BORUTO CHEATS IN THE CHUNIN EXAMS?! || METAL VS SHINKI! || Boruto REACTION: Episode 57. This Boruto reaction phase two of the Chunin exams officially begin! This time all of the teams have to face each other in 3v3's in capture the flag game mode! A bunch of teams were eliminated that I didn't think would be - like Metal Lee's team, Sumire's team, and a bunch of other teams. BUT Metal Lee did give it his all against Shinki, but it just wasn't enough. Metal Lee was outclassed by Shinki's Iron Sand! Team 7 went up against the mist triplets, and Boruto was facing a 9v5 with clones. Boruto ended up using the gadget and CHEATING in order to secure the victory, fooling everyone, including Ten Ten. Boruto using this gadget is gonna come with serious repercussions one day, I just know it!!

Well it’s just because Boruto never knew why he really wanted to become a ninja and just wanted his father to achknowledge him and everyone had high expectations because he’s narutos son the movie description says this to be true that all of that made him feel inferior and doubt his own strength therefore why he didn’t use the (spoiler warning). . Vanishing rasengan he just doubted his capabilities they wanted to make his character more complex

Small detail but important to remember Boruto's character: right before he used it to cheat he actually thought about it. In that moment, it shows that he not only thinks about his father's approval but living up to the expectations of others and not letting his team down. I think its important to acknowledge that constant pressure of living up to the expectations others put on him. It's something I personally relate to so I really feel for Boruto. He's still wrong for what he did but that's why I really like his character because he isn't perfect.

I appreciate how most people here are understanding Boruto despite being disappointed at him, the writing has its faults and it's packed with inconsistencies but for all of us who really watched from the start, despite of him cheating we all know what he's capable of. I'm not gonna explain anymore because of these people already explained excellently but it's always the best to understand the motivation behind a character's actions. One thing is that he is a genius but his insecurity is getting the best of him in this arc.

All Otsutsuki that we know of are stronger than normal shinobi. Sure I may have exaggerated but they're more godlike than anything in the Shinobi world.

boruto reminds me of damian wayne (batman’s son) and how people didn’t like him that much when he was first introduced cause he was a little bratty. but then they went through decent character development and alot of people like him now. same with boruto. both are very misunderstood characters, and a handful of people still don’t like them to this day. but to me, they’re both really good characters

Boruto isn't actually much of a brat, his issues are legitimate, and he's a genuinely cool and social person that helps people and his friends. The only issue people have is that he has an issue with Naruto, because they get into fanboy mode and don't care about Boruto's issues with Naruto from Boruto's perspective. Even if Boruto was wrong, which is debateable as Naruto isn't the best father, as he says himself, having a tunneled perspective is not only realistic, but very common. These people complaining about Boruto as a character, fail to grasp that the characters in the show don't have the view of every character as we do, and can't seperate their emotions from it. They also want every character to be as logical as possible, which isn't realistic in the real world.

I think where most people got upset is Boruto just started cheating and that is not something we are use to seeing growing with Naruto. Problem is Boruto is gifted with wind, water and electricity which is basically a kekei touta and it is super rare. It is just that he doesn’t bother to expand on it but rather cheat. He even mastered the rasengan in days that could change chakra natures subconsciously. Boruto does not get the same reaction as Naruto because it is does not feel the same. I think the fighting is sick but like i feel no weight in those battles. And Boruto getting otstsuki powers i’m the manga. He getting everything. Also, in the manga it hints that Sauske and Naruto are going to die. Boruto wearing his headband and sword. Kawaki saying i will send where i sent your father. Like how you expect naruto fans to accept the fact that 2 of their favorite characters are gonna die in someone else’s show. Including the Uchiha Shin thing where Naruto disabling Kurama mode after getting stabbed by a sword. Like wtf bro. Naruto could dodge at lighting speeds but can’t dodge a sword but then Naruto and Sasuke got warmed up and kick momoshiki ass. I grew up with Naruto and seeing Boruto doing this just makes me upset which is why i don’t like it but i will still watch it in honor of Naruto and Sasuske. You guys liked Boruto which i am fine with but you gotta admit when Boruto was shitting on Naruto about how he was lazy and he doesn’t care about them is where we got upset even though we understand his perspective. Like boy you know what your father did.

The gadget literally could save lives when in dire situations...from the rasengan to whatever else. I get it but that gadget is both life saving and altering. Not everyone can train their ass of to learn the Rasengan. From having a large chakra pool to being a talent. After all their is a reason "filler" ninja with no crazy jutsu exist. They probably lack both and will never learn the rasengan naturally.

Just like any new technology, there are benefits and drawbacks. Scientific Ninja Tools, not just Shinobi Gauntlets, but prosthetics, flash grenades, medical spray, etc, are a huge boon to shinobi and even civilians. However they can also be used by terrorists and criminals.

It’s part of what’s known as an arms race. If they wanted to make something like that just to save lives, they could build a gadget that can do the same thing as this only catered only to be a rescue or defense too, not a weapon. Not every ninja needs every jutsu in order to get out of a sticky situation. They just need a jutsu that they can use to be developed to meet criteria for facing all types of obstacles. Such as Mitsuki’s snake arm and Shikadai’s shadow paralysis jutsu both accomplishing the same thing. They didn’t need to have each other’s jutsu. They may not all have every power. And yet all the powers they do have are equal but different. Even those like Rock Lee or Might Guy are still capable of honing what abilities they DO have to become god-like and fight someone like Madara Uchiha in Jinchuuriki sage form.

What people dont realize is when Boruto had those flashbacks before using the tool he was NOT thinking about for himselfe, he was thinking about his "hated" father to make him proud and get his attention and what was really wholesome is that he thought about Sarada since he knows exactly that she wants to be the Hokage. I dont know yes its bad that he is cheating you can be mad to him too for that but i just cant hate him since he was not using it for beeing selfish.

Btw both Naruto's and Boruto's personalities have been exaggeratedly written in this arc, showing their lowest point of relationship to create tension and eventually for major character developments and forming an understanding in their relationship finally, so you might see them act certain ways in this arc, which is not really them on a regular day, but the pay off from this arc is beautiful especially for Naruto and Boruto's relationship, and the main plot of this show for the future 🔥

Though you could argue that this arc is just the culmination of what Boruto has been experiencing not having Naruto around, the pressure of the exams, previously not having a strong enough resolve etc. It kinda all leads into this arc. I agree with Naruto tho, he was written a certain way to advance the plot.

Im actually glad they wrote boruto to cheat and stuff so when he inevitably gets caught or if the gadget fails him he would learn a big lesson Its actually good for character development. Though hes a prodigy they dont have to give him same storyline or motivation or resolve as naruto else it will be just repitition. Hell theres lots of similar things already in boruto so its good if they change it up once in a while.

Yeah Boruto does have 3 chakra natures (water, wind & lightning is his natural affinity. His name is referenced to a lightning bolt as well as the tool bolt), Mitsuki has 2 (wind & lightning) and Sarada has 3 (lightning, wind & fire). The main gripe is all the new generation are extremely skilled on the level of chunin (Kakashi said Boruto was a chunin level before he officially was a genin) and jonin at this age but they don't have the firepower that the previous generation has at the same age. Still, they have more potential for the most part

This is not a spoiler since it happened in the Movie and was not included in the Show. The tool was introduced by Konohamaru who was instructed with testing it during low-level missions. Konohamaru used the Nara Shadow Paralysis on a bear they were hunting, this in my opinion is the good side of the tool. It gives ninja more flexible arsenal of jutsus to use on a mission, like in this case when the SP is great for capturing the target. The tool would be something useful in a war when winning is necessary, but it should not be used in skill tournaments. I can also understand that the opposition to this tool might sound a little bit backwards. Like, "You should learn how to use slingshot or a bow instead of using a gun!" or "Back in my day, we had to practice for years to learn this jutsu!" The tool definitely takes away from any story, but if Naruto was real life scenario then I can uderstand how it would imemdiately become a standard issue for the military.

Boruto has 3 releases so far, Water, Wind, Lightning - he uses the wind more often and the lightning sometimes but he will use the water style when he will fight naruto at the academy for a demonstration.

Heisuten you missed the thing that the gadget only did the water jutsu, the lightning jutsu was Borutos own jutsu. Also yes he has water affinity next to the lightning and wind ones, and that is already a huge thing. 3 way affinity shinobis are INSANELY rare.

Heisuten, shinki’s kekkei genkai is magnet release, it’s the same thing that gaara,gaaras’ father and the 3 kazekage had. The only thing is that they don’t manipulate the same sand, but in theory, gaara could use the iron sand too And it’s confirmed in a novel that he can control the “gold sand” that his father used.

Just imagine if the Otsutsuki didn’t intervene. Without a chance to redeem himself Boruto’s life would have probably become a living Hell, probably even worst than Naruto’s childhood. By one side he’ll be scolded by he’s Family and bullied by the Village and friends on the other. Nothing hurts more than to be hated by everyone including your own Family. Naruto unknowingly would have ruin Boruto’s life and they’ve wouldn’t be no one to blame but himself. He’s hatred towards he’s Father would grew exponentially to probably run away and go Rogue or suffer a similar fate to that of Sakumo Hatake, Kakashi’s father. 😢

in naruto wiki shows that Boruto can use three chakra natures: Wind, Lightning and Water. Wind release comes naturally to him due to it being his father's main affinity . At this stage having to able to use three chakra nature ,is awesome ,isn't it

The reason why boruto cheats is because he’s the hokage’s kid and many people have lots of expectations for him. If boruto loses in the earlier rounds or loses in the finals, it wouldn’t just be a bad look on boruto but also on naruto. If boruto were to lose it would make naruto look weak

The ninja tool is a good invention. Like for example if you're fighting in a war and your chakra has gone low due to intense battles, the ninja tool will come in clutch. Yeah it might be not as powerful as a "legit jutsu" but it is better than nothing.

Suddenly the writers forgot that he developed his own jutsus for Wind and Lightning release that can defeat most of these genins and they played his character by emphasizing his insecurity and longing for his father so they can have a valid reason to make him look like he's weak against even the likes of Shikadai when in reality, he's on par or just a level below Shinki. Iirc even Kakashi recognizes Boruto as a prodigy at his age so it makes sense that even other Jonins would just write it down as that and assume that he is the son of both Hokage and a Hyuga. People keep forgetting that Boruto is a combination of two 'broken' bloodlines-- Hyuga and Uzumaki not to mention the 4th as his grandad. Too much pressure he reverted to the 'i don't care attitude'. Heck the guy passes written exams like nothing. Boruto is the classic unmotivated savant, just like Shikamaru was in og naruto.

To be fair TenTen didnt grow up with Naruto, and she always saw the best of him not the worst. She was a year ahead like neji and lee so she wasnt with the rest of the class who saw that naruto was trash as a kid. Besides that they hardly spent any time together outside of filler
