Interesting hearing that Nucky was a big tough imposing man after the scene where Gyp calls him a 'breadstick in a bow tie' 😂😂

@@leviclark3822 whilst what uve said is true... It doesn't take away from my point at all. I simply shared an observation from one of the best scenes, in a great series. Pointing out that such a great line line like 'breadstick in a bow tie', wouldn't of even been used if the character was more similar in build to the real life person he's based on. So basically uve just made a wise ass comment but exposed you're indeed a dumb twat.

@@leviclark3822, Yeah but Nucky Thompson was a real person & really did run Atlantic City!! Now I’m sure that they changed quite a few thing’s on the show BoardWalk Empire, but Nucky was based off of a real person who did a lot of the thing’s they have on the show!! Also they had so many more real characters on the show like Al Capone & Lucky Luciano, great show & a look back at American History💯

All the old bosses were. We were much better off when we allowed the graft to benefit bosses and parties rather than corporations- back then $1mil might go to the community and $100,000 to the boss and his cronies. Now the politicians still get paid but $1mil goes to their corporate backers with $10,000 going to them personally and maybe the other $90,000 coming back to us little people.

Boardwalk is true to an extent. For instance, Luciano and Lansky did work for Rothstein at one time. Nucky was a corrupt politician that got kick backs from casinos, brothels, bars, etc. Capone and Torrio did feud with O'Banion. The events with the fictional characters around these guys are made up to make the journey to the real-life events more interesting.

What a charactor. Hes no bad guy, a ducker and diver. I bet he was more honest in a deal, done on a handshake than a lot of so called respectable tyoes. That fella alloweed Atlantic City to live its live until its current lease of. Life as gambling mecca and entertainment centre that fed clothed and housed all its sons and daughters. From its time as a quick city getaway by the sea with a great entertainment centre courtesy of the "commador" the back room boys, and Nucky Johnson. Who also fed and clothed the generations of people aurvived to this day in their hundreds of thousands! That really means something and is a real achievement tgat should have a memorial in the town. Regardless of their personality, the good transend those limitations.

Most politicians today couldn't begin to tie the shoelaces of people like "Nucky" Johnson. Yes, he gamed the system. The world is corrupt - the only thing you leave is the things you do for others, especially those in need, when you are alive. And just a fashion note, Flossie Osbeck Johnson portrays more class and style in her most casual of photos than any of these so called "divas" of today. These so called "women in entertainment" today would do well to take a page from her "outfit of the day"!
