I made a mistake, I didn't have the depth stop all the way down, so this saw will cut a full 2 inches without the track. And on the track it will cut 1 7/8. Thanks to MisterRitter for pointing this out. My bad.
I also love my strong arm saw, I can confirm the dedicated track saw is easier to use with the track. Less to mess with when plunging, and easier to set the depth. The draw back, as I said, is cutting depth. But it's a well built saw, with plenty of power. Advantages to a smaller blade, less blade deflection, better run time as well.

Reached out to BOSCH to know about its blade and for an unexplainable reason the blade is NOT available here!!! I could import it from the US but would be very very very costy!!! Despite seems a good tool but with its uncommon 140mm blade I don't see a vantage over the lovely GKS 18V-68 GC 184mm!! For the blade reason this tool was wiped out of my wish list. this is a track saw and most track saws are 5 1/2" inches (140mm). The GKS18-68GC has a bigger blade, more depth of cut and the blades are available but it's not the same. You can use a track on the 68GC but it's not got the same functionality as a dedicated track saw. A circular saw like the 68GC will give you faster deeper cuts but the GKT18v-20 /GKT18v-52 is more better suited for long straight cuts. For everything else I agree, the circular saw is best
Why they still only make these for Lefties, I'll never know. The Strongarm Left Blade I had High Hopes for... but it's not going to have the Plunge system. And I agree with the 5½" being ridiculous. I put a lot of hope in Bosch, and hyped them up like mad... however, the people in the boardroom of the Bosch NA Market are dragging Bosch down hard. Bosch could be the best tool brand in the US. But they sadly only seem to focus on Concrete, and laser levels. 😢😢
Thanks for sharing. Beneficial information about the saw and its practical function. Just wondering, though; is the miter track plate sold in that length? I mean, it would be kinda tricky to transport over a long distance, I would think. But if the miter track is sold in small pieces that can be attached, that would be helpful. Cheers!

You are correct, after messing around with it, I didn't have the depth stop all the way down. It will cut just over 2 inches without the track. I'm not perfect, and am the first to admit it. I still wish bosch used a 6 1/2 inch blade.
@@tooltipswithtommy Agreed. I went with it because it was a great deal here, and their track system is fantastic, but losing the extra half inch of cutting depth is a tough blow. Also the fact that the Bosch made blades for it are basically the only thing you can put on it sucks. Can grab a 6-1/2" finishing blade for $20, while the Bosch 5-1/2 finishing blade is close to $100
Its for carpenters that rip countertops 1 1/2 thick at 90degrees but wouldn’t rip 45 degree bevel 1 1/2, 😂 just buy the mafel track saw and the bosch tracks❤ i love that saw it makes me money
I have every Bosch 12v and 18v tools but will not be buying this track saw. Going to buy the Milwaukee instead. There are too many lacking features on this saw. And this weird blade size is a bummer too. The Makita and the Milwaukee take a 6 1/2 blade, that I could anywhere for cheaper than the Boschs 5 1/2 . Real bummer, also it has no anti tip function. I really don’t get how Bosch can drop the ball so bad on this saw.
