Yes please, more videos. I love your tutorial and your personality; great fun. As for what exactly, perhaps a tutorial on compositing with particles effects; You cover that here to an extent and you did a great tut on compositing stock VFX explosions that was really great. Generating particle effects is not hard but making them look realistic in different situations is challenging. So perhaps more tips on doing just that. Thank you very much for this tutorial in any case.

Just amazing amazing! I have done a bunch of videos on stand alone particle illusion. And I purchased the program many years ago when it was 300. Since borisfx purchased it and reworked it Iam just blown away by it. I try to go through a bunch of the effects every week. Thanks much for this great tutorial!!!

Yes, Boris FX seem to be working through upgrading all the plugins & apps they have purchased from other vendors. This is one such product that has been updated. Unfortunately, I find the idea behind the product difficult to use as I prefer to see effects added to clips only useful when you can see them over the background clip.
Dude! I just saw your channel and subd for sure.. I'm an old 3dxmax guy AE/PS/PPro guy and have been looking to get some inspiration for my YT channel which is NOT ABOUT stuff at ALL!.. But I just cranked up my Greenscreen and lights and getting back into it now. Thanks for posting your stuff my friend. DMAX motion simulator channel.
Does the standalone version have a posterization effect built in? I know you can add posterization in aftereffects but it would be really cool to have it in the standalone version to create cartoon style exposions and effects.
It does not, even the premium version doesn’t really have effects ‘built in’. However you can change your particles to have a cartoon look to begin with so the final effect will have the same look and feel :)
It's a significant upgrade from the old version, and I found it really gpu memory hungry and not that stable on my older hardware, unlike the last version that worked just fine.

Thanks for letting me know! I inserted a 30 second clip extra into the introduction and it shifted all my timelines. I thought I had updated them but maybe I missed something copy/pasting. All fixed now :)

Hm, not sure to be honest. The free version isn't a plugin so that'll work no matter what version (or tool) you are using, but I'm not 100% on the Premium Plugin. Would be worth contacting Boris FX to double check
In Mocha Pro you can 'Render' the modules directly using the Cogwheel icon / arrows underneath the preview panel. once rendered, you can the Export Rendered Clip... directly from within Mocha
@@SurfacedStudio the boris FX channel said that they were 2d, but the emitters made them 3d or something. I already have the particle emitters, if I've downloaded them right though. Also, isn't it a little hard to animate blindly without being able to see the video you will use?

Standalone means it 'stands alone' as in it's not a plugin, it's not an effect, it's a standalone application. There is a premium (paid) version of Particle Illusion available that works as an effect inside your host application. You can find more details here: borisfx.com/products/particle-illusion/#compare
BorisFX really needs to properly incorporate their tools into Blackmagic's Fusion software. At the very least, Fusion Studio, if not Davinci Resolve. The interface in Fusion is so absurdly superior to their standalone software interface. I think they are losing sales because they haven't acted on this yet.
