Good video but would like to see you service it. I mean a full service. How long can these CX line motors go before they really require a service? Why is Bosch not selling spare parts and barrings?
I can only see one entry which water can penetrate and that’s around the crankshaft maybe once out of warranty best I get some water proof grease and seal it from the inside
13:40 What is the theory on the torque sensor device there, it looks like it would only sense rpms. I realize there is a motherboard to do some analysis with the data, but how is it sensing rider input level force, rather than just rpm to send to the motherboard?
Great video ! When the engine must be disansambled ? Please share with us the online store where we can find spare parts for Cx gen 4. Thank you very much !
If you are doing it yourself, take the affected bearings out and measure them with engineering calipers, and buy new ones from a bearing company,NOT e bay or amazon as they are cheap chinese rubbish
thanks for posting this video. I have ridden my 2019 TREK Powerfly LT 9.7+ through too much mud and dirt, are there shops in northern California you can recommend to do a motor rebuild? I don't have the tools, time or expertise. TIA
Thanks for the video. I actually disassembled my engine and the circuit board got wet. Do you know where I can get spare parts? I have already asked Bosch and other dealers, but the spare parts only go to dealers.
My Bosch Gen 3 Performance Line CX has done 12,500km and has never been disassembled since manufacture the bike is now six years old. So as long as you don't ride the bike underwater or use a pressure washer or a hose jet stream when cleaning the bike. The sould last just as long as my motor.
Be careful tearing these units down as parts are very difficult to get to repair yourself. My Gen 4 was noisy so I disassembled in hopes it was an easy repair. I intended to get bearings and seals but did not realize I couldn't source them anywhere. Put it back together and took the motor to a dealer and was forced to but a new one. 18 month old eMTB with about 300 miles on it. Very disappointed with Bosch and their support or lack of.
@@PaulShutts. He could get one if he took it to dealer instead of trying himself. Now he probably screwed something else up. Also Im not sure if noise alone is enough for a free service warranty .
Those new China bosch is rubbish, I wont get another ebike I guess ever especialy from this brand 4 sure never again, mine starts and shows for 2 sec an empty batery flickering once even though is full, and after shuts down as doesn't connect...and has only a little over 8000km...very dissapointing!🤮🤬
Garbage. They make new units every year, and it’s from Germany, you have to order every part, if you can even get anything for that unit. Get a Rocky Mountain. Twice the torque, which means twice the traction, and the whole setup is super simple, a toddler could rebuild it with their plastic tool set they got for their 1st birthday.
