Want to point out, when Roxas is telling Xemnas that he's not as good as winning over people's hearts as he thinks, he's DIRECTLY pointing his Oblivion Keyblade at Saix. This is pretty much foreshadowing the revelation through the reports that Saix was the one who told Vexen his plan to atone for the past. It's easy to miss because Xemnas doesn't dwell on it for very long, just sort of shrugging it off since they're already in the middle of the war and everything, but I really noticed it on every subsequent playthrough, Roxas already caught on to the game Saix was playing. That "Holy" attack that Xion does is actually the Final Limit she used in her final boss fight in 358/2 Days, and it essentially works like the Days and Re:Coded versions of Roxas's desperation move Magic Hour/Miracle Hour, where instead of shooting a bunch of light orbs at you they fire a bunch of light pillars that randomly spawn around the arena. It's a creative way to both pay homage to those games while also giving her a more unique moveset.
He's pointing it at Xemnas; the camera angle just makes it look like it's directed at Saïx as a subtle reference. Also, Xion's light pillar attack is called Laser Rain (in both Days and KH3 Ultimania).
Fun facts about Holy: it’s the name of the strongest white magic spells in final fantasy. The animation here looks pretty dang close to the animation for Holy in the final fantasy games. Tho most of them show light pillars coming down rather than rising up in final fantasy but there are a couple that have a rising light pillar It’s also the same spell in Re:CoM and the reaction command you can do while defending Minnie in KH2(she also used it in KH Recoded when she got held hostage by Pete and Meleficent)
One thing you missed is that Roxas powers up during the start of the fight, glowing. The game over screen says that Roxas can't take damage during this, but he's actually programmed not to take any damage, regardless of the glow. If you go into a summon with the right timing, you can skip Roxas activating this and he won't be glowing during the fight(until he activates it again, which he can!), but he'll take no damage either way. Lea can take damage but will never die, since he needs to do the cinematic finisher on Saix. If you go into a summon during that, Saïx will still do the animation and end the first phase, even with Axel missing.
Kinode I’m assuming he was intended to be in multiple fights or to activate that mode of his multiple times rather than just being in it the entire time once it’s on
Isa: what’s with you picking up stray puppies? Lea: (Hugging the rest of the KH cast) Shh, I’m protecting them The rest of the KH cast: ( They’re all tougher than him but they like how it makes him feel nice.)
The closure of the 358/2 Days story-line(and a touching one): Roxas and Xion finally becoming their own people again(with the latter getting her present self's heart back from Sora), Saix accepting his defeat, and the Seasalt trio tearfully reuniting with each other, free from the villains' grasp.
That would be awesome if Xion's data fight has her in her armor from Days, but lets her copy the weapons and attacks from the other Organization members.
The sea salt trios reunion has to be the most touching moment in the series for me so happy to see xion return and i hope we get more of her with Lea and Roxas
I like how the sigil of Lea's Keyblade when he hits an enemy is very reminiscent of his chakrams. You also forgot to mention in the first part: For Kairi's Curaga, it's actually green vines forming a heart and her Pearl projectile has a golden aura, contrary to Aqua's and Mickey's whitish-blue, or bluish-white. Axel somewhat has a permanent Second Chance/Once More, where even when struck at 1HP, he won't die. Too powerful, eh? And for Roxas, he automatically enters his "bathed in light" state, turning him fully immune from damage(like he didn't have even a tiny hitbox to be hit with) and wouldn't even stagger from a non-damaging hit. (That is actually listed in one of the tips in the Game Over screen!)
@@TheJaredPunch yeah but it fits her whole character though maybe it could be sorta like Namine where she can only use the abilities of characters connected to sora
What he was hinting at what is that not only did Vexen/Even & Ienzo/Zexion turn to the side of the light but it was a hint that Saix/Isa had helped them with a vessel for Roxas because he secretly wanted to help.
Gonna point out that the black and white thorns that surrounded most of Saix’s attacks are very similar to the “reversal” thorns from Xemnas in Kh2, which suggests that Saix is being controlled during the fight. That and he doesn’t react to anything that’s happening around him during cutscenes until you defeat him.
Am I the only one who hates how Kairi no longer has the stance that was shown in Dream Drop Distance and she just has Soras stance now? It makes her seem less unique
I want to also bring up if you can somehow bring Xions HP to 1 before Saïx goes berserk she will slouch early while Saïx is still fighting and you will no longer be able to lock on to her
Able to transform his previous weapons to a keyblade is mind-blowing. Because in KH, only him and the lingering will can do it not Sora. Sora's transformation keyblade is not cannon in the KH story , its only for the gameplay
Is it safe to say that xion can be as powerful as or even more powerful than sora Cuz maybe if you add memories to her she'll gain abilities from that person from what I see in this fight So she could take sora since she has his powers and saixs if this makes sense
Bio, in the RG cutscene between Vexen and Demyx, the former mentions that "he too wants to atone, but he is part of the chosen ones", meaning that most likely Saix was with the traitors helping the lights getting Roxas back, even if the only hints are him being with group in the ending. After reading M E' comments I wanted to point that out, but I'm not sure myself if Roxas knew and purposedly pointed him out in his speech with Xemnas. Just wanted to write down the evidence for the Saix's theory, even if nothing is conclusive...unless Nomura has stated in other materials so or will state in remid. Also, the data battle has been stated with the current org, I wonder what moves they might give to Data Org Xion. She gets Saix's claymore..maybe other org moves, or moves from Sora/Days?
The thing is, some keyblades are upgraded version of their previous weapons Riku's Way to Dawn is upgrade of Soul Eater Lea/Axel's Flame Liberator is an upgrade of his chakram: Ethereal Flames Heck some Keyblade upgrades into longer/stronger Keyblades. Terra's Earthshaker into End of Earth/Gaia's Bane Aqua's Rainfell into Stormfall. Mickey's Kingdom Key M is a combination forge by Yen Sid (Kingdom Key D and Star Seeker.)
The seasalt trio reunion the BBS trio reunion aqua's return in the realm of light And mlstly the finality of our clash with Goat-Anort As the whole "KH things" only hapen in the last quarter of the game, all those scenes really felt rushed for me and didn't have any emotional impact. Too bad, all those deserved weeeeeeel better than this. Also Saïx really looks like Street Fighter's 5 unchained Necalli like this, I would love him to re-use this form in "our side" in the next games.
I agree with other people here Roxas was hinting at Saix helping them out and helping bring him back. Vexen even whispers about one other person helping them in the Organization. Plus Saix hints at this as well with his convo with Axel.
I love Xions red effects when she attacks, for some reason it looks great with the Kingdom Key. And even though Xemnas says they have darknesses to replace Xion, they don't bring in a replacement, do they?
7:05 _I love the detail of her catching herself so much, it's just so dainty_ Edit with MoM spoils: I also love that low attack, I remember recognizing it during her cutscene when she lunged and swung at Xehanort
I still wish Roxas, Axel, and Xion were fighting XEMNAS rather than Saix. *He's* the one who screwed up their lives so much and practically got away with it.
not to mention the fight A) had zero stakes B) was unfair.... for saïx while aqua and vanitas fight vanitas and the strongest form of xehanort, the seasalt trio.... solo freaking saïx of all people. roxas can and has beaten him on his own.
You kind of missed mentioning that Xion's "fury attack" is (may) a reminiscent of her Limit move from days (which almost looks like KH1/KH2 Ars Arcanum) Anyway, good job as always, really love the breakdown
In the remind DLC we will get more information about Xion how did she come back and so on. 5 days remain guys. *HYPE* Fun Fact: the first time you see/perform Roxas combo is in KH358/2 days only on the final day
It is still more correct to say that the combo is from Kingdom Hearts 2, not Days, since KH2FM came out some 2 years before the release of KH358/2 Days.
@@GiftedOperator The japanese version of KH2 final mix was released 2007 and international version in 2014, 358/2 days the japanese version and international was released in 2009, yeah you are right
7:46 I think this is Explosion, Axel’s Limit Break from Mission Mode in 358/2 Days 7:55 While this reminds me of his desperation move from Kingdom Hearts II Boy did they do Kairi dirty in the base game. Only an ally for about half a fight… Re:Mind made up for that in some ways but I will not forget.
People need to understand that this whole time Sora is inside the chess game, or acting out the chess match the masters are playing against eachother. Sora's piece is the King's Piece, Kairi's the Queen ect.
Can someone explain to me how xion is here???? I’ve played through KH3 twice and doing my third run on critical mode and I still don’t understand how she’s here
I'll probably get that up after Re:Mind! I didn't have enough time to sit down and really work on that one and I would rather put it on hold than rush out a breakdown!
I think I forgot to add this up but when Roxas mentions the ppl that helped him and said "And others too" when pointed his Key, he's referring to Saïx since he too helped the Guardians behind the Org. Backs/worked with the traitors
I just started playing the ventus story of BBS and I notice isa’s battle style is backhand just like ventus. Perhaps since Ven beat Lea using his iconic backhand that’s why Isa could beat Lea in a one on one.
It apparently happened when Sora/Roxas caller her by name. Why we didn't see Xion heart inside Sora enter inside the replica? I don't know. Maybe they forgot?
What if Xion’s data fight will have her steal attack from you during it? 👀 like just being able to mimic a single attack from each form, it’d probably mean one keyblade is vastly better to use than the others huh? 🙉
what kind of 3d modelling is needed? while I am pretty good at hard surface modelling like props and stuff, my character work leaves much to be desired
I hope we can do the Saïx fight as Roxas since they fought in Days and even though Roxas won, I always felt cheated that Saïx somehow didn't fade away during that fight although it did seem like be did. So I feel like it would be cool to fight and then actually defeat Saïx with him.
@@soul6733 I know, but back before KH2 or Chain of Memories when we learned that killed members have darkness surround them it looked as if that was what happened to killed Organization members. So I always felt cheated out of his death when he collapsed.
@@OneRandomVictory I knew that Axel and Sora (also Axel and Marluxia) fought, but didn't know they did that as I just figured Axel held back (haven't actually played CoM, the combat bores me and I lose interest easily, but I figured Axel didn't want to kill Sora just slow him down. Whereas Saïx at that point as least seemed to give it his all, which is why I figured he would die. Although they did that again with Axel in Days when he collapsed after fighting Xion and bringing her back to their castle. I just assumed he was healed in time since he was in the castle and they wanted Xion so they were keeping tabs on her and Axel should they return.
