Borderlands 4 has officially been announced and that got me to make a video about what I'd like to see in the next main entry of the famous looter-shooter franchise, Borderlands. All of you wonderful people came through and shared some great ideas with me and I'm excited to share and broadcast further some of the fun ideas you guys had written in the comment section of my last video!

I don’t know why but when I started watching you about a week ago i thought you were already an established Borderlands RU-vidr because of such the high quality content you put out

I think legendary pairs would be sick. Like a legendary pistol and rocket launcher combo where each hit with the pistol increases the explosion size of the rocket launcher. And then for each enemy hit with that rocket launcher explosion it boosts the pistols attack speed by x% for 5 seconds. Or a shotgun/sniper combo where every full clip you go through with the shotgun makes the sniper shoot that many times at once for it's clip. So you sit there and burn through 5 clips of the shotgun and it makes the sniper shoot 5 shots per shot for the remainder of it's clip. So now some of those 'meh' or mid-game legendaries could still be relevant if it makes it's pair do something incredible

3 things that need to be added in Bl4: 1) Return the GRINDER with some improvements. 2) Make Salvalor a villain or at least a RAID BOSS. I think it will be cool when a small and fast boss does a lot of damage. 3) Try to make SEVERAL ENDINGS or at least some choice that will really affect something (I know it's expensive and difficult, but imagine how many new playthroughout there will be).

No villan arc for Salvador sir, I could see it though as he's crazy as hell but even with his insanity he's still not evil if I recall correctly. Like he's evil to Hyperion because he's cannibalized people before (probably Hyperion personal) but he's never just killed someone innocent unless he's had a reason (don't mention quest because damn near every game has a quest where you kill someone/something just because)

But a digistruct-arena type boss fight where you could fight the other vault hunters would be dope as hell and a good work around without making everyone evil. And they could just say that it's a simulation to test your skills

I’d like to see a mechanic where you can extract parts off legendaries(destroying it in the process) and swap it to another of the same legendary for eridium That way, when you’re farming for specific parts, you can build out the gun with the rejects that have 1 of the parts you need

That's a little too easy in my opinion. At best it should be like the BL3 reroll machine but for parts OR the grinder from presequel.

Id like to see a digistruct arena type dlc but you fight the other vault hunters as bosses. Lore wise it would be a digistruct arena where the vault hunters could test their skills against the previous one to get prepared for the coming war the watcher was talking about in the pre-sequal. Since its a simulation they could even bring back old popular bosses.

If BL4's vault hunters are as involved with the story as they were hinted at in the PAX Panel, then I wouldn't mind no DLC vault hunters. It'll make for a more solid story than having to always account for different characters and stretching the narrative thin. It only works in BL2/TPS because each character is interchangeable in the narrative. But if each BL4 VH is /specifically/ made for the story, is in cutscenes, goes through an arc, etc. then it makes more sense to focus on those four.

1: A better Engineer/Soldier type Moze was fun but not as fun as Wilhelm who wasn't as fun as Gaige and I want this downhill slide to stop. 2: if this has multiple planets let us go to Eden-5 and crush the Holloways (Gaige's archenemies) into toothpaste. I still remember being annoyed when Borderlands 3 took us to Eden-6 but we weren't allowed to go next door and go Holloway hunting. 3: Instead of each Vault Hunter finding the same gun in their first chest have them find a low level gun that suits the playstyle developers expect players to use with that Vault Hunter. Edit: Wait there are people out there who don't like Gaige?!

1. can't really agree cause I thought Willhelm was boring overall and Gaige's actionskill was too glitchy so I didn't enjoy her either. 2. didn't know about the Eden-5 lore but this sounds amazing! 3. This is certainly a minor spice up that I wouldn't mind having. I like Gaige as a character but as a playable I never got over her actionskill glitching out on me

6:55 Damn, that's crazy you included this but that was just the surface level idea version The full version was an idea I had but was only half baked at BL3 launch time and also thought the PS4/X1 generation of console might not be able to handle so I shelved it. However with some other ideas from the Borderlands community I saw from the various videos, I began to think how this could tie into Shiny hunting for weapons and gear and be a bit more of a cohesive experience in keeping track (in-game) of your progress in regards to farming. The biggest idea (not mine) from the community I saw was the “Geardex”, so below are my thoughts on how this could work and add another thing to end game for the franchise. Initially this idea was for BL3 but I think the update train for this game has long since departed.... so BL4 seems to be out future hope. Geardex, Display Room, Shiny Weapons/Gear and Choose your God Roll? Part 1: Geardex: Each Boss/Named Enemy once killed and item drop picked up will get logged into Geardex Noting the Planet, map, area where gear was found Tracking; Non Shiny No. of times picked up, Shiny No. of times picked up, Total No. of times picked up. Gear itself on info card will specify if it from a world drop or from dedicated drop source QoL: Optionally disable this from item card as they can already be quite cluttered. Each area to have a "Undiscovered items" count until fully explored and logged into Geardex Intention: Encourage players to explore the whole game areas, learn about drop chances and to farm for gear Reward for 100% Geardex: A Shiny weapon trinket, once attached to a gun will double shiny drop chance from 0.1% to 0.2% (Even a weapon you're not actively holding, so 1 of the 3 guns not being held or one in your weapon slots) Intention: Give the choice to the player if they want to increase their shiny odds (See Part 3) Part 2: Display Room (Like Diamond key room or Sanctuary player quarters, only MUCH bigger) Much like the display wall in your Sanctuary Quarters, the Diamond key room displays 3 walls of legendaries which is a lot, but how about a wall/room that has a dedicated slot for each unique/legendary weapon/gear of the game? Collectionists alike love to show off their collection but for the most part our collections are just in the bank never really to be seen. Intention: Showing off... , also a place to choose your god roll once a shiny variant is obtained. (See Part 4) Only downside is can the game handle it? Last count was 387 different weapons/gear, can this be displayed in one area without being a massive performance issue? Part 3: Shiny Hunting: Shiny percentage (Arbitrarily 0.1% placeholder but can be changed) Can be done from the very start of the game, can only be dropped from dedicated sources (Bosses/Named enemies) Unlike weapon skins dropped in game that you can unlock, the Shiny skin can only be obtained from hunting it from dedicated sources. Intention: Optional End game content to chase The shiny item itself should be bright, sparkle on swap to it, perhaps emit a particle effect of some kind and maybe even make a sound when swapped to (with a cool down timer to prevent from spamming and being annoying) Intention: If you're gonna show off... SHOW OFF! "Mercy 900" Rule (Optionally disable) For the true dedicated hardcore gamers only :p After 900 pickups of preferred farmed weapon/gear with this rule active without finding a shiny variant at the base 0.1% (or 0.2% with shiny trinket attached), it will start to increase shiny drop chance by 0.1% per pickup until a 10% cap to drop a shiny is reached (around 1000ish average farms total) Geardex will separately log how many shiny pickups of each item you do. (with a 3rd "total amount" count too) Intention: To be a ( again, optional but on by default) fail-safe guarantee reward for the effort of players while being as accessible to as many players as possible (giving a chance to full time workers out there who wish to take part) Part 4: Choosing your god roll? Congratulations, you successfully farmed that shiny after 998 attempts! You have your shiny, now what? Put it on your display room to show off to your friends? Go shooting stuff with it? Sure, you can do these things I won't stop you. But... What if? Now from the Geardex or the display room, inspect this gun/item, tinker around looking at it parts (if they're customisable and not fixed) in the search of your preferred God Roll, finally you decide and you lock this choice in and "Mark as God Roll". Now your Shiny Farm will also be your God Roll Farm, this will have the same (optional) "Mercy 900" rule as regular shiny hunting Intention: To again reward long high effort attempts of obtaining Shinies/God Rolls before people give up entirely (and again give a chance to full time workers)

Odd but good quality of life thing. If maps in Borderlands 4 are going to be as big and have as much elevation as Borderlands 3. I would like to have a visual way point, not just on the mini map but as you look around. It's gotta be just right though. Not too intrusive but good enough to tell where you gotta be. Worse case scenario, make it a setting to turn off for those who don't want it. Actually kind of surprised we haven't gotten this feature yet (Technically it is in the game, but when you're like 10 feet away from it, which is redundant, should be reversed really). Especially considering how it can be hard to tell where to go at times purely based on the mini map. Would help with opening the map less often. Eden-6 is the worst offender of this I feel. Repeatedly said by a lot of people, but Legendaries should be toned down. I think that legendaries should be well, legendaries. Good performance and gimmicky. Legendaries should feel at least some what viable, even if through convoluted means (I haven't personally tested each and every weapon, but I think it's fair to say there's quite a bit of legendaries in the BL3 that feel extremely if not somewhat underwhelming). Any weapon that is just gimmicky without the performance should just be uniques in my opinion. I think bringing back excitement for seeing a legendary drop would greatly benefit the gameplay loop. Dedicated drops of uniques and legendaries from bosses would be cool. World drop legendaries in my opinion should basically be in their own loot pool, great but not on par to farmed legendaries in terms of performance Also, no shop legendaries, I never really understood the point of this. Another Quality of Life, allow for your friends to come with you when you save/quit to menus. To make for quicker farming with friends.

I mean the shop legendaries are only world drops I'm pretty sure (if not then I think thats how it should be). I like your way point idea especially with the toggle for it, definitely need that! The save and quit to menu thing I addresses in my video about my desired features, I said they should put in the enemy spawners from Wonderlands Redux. If you don't know I recommend checking out the video and there is footage of it in the background or just check out my whole Redux endgame video if you're curious. I heard one interesting idea which marries up 4th skill trees, class sharing from Wonderlands and keeps the door open to DLC characters (although might make characters feel slightly less special). Each character has 3 skill trees and you play them this way throughout the story to get a feeling for them. At the end of the story, you unlock the ability to choose one of the skill trees from another character as your 4th. Each character gets to build from 4 trees and they don't have to create 4 new trees if they make a new vault hunter because the 4th tree will already exist. It would make it that much more important to make the trees balanced (and have them all be powerful/viable so none would be left by the wayside). I'm not sure if Gearbox could pull it off.

Ask me when BL3 came out I would've preferred a new character. Playing through the whole series again since 3 dropped I realized i didn't like 1/2 of the dlc characters that came out through the series. Meanwhile in 3 new trees actually got me to play characters and made me experiment further with current characters (now have every VH maxed rank). Both is great, but I am leaning towards new trees now

Great reasoning that I haven't really heard yet but kinda shores up my line of thinking that new trees are more of a net and will capture everyone whereas characters are a hit or miss situation. Some may love a character and the way they play while others will hate it and miss out. With a 4th tree everyone has 4x the odds of finding something new that they like.

Give melee builds some melee weapons... I'll take it being the alt fire mode, give let me have a swordfish to swing at enemies. Zane's digiclone and Fl4k's pets are great, but lets go above and beyond with a "Twin" vault hunter. Control both characters and swap between them, double the action skills, double the guns, double the fun. DLC characters are great, but since you have to buy them it really does feel like a lot of content locked behind a paywall. 4th skill trees feel less like that since it's only 1/4th a character. Give the player 1 customizable gun, you pick the type of gun / what ammo it shoots / the stats / ect. Have the part(s) dropped from bosses or quest rewards. You shouldn't have the player scrap parts off other guns like the grinder / re-roll machine, that leaves the player open to RNG. Just let the player build a nice weapon that isn't going to be top 10 by max level / mayhem. Let me customize enemies or allies looks. If I can change my character why can't I change others. Why do I need mods to fight John Wick or Master Chief when I could pay for it with a DLC.

I would like more equippable weapon slots from 4 to maybe 6 or 8. There are too many guns to choose from. Also I would like more planets to visit. I would love to have a insta sell option in the field so I don't have to carry high value guns and run to vending machines to sell.

Okay so my main idea and really the one thing I hope for is interactions and things with the other manufacturers. Jakobs and Maliwan were cool additions and seeing some of the concept art for the other companies makes me want that even more. But I think I’m just excited to see what they will do with 4.

“DLC characters weren’t popular enough.” Even though they literally put Krieg in the movie instead of Brick and Mordecai LOL. 4th skill trees are significantly less interesting (to me) than a new character and offer very little incentive to play the game more.

I like the idea of both they should literally just add like one new sick ass vault Hunter and then give them all 4th skill trees. Like on character that you can’t not, not enjoy. Though either the fact that the hunters will be in cutscenes it may be hard to add a fifth.

I know what I want most... ALL SURVIVING VAULT HUNTERS TO UNITE! And for all of them to be playable! I know I am asking for A LOT with this one. The olderst Vault Hunters Brick and Morty would need some SERIOUS revamps. Skills for brick could include Pulling out Legendary weapons such as Sledg's Hammer! or his two largest organs, his fists! Morichia could absolutely be similar to Fl4k with using it as a pet, gives call outs for extra crit/status with snipers. Timothy, Nisha, Athena Could defiantly all be WAY better with extra Abilities! (Not super famiar with Tps) Axton could defininatly NEED some extra mods for his Turret!! Salvador is awesome and some extra gunzerking abilities! Gaige got Deathtrap upgraded the EFF up in love guns and tenticals, Zero got Cool new sword on Promethia, Krieg has technically won his mental battle with the psycho in his brain... So I think that opens him up to having A psycoside/saneside duality thing... Zane, Moze, Fl4k and Amara kick all the ass! I want my old Vault Hunters to be on their level! AND BRING ON THE WAR!!!!!!

I mean how would you know if you don't try it? I saw Gaige and thought she looked cool, bought her and then didn't like how she played. I feel like its difficult to know how a character feels without being able to play as them.

@@titansans2956 Most places give a very short amount of time to return something, steam only gives 2 hours and I can assure you I personally can't tell if I like a character in 2 hours. Typically I don't know till at least toward end of campaign but most times I want to try endgame with them before I say yay or nay

We need melle weapons and combos if they wanna introduce melee build. I feel like as it is, melee feels like almost usless and boring. Y do melee build when u have cool laser weapons :o. Or just drop the idea of melle bc

@@yourstatistacs ^Never tried it. Maybe he will be my pick for the BL" playthrough. Nevertheless Wonderlands was a great experience for me so I´d love if you could do your own char in BL4. And once you comleted the questline there should be like an adventure mode, that u can pick aswell for new characters where u do stuff independent from questline. A bit like they did in Diablo 3. I loved that. Maybe salvaging guns for weapon parts, that way u could improve / personalise your own guns would be aweasome as well.

@@Thegamingfisch I can't agree with farming parts, I like classic farm for weapons and thats it. If you like making your own character then I'd say look forward to Wonderlands 2 because supposedly that will happen. I think Borderlands is sticking to its formula with 4 vault hunters and Wonderlands will have its own formula which includes create a character.

@@yourstatistacs I picture it to tedious, but never tried it. Just finishes Presequep, and the dlc is just amazing. When I get to 3 I'll max one out kind of like the scaling of mayhem. But hear me out on this: A engame feature that works like a roguelike with bosses all x levels. And no invincibility phases on bosses, omg I hated these in 3.

I think it'd be cool if they made the very first playthroughs difficulty higher because i swear to god its unbearably easy and it almost made me quit the first time i played, like i suck at all video games and it was extruciating, also bring back dark humor Borderlands 3 felt almost like a 11yo trying to be edgy while Borderlands 2 kept coming with incest, murder with out sounding like it was trying too hard. Also the story sucked. Id love a dark story with the bleak apocalypse of the world vibe of bl1

More Masculinity is a must the games have become too woke. Also i just wanna sea pearls and actual alien weapons not weapon parts entire alien guns that are rare and uniquely powerful. I miss borderlands 1 and playing with only alien weapons was so fun.
