@@firstname3657 Hi, Sunny. I don't know much about the VE pumps, but it seems like I saw somewhere that there is an adjustment to be made. You would simply be allowing a little more diesel to be supplied to each injector. Now that could cause some smoking because timing of the injection and air intake amounts are also factors. If you have injectors with adjustable "timing" springs you may be able to loosen those up just a fraction of a turn instead of trying to adjust the all-important pump. Search my channel for the Farmall International 706 video in which I talk about this adjustment in the injectors. I hope this helps.
@@firstname3657 yes it can. Larger plunger, higher lift cam, larger/cut delivery valves to name a few. There are more methods but they should be handled by injection shop, these should be as well but are not detrimental to the pump as long as they are installed correctly as they are not adjustable. After any changes to the injection pump it should always be tested for proper operation before use.

Wish i'd found this one first, so do you have a similar video for the VE EDC pump ? It is a dark art that some keep to themselves and understanding the principles helps diagnose problems. My Range Rover has been off the road for a month, I now feel it is ingress of air into the pump caused the non start. a BMW engine almost hides the pump. My problems all started after engine getting very hot at test station.
