Hey this is Gary Simonelli from G-ROC Recording and in todays video we will be updating the BOSS GT-1000 to version 3.2 firmware. This video took forever to complete and you can see a different look through out. Any way enjoy. Like always if you have any questions I will try to answer them the best I can. Great update, thanks! I just ordered a GT-1000 literally minutes ago. I've had Boss multi effects since the first ME came out (still have it) and have been using my GT-100 for years. I'm looking forward to more options as a pedalboard, and better direct recording sounds. I'll be subscribing and checking out more!

just started looking into this, does this have what others call scenes or clean/ seamless switching with 'trails' ?

Im sure I read somewhere that using these extra Effect Blocks means your Preset that you create can't be in Stereo , if this is wrong could someone explain why please . The BOSS GT1000 is one of the best Multi Effects units ive owned , ive been playing Guitar since the early 80s and ive seen Heard used owned sold and loved my Guitar Journey and it has given me so much .

Absolutely fantastic! The best GT-1000 updated tutorial on YT! I just got my GT-1000 today and i have a LOT to learn. I am thinking of getter a pair of FRFR speakers. Any suggestions. And if i get those type of speakers what do I set my main outputs to, i.e. record/line, phones, etc?? Thanks again! 👍👍👍

Hey Donny, thanks I'm glad you liked the video. The powered monitor I used was the Turbosound TFX122M-AN 1100W 12 inch 2-way Flashline Series Stage Monitor. The reason I chose that particular speaker is because it has an actual EQ in it. Unlike the others you get at the most is bass and treble controls. I ran the speaker with its volume wide open and the GT was record out. I also used a different IR then what came with it. Hope that helps and thanks again.

I have tried this so many times, mine says update can't be found after I hit the write button (instead of performing the update). Tried different cables and different os, even went and got another gt-1000.

I would have to ask did you unzip the system file and copy it to the GT-1000 root directory? When you connect the unit to your computer and put it in update mode it will look like an external drive. After unzipping the file you will copy the GT-1000_UPA_up.bin to the root of the GT-1000

@@GROCMUSICCO I did. I figured out the issue. When you go to the web page it says works for gt-1000 core, but I figured out core actually has its own page/file. I brought this to bosses attention, it works!

My gt 1000 has no option of pedal board mode, manual mode and memory mode what could be wrong .Did i get a bad unit? can you answer me that please.

Make sure you have the latest firmware and also the latest version of the Boss Tone Studio. The pedal board option was included a few updates ago.

Is the factory reset mandatory ? I have worked on a lot of presets, but do not know how to save and recall them via the computer ;) Great informativ video, thank you !

No. I just did it for my own amusement. It is not required.

Hi 🙋🏻‍♂️ I would like to ask, did updating the software actually delete your presets/patches ? I would like to update mine but I’m afraid that it will delete all my data 😕

The downloads come up on my iMac but don't transfer into my GT 1000 Any ideas

If I'm understanding you correctly you have to mount the GT1000 as if it is a hard drive and manually move the files to it. Hope that helps.

My windows doesnt detect my GT-1000.........

Most likely you have a mismatch of versions installed. The firmware has to match the current tone studio. Also, make sure you don't have a a device issue. If windows isn't seeing the GT-1000 try a different USB cable. I hope some of this helps.

@@GROCMUSICCO Drivers are installed, I can use my GT-1000 as a sound card., when i put it in Update mode, Windows 11 doesnt see it as a DRIVE. Forgot to mention that sorry

I'm not sure I typically don't use that effect. I'm sure you could. There's many ways you could set it up to work the way you need it to. I guess if you gave me more detail on what you wanted it to do I could make a video for it.
