I have to say: Your demos on the GT-1000 are second to none. Your insight and pointers on how to tweak it and get incredible tones are so refreshing! Thank you Paul!
This tone is amazing. It obviously depends on what you are running sounds through. I have downloaded a lot of sounds that sound nothing like they do in the videos. This sound is PERFECT. I am running my GTK into a Headrush FRFR112 speaker. This sound is so very close to Neal Schon's sound. I love it Thank you
@@TheStudioRats Hello, is this the best universal solution at the moment for different genres with good effects and realistic response up to 1000 euros? Or hotone 2 / helix is better?
Hi Paul, hope you are doing well. I've been playing guitar for a number of years. I’ve owned Fender, Marshalls, Mesa Boogies, Hugh & Ketner amplifiers, but over the past 6yrs, I've been using modelers just because as you say, they are much more practical in a ‘’live’’ situation. I still own my Mesa Boogies simply because I have yet to find that tone modelers can’t really give me in ‘’live’’ situation. They either don’t cut through the mix, or simply ‘’whimp-out/crap-out’’ on the low E string which really annoys me. I've owned the Helix and the Headrush, and purchased many many patches for both which cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Up to that point, my search for that specific tone continued (especially for the higher gain material we do - classic rock). About two months ago, I saw your video on the Boss GT1000 show-casing your ‘’Ultimate Preset’’. When I heard it, I thought, wow, this is exactly what I’m looking for (that growl). Now all the other patches I heard on-line for the Helix and Headrush also sounded good, but extremely disappointing when I purchased and tried to use ‘’live’’. I took the chance, when out and bought the GT1000 so I could download your free ‘’Ultimate Preset’’. Wow, wow, wow is all I can say. That patch is exactly what I’ve been looking for all this time. The search is over. I absolutely love it for all the material we do. For lighter gain material, I simply roll back my volume knob and it absolutely sound amazing through the mix. Thank you so much. I’ve since sold my Helix and Headrush units. I was just listening to your video where you compare the Axe FX and your Matchless amp. You got me; I was sure source #1 was the amplifier. Having said that, have you got a clean patch for the Boss GT1000 that sounds like the one you have for the Axe FX unit? Thanks.
High Andre, thanks for your message. The GT doesn’t sound like the Axe I’m afraid although it’s really good. There is a free patch bank on our website under downloads it might be worth trying that.

Sometimes I look at my GT-1000 and I almost get overwhelmed with the options. This is my first multi-effects board. My background is having the stomp boxes I want on a pedal board with the philosophy of keeping it as simple as possible. Paired with the really hot DiMarzio Super 3 in my Strat, and I'm ready to rock. The GT-1000 is fun to play with, but 2 years on and I'm still learning. I'm curious. I've connected my iPad Pro to the GT-1000 and also a PC or even my MacBook Pro. Does anyone feel that one or the other is a superior way to manage settings? I feel that managing settings via the board itself is more clunky than I prefer.
Thanks for the great tips. I just received my GT Core and loaded the patch. In general, I’m getting a lot of high end fizz that I’ve not experienced before. I’m listening through ATH-M50x headphones and playing a Strandberg Bodin. Have you run into this with any of your guitars? Any tips on how I can tame it. There seems to be more going on than just cutting highs.
Yes, gate is on. I cut down to 8k on the eq4 block and that helped a lot. I guess I just never heard all that extra frequency in the same way before. It sounds really good. No IR’s needed, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks again for the informative videos!
Hello, My question is regarding the gt1000 core but could be the same for all the gt line. I love the gt1000 core, but I also use a chain of boss pedals (my original setup) that I love as well and dont want to lose. One of the main differences being, I dont need an amp for the gt 1000 core. I just run to FOH. Is there a way to feed my pedal chain (5 boss pedals including a special wah pedal) into the gt core, without coloring the chain in any way, until I need to? Not sure how I need to do this. Should I use them inline, into a clean patch? Should I use the pedals in effects loops? I am just unsure how to use my old setup through the GT. I was thinking maybe running my wah pedal, in (1) effects loop, and the other pedals in through the (2) effects loop, or should I run all directly to input of gt1000 via some unprocessed (Clean) patch. Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated!
