Some games, during the loading screens tell you useful info about the game. I noticed some info on a loading screen earlier. It said: 4 is the correct number of chuggas before choo choo. Man that made me laugh.
i'm lvl 50 and completed the game on normal and true vault hunter mode so is there anykind of raid bosses or something since soloing mayhem 3 is starting to get too easy?
Best Borderlands and I've owned and still do all of them including presequal. It is like they took the best parts of all of the games and made a masterpiece. If you are just now doing a triple a not going to buy games move do it on another game. This one is too good and ties all of the story together. Literally even small told stories all make sense in the end. no spoilers here just all good fun.
@@UndeadBlaspheme I've gotten 2 oranges i think from them cache's and I've only done playthroughs of just the story once on 2 characters. It's not "typical" tbh but it happens.
yeah, thats a bit annoying in this game, though with how easy it can be to die on bosses, I usually spend my money on slots unless I'm doing side quests or have enough money to buy a upgrade, losing 20K money because you were saving up for the 243k SDu....can suck.
You can shoot humanoid enemies in the nuts and get critical damage........ Instead of just always shooting at the head. Really funny and creative towards fighting against hordes of enemies.
If you play with friends they can put all the parts you dont have on a vechile then you can drive it into the catch a ride and get the parts that way also
It’s also a faster way of traveling too. Not really useful in escaping though as there’s very little to slide under. It’s like titanfall 2 though when sliding off of stuff as you seem to get a boost in speed.
@Josh H There's the Snowdrift Artifacts, which can double your slide speed, making you slide roughly twice as fast as you can sprint. Excellent for maneuverability and escaping.
here's a tip i learned, in the accessibility menu theirs an option for mantle with forward. basically lets you auto mantle like in apex legends it really helps if you don't wanna spam the jump button to mantle things
This is the important things i figured this out on accident and abused it after unlocking mayhem 3. Park the car next to where the fight is and good luck
shooting water with elemental weapons adds an area of effect. Such as if you you incendiary weapon, it heats up the water and damages enemies who enter it
shoddymonk 101 yeah it’s also on Atlas guns now. But yeah, just keep a look out for ammo consumption of your guns. And don’t always go with legendary guns just because they’re legendary. Most of the high end purple gear is better.
@@JonCollinsMedia The list is short, and awkward to navigate. I find it really annoying compared to BL2. But at least it's not a mile-long list like BL2 has become.
Heres a tip: be aware of what elemental damage you are using. Its like rock-paper-scissors, fire beats flesh, shock beats shields, corrosive beats armor. The color of the enemy health bar correlates with which elemental is best against it. If you are using the wrong elemental, your damage will be greatly reduced.
I feel the pain xD I was level 50 had to start over due to some issues lever 1p right now and just found that out ran through the pandora mission where hes like you gonna need a special gun like okay bro can I have it? XD
Playing this game really takes me back and reminds me how fun games can really be, it’s a nice breath of fresh air from the constant micro transaction live-service games.
Well you kind of are getting ripped off. The ar has amazing stats but as soon as you shoot it you’ll see it’s sort of useless and the smg also has really good stats but the fact it can just randomly fly out of your hands doesn’t make it very good
Both guns have been amazing for me. The smg has a huge clip and smashes shields. The assault rifle absolutely chews through health bars. Both guns are great
@@alexmason896 from my limited testing of the SMG it flies out of your hands if you let it auto reload. If you stop shooting and manually reload it then you are good to go. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.
I absolutely love the respec. I don't remember it being this easy in BL2. I'm running FL4K and so what I've learned works really well is every five or so levels, respecing and finding a new way to play the character that most efficiently uses my points and abilities. Love the ease of use and ability to try a bunch of different stuff. Also something that wasn't mentioned is that it's based on how much money you have, so if you go back and buy a bunch of SDU's and a gun or something, then go and respec, it will be way cheaper.
Another tip: Look up! It’s easy to always be looking at the floor looking for loot, but this game has some stunning scenery don’t forget to look up and admire the view every once in a while. 😬
@@aGoofyNinja you said they are useless I'm just questioning the "use" you thought they would serve, they literally dangle off your gun, that's the whole point of them
Things that get you guns mailed to you: Zer0's assassinations, Hammerlocke's legendary hunts, killing 100 enemies with any brand weapon, crimson radio takeovers get you rewards from Moxxi.
Dude this is real tip, wait to do sides till you get relic or you will go most game without... I still dont have mine either and had to make a rule, keep going till you get it and dont stop for anything else. I suck at following this rule...
The paint jobs on the "hijack target" vehicles change the sound of your horn. The flame paintjob you get from the heavy outrunner, for example, makes it play a sweet guitar solo that keeps going as long as you hold the button.
matthew myers In BL2, I personally would run up to two of the same weapon type except super early on where I never doubled up. The thing is, two weapons of the same type can be vastly different ex: Dahl vs Jakob’s sniper rifles
Another thing with the vendors: Markus' vending machine at his shop on Sanctuary 3 will always sell weapons that are scaled with your character. So if you're level 30 the weapons he sells will be level 30 and so on so forth.
TIPS: You can mail loot to your friends in the mail system. Also, to emote, press and hold the "start" or middle button on your controller. It took me forever to figure that out!
Borderlands is a game that HIGHLY encourages you to respec and play around with your characters skills and abilities. Its one reason I love it so much. It reminds me of a deck of cards in a tcg. You have all these choices and it's fun coming up with synergies between your builds and gear.
Best tip for a new player: Stop watching RU-vid and worrying about legendaries and "best guns" and You have to do this!! Dont watch those videos! Just play the game at your own pace and do all the missions including side missions. By level 50 you'll be a borderlands expert and will enjoy the game 10 times more. Then your 2nd playthrough with a different character watch all the tip videos to find stuff you didnt the 1st time.
I’m brand new too & also playing as Amara. I need to stop watching videos lol. Inventory management challenging to say the least. Next backpack SDU I need costs $27K!
@@jzofop money is easy to get in the game so you wont have to worry, but yeah focus on backpack SDU before ammo. What i did i upgraded my ammo to the first tier which it cost only $1,000 each pretty cheap then i focus on my backpack SDU, either way I recommend backpack SDU. Amara is a badass!
Im not sure if the game tells you this but i figured it out on my own but, You can fast travel from anywhere on the map, you dont have to run to the nearest fast travel point, if you finish a mission, you can instantly teleport to sanctuary by accessing your map from your menu screen and selecting the fast travel point you want to go to
I've got one, if your inventory is full and you don't really wanna pick up a bosses loot for whatever reason, you can leave it (provided it's not stolen by other players in competitive mode) and gain them from the Loot Dispenser on the Sanctuary, it saves a record of Loot provided it's Blue or higher and the machine itself's not full and gives them to you there, just saves some time with selling other guns etc
Based off the early mission where Ellie tells you how to find the red chest I feel like I’m missing a lot of hidden loot, I see all these weird markings on walls and stuff and I know they have to be there for something
More tips that were probably obvious, but maybe not: • Weapon Trinkets are equipped by selecting the empty square to the left of your weapon in the Inventory Screen (I seriously didn’t figure this out until accidentally hitting left while looking at a weapon’s stats... at LVL 30) • FL4K’s pets will annoy you after a while. They walk around in front of you when trying to interact with items, chests, etc., they will bump you around when they get close, and the Jabber makes noise constantly. They are indispensable for solo players but they will ruin emotional moments (nothing like a touching scene punctuated by my Jabber walking straight through talking characters making noise) and just generally get on your nerves outside of battle. You’ll love em’ at first, and then you’ll wish there was a way to tell them to stay. • You can use the Lost & Found system as extra storage for weapons you want to sell. Blues and above will go to the L&F on Sanctuary so instead of picking up a blue or above that you know you’re going to sell just leave it on the ground (you can view the weapon card without picking it up by just putting your reticle over it) and it will end up in the L&F when you head back to Sanctuary. This does not work if you pick a weapon up and then drop it, so leave it be. You can expand your L&F via SDU upgrades. • Technical issues exist but some people experience more than others. PC players seem to be the hardest hit but I had some doozies those first two days on a X1S. Now it’s just menu lag and the occasional mission glitch that at most requires a quit and reload. I’m sure I can think of more but I need to get back to playing.
im saving all my goldenkeys for when iget to 50 on my character. no use in getting a low leveled one to just replace it by a green at level gun that performs better because of level damage reduction
@@jzofop then how will I throw my Bombs? :( every button is used, they have soo much crap here, PC is where it's at with all those keys on the keyboard TwT
Not sure if it was pointed out in game, but if you jump high enough (like off a car, ledge, etc.) and then press your crouch button you perform a ground slam.
Pro tip for Moze players: Just spec into the orange tree and unlock the fists for Iron Bear (the mech). There is actually little point in unlocking anything else, because when you get pissed off you can just run around and punch whatever it is that's annoying you IN THE FACE. Why would you not want that?
Number 4: the game does tell you.....when you get the item the literal next step is to smash an eridium outcropping. Number 3: the game tells you about the parts when you find your first hijack objective. Ellie tells you to bring it back to a catch-a-ride and then explains the whole situation iirc
Yep, and when you get mail for a weapon (i.e brand loyalty objectives) it's rank continues to heighten as you level. It doesn't remain the rank you were when you completed the challenge
As a Veteran player I can say this an accurate video. Only forgot 2 things. 1. Pick up weapons all the time on missions and sell them 2. Check the “missed loot box” in sanctuary for guns you may have missed or can sell for quick cash 💪💪🔥
things i don't understand the game doesn't talk about: - are the percentage weapon stats on the bottom of a gun already factored into the numbers above? - what is splash damage + how do i do it? (for the Amara skill) - how do the overheat weapons work? if you unequip them, do they regenerate bullets?
Overheat weapons fire until the heat meter maxes out, then you have to do a quick repair which will reset the meter. The ammo comes directly from your backpack, but does not regenerate
Shoot the Cube rotating in the middle of the map in Desolation's Edge (Nekrotafeya) - with different elemental guns for each face of the cube - the cube will then drop a lot of loot and vanish (and won't re-appear). Of course, Do this on level 50 for best loot.
Which ones cause so far the most fucking annoying are the ratch as for the none creature bugs luckily i've not had a problem although i did get stuck once on athena when i was doing something for Ava.
Quick tip when your gear is getting under leveled put your favourite guns in your wepon vault in sanctuary and sell whatever else you have rather then just swapping it for new gear
You can fast travel from anywhere on the map to almost anywhere else. Like, You can fast travel from Athenas to Pandora from the map menu without a fast travel station. If you leave a car somewhere, you can go all the way across the map then fast travel back to that car. You can also slide into barrels to knock them towards enemies and shoot them out of the air for extra elemental damage from environmental hazards. It doesn't come up often, but it looks flashy and you feel cool doing it. Respecing is easy and I recommend doing so often as you level up if you find skills you want to put points into that you can't or because you find stuff that better synergizes. Playing Fl4k, the Stalker and Hunter trees are devastating when used together. The skill Hidden Machine might seem useless, but in conjunction with Fade Away you get up to 30% extra damage for free, on top of all your crit bonuses.
Note: the level scale only happens is you keep mayhem mode on. Or go to true vault hunter mode. Also a thing I wish that was mentioned: weapon manufacturers have different things that make them special. For example maliwan has a charge up before firing. Tourge has slow fire speed. Hypirion has slow reload. So not only should you space out your weapon types but also your manufacturers. Because those seconds of reloading can make all the difference
Just started playing this, in the area after you get the ship. I was falling asleep playing this game, some of these tips will definitely help me move along
My piece of advice to new players explore the maps for a little bit so you can find some chests that way then collect all side quest you stumble upon and the do them before any main, mission that way you get good gear and level up a bit and by the time you're at the boss you can melt them easy peasy
A thing that some people miss is when you hijack a vehicle, it will have a number above it's health bar to let you know if there is a skin or part you are missing.
Actually I have found some guns on Marcus that lasted me several levels. Also when it comes to side quests I'd say it's better to try out stuff during the first playthrough, ezpacially as it would make it a bit easier with more levels and stuff. After you camplete the story you also unlock true vault hunter mode which allows you to replay the campaign with the same character and tougher enemies. Maybe better to rush through that one. Up to you though.
One thing that took me forever to realise is to customise the skin on guns go to the option to view the weapon in your inventory and it opens a new menu where you can add charms and skins etc to the gun.
I just figured out you can press down on the dpad and switch elemental types on some of the weapons. Shock to Corrosive or Corrosive to Incendiary. Huge help when I figured it out lol.
You will periodically have weapons mailed to you in game, sometimes just from gun makers for using their guns. These will always be at your level upon being mailed. 1. Got a level 50? Got a bunch of trash 50 guns in your mailbox? Want another character? Claim those guns on your new character and sell them off for a nice starting bank. Also, people forget you can trade in game. This includes money. If you got a level 50 sitting on millions of dollars, trade that money to a friend, have the friend go to Sanctuary, and roll your new level 1 character, and het your money back and buy up your SDUs for a solid start. Also, do not finish Zer0's crew challenge. Save one until you hit 50. That way, you'll get a level 50 Lyuda in the mail. One of the most sought after weapons in game.
Something to note about Crazy Earl’s: even though he sells the exact same skins (character, Echo device, and guns), room decorations for all characters purchasing them will only unlock for that character. I made the mistake and wasted a nice pile of Eridium trying to unlock skins for all characters.
Wait 10 things the game didn't tell you or 2 things the game didn't explicitly tell you and 8 that are explained in dialogue or mission objectives but we didn't pay attention to
Another one is that you DON'T need to go to a fast travel beacon to actually fast travel.. you can just open your map and fast travel at anytime.. I didn't realize that until like lvl 15.
If you need to spend money on the vending machines, go for character mods and shields from Dr. Zed's machine. He usually has better options than what sometimes drops in these item classes.
U forgot to mention, the guns in crazy Earl's vending machine, is either character spesific or action skill spesific. Meaning, u can get good boost for your build and action skill.
