VLDL DND starts. Rob “I dm for a group of thirteen year olds and I thought you were them for a moment. 2+ years later “the long ship with bulbous engines on the back elongates and thrusts forwards and backwards through a black hole”
Alan is impressive i gotta say ..very quick on his feet. Their dynamics are top notch. And the blood turning the white pixels of the shirt red was freaking clever- very impressive.
I'm so addicted to VLDL playing D&D. Just finished rewatching Descent Into Avernus, Adventures of Azerim, Isolation Games. Now I'm watching Bored TTRPG one shot few days after watching the 5 parts 😂. Last year I was browsing the main VLDL channel and I saw Descent Into Avernus and by that time I was not interested in D&D, but I gave it a try. When I finished the playlist I was speechless. I was a little sad at the last episode (You know, like when you are watching a series and there is no ''Next Episode''), but then I saw this channel with over 100 more episodes and I immidiately started watching only this 😄 When I started I knew nothing about D&D, but thanks to this channel I have learnt the basic rules. Can't wait to get my friends together and try D&D by myself 😁
There are a LOT of references to the Bored series (and even a couple refs to the D&D series). I just finished watching all 296 episodes earlier today. Highly recommended. Then come back and watch this again to get all the jokes and references.
At work right now but will definitely watch this later at the gym, also can't wait for the regular campaign to be back next week. Much love to you guys❤❤❤
Adam: "Sir, this looks like a console from the '70s and I don't even think they had gaming consoles in the '70s." Ben: "Ever hear of Pong?!" Yeah, we had a Sears Telegames Super Pong IV four player Pong console in the 70's. And the Atari 2600. I still have the 2600a and the Atari Model C-380 Video Pinball console in our collection. We loaned the Pong set out to some neighbors years ago, but they moved away without returning it. I was sad. =(
I think there's a lot to be said for creating a game that operates within your body of content like this. It's something like a series of inside jokes through a new lens, where the audience gets some degree of dramatic irony anticipation because they know the work and the characters. To then both cater to that and subvert that, well it makes it more than just content fan service filler, and moves into the realm of a transformative excursion. The audience knows that this is a Wacky Bored Adventure, but we get a sense (from the people who made the characters) of how the characters work outside of exactly scripted settings. There's a lot to be said for exploring known entities like your medium and characterizations while also providing a new insight vector into the characters, world, and stories. A lot, but if you're just here to watch the haha funni vldl dudes (which is 100% valid for the platform and ecosystem) then you might find that you are starting to really miss the smell of Greg's shop.
40:52 This tangent that started with Ben using the Cerebro helmet, continued with Rob saying that it makes his stomach hurt, and ended with Rowan doing a perfect impression of entering the Matrix had me laughing harder than anything else on this platform ever has
I should have not been eating and drinking during a lot of these parts. ESPESILY at the "opening door" part about died trying to chew. I love these series
Again, absolutely hyped to see the new Tavern! 🤩I'm also hyped for any other oneshots and whatnot you might create in your new DnD realm. Love it for you and love it for us!
I'm posting this here in the hope that somebody sees it; I'm caught up with Adventures in Azerim as far as the last supercut. This has probably been mentioned in comments already, in which case I apologise, but have any of the gang yet remembered the poor chap they left imprisoned under Endelyn's Theatre? They promised to come back for him, and instead forgot about him, and as the theatre has been vacated he is presumably now on the verge of starving to death (assuming he was able to find some source of fluids). (Will watch this afterwards, just feeling a lot of concern for that guy/the comedic value of seeing what Rob will do about their forgetting about hmi)
I can see two potential scenario's with that guy.. either a DM call back due to some other event to remind them they forgot to let him out :) bit like how Dirks mini quest was handled... or he actually turns up randomly to berate the team for forgetting all about him along we some hilarious story of how he managed to extricate himself from that Oubliette they left him in.
I love the color pink but I didn't expect such a pink backdrop for this video. But also again I'm watching eight months after the fact of this being released. Wtf ever. Idc I love the actors, I love the characters, I love the color scheme. Regardless of flesh and bone .one love still means one love no matter wtf language you may be speaking at the time.
Thanks for the glimpse of the tavern. The new set looks amazing. I am so happy for you, that you have this now. And happy to see new dnd content next week!
I admit I was surprised when I saw a compilation instead of a new D&D episode on their new tavern, but they always make compilations of their table sessions so this was to be expected. In the community post they did say D&D would be back the 31st (which admittedly I forgot for a moment), but looking at other comments there are lots of people who don't read those posts. A shame, really, those who don't read the community posts missed out on some fantastic fanart.
This inspired me to break my son into ttrpg's, I am going to do an adventure based on a shrunk down version of him escaping his messy room. Calling it Escape from the Elip'tihs!
Hey @Viva La Dirt League D&D or anybody, what's the name of this track which starts playing at 33:05 and where i could I find it? Typing "theme of your generic admiral character from retro space video game" didn't help 😂
Omg the people in the comments suck! They said they were releasing the super cut this week and DnD resumes on august 31st. I get if you didn’t know and got confused being disappointed but Jesus Christ. This is free content!!! It takes hours of play time, shooting green screen and then editing! Be grateful!
They said last week that the bored one shot compilation would be today and the tavern next week. They always post a one shot compilation at the end of a session.
@@richarddunlop3332 thanks. I was starting to think that I missed that while watching the last episode. Still they could mention it at the end of bored campain. I was waiting the whole week for a new tavern😔.
This was great. I was hoping for karen to only be hurt by psychological damage. Power of the gold shirt or something. Then rowan couldve demanded the white shirt to fight her in a way adam coundnt
Actually, I'm surprised that a two-and-a-half hour supercut of episodes that we've all seen recently already has over 5.6K views in just eight hours. I knew they were posting the supercut today, but the peek at the tavern at the end of last week made it feel like we were going to get to see the tavern today.
1:50:50 I disagree, the invention of tech or its functuons is science, building/maintaining it is engineering, and OPERATING it is security. The fact that it's a gun doesn't change the fundemental nature of the problem which is that he's trying to engineer a method of delivering energy. Being that engineering is applied science, a science officer should either not have the increased difficulty but no extra die, or get the added difficulty but keep the extra die. Just like how you said that using the ships weapons was a security job for Rowan, the same should apply here. Security is the applied combat engineering. So likewise the security officer should get a half benefit when working on weapons, just like a science officer should get half benefit when working on engineering.
Howled laughing multiple times. Can't wait to see more one shots and other content from y'all. Rob is a genius, I swear! Frankly they all are, but the way Rob ties all the hilarity together and rolls with the punches is absolutely next level.
The moaning doors remind me of the doors on The Heart of Gold ship from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it was their pleasure to open for you, and their satisfaction to close with the knowledge of a job well done
Here you can see a case study on people not accessing information that is readily available to them and then complaining when the thing they didn't know about happens as was explained...
@@touchofstrange Thanks for the info man, I also was especting this week episode... it is sad but at the same time awesome to know the release date! I hope the make long episodes per weeeekkkkkk!!!!! like 40-50 min an episode... for starters... 😛
Robert mentioned something about who would like cold porridge. Actually, back in the old days, cooked porridge was poured into a porridge drawer to cool to make packable food for eating later as a portable meal. From what I understand, they would scoop some out or cut it into sections (if solid, like an energy bar).
@@Dinnye01 Only if people actually engage with community posts though. The previous episode did kind of heavily suggest D&D would be back this week, so it was a reasonable assumption if you didn't think about it too much.
@@cja1374 That is entirely youtube's fault. In my feed, there is no display of community messages (but there IS a huge display of content from channels I ACTIVELY FUCKING BLOCKED (like goddamn PragerU), including community messages). You cannot expect the average user to do more than 3 clicks into a system to find an answer - and it is the task of the service provider to accomodate it's UX to this. What I am saying that I don't blame people on a video platform for not looking for TEXT POSTS. They are here to watch videos. So if it is not pushed to them, they will be none the wiser - and it is not their fault. As for suggestions... they did state things clearly. Also, at the end of every session, there is a supercut. So older members have no excuse. But I do agree, that for new people, this may well be a huge deal. But it is not the fault of the guys, it is the fault of the shitty platform youtube is.
wait.. was Adam referring to Lexx? wierd bug shaped ship zombie guy, free-willed pleasure slave & floating robot head among the crew, along with random janitor, weird psychic slug thing as the bbeg.
I regret not watching the one shot as it cames out, turns out this is a masterpiece. Almost the whole time I was like *Leonardo pointing at the screen*. This is such a laidback, full of reference (on the show and about other *things* as well. Brilliant!
I finished watching all the videos on VLDL channel, including shorts, and was desperately looking for more videos from the guys, when suddenly I discovered this second channel! It was like revealing a bous level in a game! I like this, so funny! Great acting! ❤ Cerebral helm 😂😂😂😂 I wouldn't have pressed Q often withing a Star Trek-ish space )
