Boruto usually doesnt cheat, they make it a point to have him refuse to cheat before this arc at multiple points and have him rely on his own techniques but Narutos contant degradation of his confidence led to him doubting himself. A parent is supposed to build up their kids confidence but Naruto keeps on breaking Boruto down by never acknoledging how much Boruto grew. Dude learnt more techniques and chakra natures in 51 episodes than Naruto did in 500+ but Naruto doesnt complinent him once on his progress.

@@stevenviljoen160 I know right? My thought's about Boruto are not all negative and him being spoiled, I also notice all the positive things he's achieved at his age compared to Naruto. When did Naruto ever degrade Boruto? (Please state which episode/chapter in manga) *parents should build up their children's confidence* yes they should. All I said was "I really hate Boruto here, him making excuses about Naruto not being there for him", then again he's still 12. And yes 500+ is a lot. I also believe that Naruto should give him attention ever so often, like bruh, dude can make clones, should've used a clone to do the work/some of the work and then the Original gets to go home and bond with his family. All information that the clone has gathered/ experience goes back to the original.

@@edsellucilla6941 The degradation is subtle so its not weird you didnt notice it. If you re watch this arc/movie pay attention to Boruto and how he talks about missions and his power He is constantly talking about how he wants higher ranked missions and how his powers and abilities are growing to Naruto seeking Narutos aproval or even a complement and every time Naruto will talk over him to Konohamaru or preach to Boruto never acknoledging his growth. The entire arc when talking to Naruto he also refers to himself as a adult and a man (to compensate) and Naruto doubles down on treating him as a kid (turning Borutos fist bump into a head pat etc.) Its also why Boruto asks Katasuke if people see him as just a child and Katatsuke tells him exactly what he wants to hear and telling him people are just jealous/intimidated by him. This in turns makes him desperate and sensitive hence him overreacting when Sasuke calls his rasengan small and it affects his mind and skills as well like with the ink test (he could easily have escaped using shadow clones/Wind Nature like the Boruto stream but he just gave up because his self confidence was shot) and its why he so quickly relies on the tool when his own abilities would have been good enough in many situations. Degradation isnt always insulting someone or yelling at someone, if you constantly (especially as a parent) treat your kids as a invalid or dumb their confidence and self worth will get shattered like Borutos here.
