Got the vd based on this...saving some$$$. I'm not hard on my gear, and the plastic on the Behringer is pretty solid.

@@RyanLutton yeah, I like the dark sound with electric. I've maxed it to 600ms, which is just long enough for most things. Very different to my Fishman AFX delay. I like both for different reasons. The casing is solid imo, and weight not overly light with the metal plate at the bottom. Internals are really well put together. You don't need to be on a budget for this one, it's just plain good.

Boss has more low end and is not as bright in its repeats. The fuzziness of the boss kind of adds to its vibe. The custom mode is a bonus too because sometimes you want a little more clarity and the extra brightness is useful. Both pedals are very cool though, behringer sounds great.

You're crazy. I had two behringer pedals, and the two of them broke, I didn't even get them out of the house. One was an easy repair, since only one of the cables soldered to the battery clip broke. The other one... well I didn't even bother, the on/off switch on the circuit stopped working altogether. If you can avoid them, do it.

Behringer always loses points for putting the 9v input right where I want to put my 90 degree patch cable. Other than that, they're great pedals, usually sound just like the boss pedals they're aping.

The DM-2W is amazing! It's my everyday go-to delay pedal. I keep mine on the "C" setting. The switchable mode to extend the delay time makes it a winner.

@@johnjinglehymerschmidt1984 the Behringer is alright. It has a very short delay time in comparison to the DM-2W. I had the Behringer early on and I ditched it because if this. They need to extend the delay time range.

Boss has longer delay and expression pedal control for the rate knob. The Behringer is iirc AKSHYUALLY a DM3, is pretty sweet (owned one), and a solid choice. Had many plastic Behringers, never had an issue with the cases. In all likelihood, the Boss runs Behringer chips now - because they were the only ones willing to reissue them.

I think with these guys it's an issue of build, if you're a touring musician I'd suggest the Boss.. but if you're just looking for an analog delay sound the Behringer will get you there
@darwinsaye

I have seen differing information online about what the VD400 uses for delay. Some sites say it’s a CoolAudio V3205 bucket brigade, others say its a PT2399 digital chip. I have seen pictures of both in different VD400s. The PT2399 is a perfectly decent delay chip, but it’s massively inconsistent and misleading for a single delay pedal model to use digital chips in some and BBDs in others.

Behringer pedals are amazing if you don't fear the plastic case, many people give negative opinions just for that detail avoiding the sound quality. I have many Behringer pedals and works very well for me and now I'm trying get some pedals from Vintage series. That series are the only pedals that have a metal enclosure, the most of them has been discontinued, but the VT999 Monster Tube Overdrive still available, I'm actually looking a Vintage Time Machine and they are really hard to find, seem like nobody wants sells these pedals. And maybe I'll have to purchace the VT999 online.

There is not 155 € difference...im happy that i found out Behringer. Cz perhaps i would've spend my kidney for pedalboard. Now im gonna buy chorus, compressor, delay, eq, overdrive for 140/50...i wanted maxon od dude the maxon cost like this whole setup and its not that much difference. So guys quick tip. If you want (if u have odc) to spend money for ,,good pedals" it's okay. But give a try of these precious things. They do the job. So the only one expensive thing which im going to buy is Revv G8 noise gate. The best noise gate pedal. One Nektar NX-P wah and the pedalboard will be ready to go for 350€ instead 900/1000 bucks. Great Demo dude. Thank u a lot. \m/

If it still does what you like and sounds good to you then I see no reason to sell. Behringer pedal values lie in their sound more so than their monetary values and I cannot see the TC Electronic situation affecting that in a positive direction monetarily, really. According to one video I saw, they have largely preserved many of the Behringer circuits in the newer TC lineup and mostly only changed the enclosures and switches so there's nothing to be gained/lost there sound-wise. I could be wrong, but I don't think that should be the basis of your buy/sell situation at all.
