@@AutobahnDan LOL Dan. It is like a v e always says just open that thing right up get the warranty out of the way so that you own it. Something like that anyway
Junk From Work yeah, if I was into Rc cars or vape or something, I might get a Basic welder from Amazon. I just don’t do enough of this type or work.. thanks man!
So it appears to me that Bosch Cuts corners on the battery packs and in a way that is just pure laziness because it's not money-saving what I'm talking about here is the way that they spot weld the tabs on the battery cells they're only putting to spot welds on each of the cell connections as opposed to almost all other tool brand battery packs have 4 spot welds per cell connection
jason reynolds the lid must be the key factor here, it was super stuck to the tabs. The whole thing sandwiches pretty tight and tightly sealed, but extra welds would definitely be better!
Other than that issue, how do you like the core batteries? Is the run time better like they say it is? I got to use one of those 6.3 batteries a few weeks ago and it seemed pretty nice. I also like that they make a compact 4.0
Brandon so far I just have the freak to work with. I haven’t gone through any cycles yet. I’ve used the freak on a few jobs with the good battery and barely put a dent, maybe just 1-2 bars.
94 GT Coupe I remember having a hell of time trying to solder them tabs in the past! It’s scarier too! The battery heats up with a soldering iron. If I had more work like this, I would get one of those pulse soldering boxes with a control knob on it and get all geeked out like AVe! Lol
@@AutobahnDan I agree Dan I have soldered plenty of lithium cells in the past and the cell does heat up and if not done fast enough you will cause a limited life on your battery. Spot welding is definitely the way to go
94 I have soldered plenty of lithium cells in the past but Dan is right it does heat up the cell and that is because the cell quickly absorbed and dissipates the Heat from the iron. spot welding tabs is the way to go
I believe that your spot welder setup would have been effective if you just slightly modify your Technique. What I believe would work is if you had your positive and negative of your spot welder no more than 3/16 of an inch apart from each other rather than having the ground clipped to the edge of the workpiece and the positive being used for the actual spot weld. If you set it up as suggested then you would effectively be making 2 spot welds simultaneously from each polarity of your welder set up. My reasoning behind this is because you're going to get heat loss in the workpiece because of the distance that you have created between you're positive and negative terminals is too great for the load that is required for an instantaneous spot-weld. Instead I believe what is happening is the efficiencies or being lost through your work piece because the heat is dissipated rapidly instead of zapping the area fast and quick for trying to spot weld. I probably didn't work this thing very good manner I hope that you are understanding what I'm trying to say
jason reynolds yeah, that jumper cord is super long. I’m afraid of getting a pulse spot welder on Amazon because it may not get hot enough. Also because I have no space to keep a huge box around just to use it once a year! Lol
Why the fuck American use term (battery fuel gauge)? When speaking of electricity. Fuel has nothing do with it. Same as football field is not measuring unit!
RU-vid and their godforsaken algorithms stink why did this pop up in my feed it's like RU-vid has an AI and reads my I was just having one issue with one of the battery light's on mycore 4.0 my first one from 2019 and then your video ends up in my feed by the way my core 6.3 still going strong I did experience an issue with the trigger blew the dust out of it works fine I just used mine now is this backup screw gun so I keep that messed up core battery with it I talked to someone from Bosch and they said as long as the battery you're fine that it's just the battery gauge one green light blew out in the strip does not affect the performance of the battery I said I said the batteries out of warranty but it works use it till the wheels fall off great customer service bosch had 😂 I use my gdx18 v1800c and it's got enough power for me
