game crash they are set to a default value which happens to be west and upright.

the guns always face that way because thats the default position for when your not facing the gun. Since its technically not loaded instead of accounting for the physics they made it so they always lands in the same way to save background data.

When I was younger, I was playing the DLC when it first came out and randomly played the slots for 5 minutes and got a storm out of it, I freaked out

2 days ago I got the cyan launcher first try from the slotmachine on lvl 36, didn't even know this was possible. First and so far only pearl I've ever aquired.

The reason (I'm assuming) for the guns changing direction is to save space in the engine. Instead of tracking what direction a gun was facing, it assumes the same position after 1 second of turning away from it.

Back when tiny Tina dlc first cam out I got 2 legendaries in a row from butt stallion without noticing how rare it was

I grinded regular slots for like 40 minutes to get a legendary then got a pearl on Tina slots on the 2nd spin. Yet to get anything from Butt stallion.

I remember when I first started playing BL2 a few years ago, I had trouble on the first playthrough beating the warrior (cause noob lol) so I went into the Tina DLC and I saw those slots and decided to have fun gambling. At the time I didn't know what pearlescants were so I won a Stalker and I used it to beat the warrior (: sadly I mostly play BL2 on my xbox now so I don't have my original PC save ):

Surely the guns pointing west is some far out Easter Egg haha. Wouldn't be surprised.

Joltz today I farmed mczaferd for the Maggie and i got a pretty good one at that

I remember my first ever playthrough of borderlands, i had only just unlocked the cars and broke a bullymong pile which dropped a pearl sniper.

I actually got my first pearl ever from the slot machine. It was after getting a green shield, a white grenade mod, and some seraph crystals. It was a stalker and I loved it before I entered UVHM

When I would play TT's DLC solo, I would queue in a local second player and farm the eridium slots until I had zero left. It would give me a ton of cash that I would use on the normal slots, which would give me a ton of eridium, which would allow me to use the eridium slots again. Having a second character would effectively double my currency rewards. Good times.

Pulled a sawbar level 30 normal mode a while ago. Also got a level 30 tattler from hyperius ( Took a lot of eridium on Tina slots for that)

Joltz I farmed for 10 hours for 2 sand hawks I got a corrosive with Dahl grip, Dahl stock and flying and a fire one with the same stuff. Ten friggen hours

I got a level 34 stinger drop on normal mode on my Maya Playthrough. AND it was off of a re-roll.

First ever slot machine 'legendary' was a butcher from the tina slots I didnt even know pearlescent was a rarity at the time

First pearlescent i got was from the slot machines in tvhm i just put 10 eridium daily and one time i got a dice with the vault logo and got a gentleman storm. Second pearlescent ever and first in bl2 was happy as shit :D

I actually did this by accident while with me friends playing borderlands the first time and got a butcher my first rare weapon I ever had

I actually got my first pearl from the tiny Tina slots recently. It may not be OP or anything but the Butcher is definitely a great weapon for those who like shotguns
