Man, really gunna miss Marcus’ IQ on defense. Gunna be rooting for him in Memphis. He’s just the right kind of guy to fix the culture down there. Thanks for everything you did in Boston.
I was at this game. Boston was losing since the tip off…. The excitement just being down 7 on a big run was outrageous. I’ve called Horford “Big Shot Al” ever since this game.
Elijah Mikaelson It's a love/hate relationship with Smart. He is awful at shooting but crazy on defense or he's Curry one night. Never know what he's gonna do.
He's a much better playmaker this year too. I'm generally not a fan of Box Plus Minus, but it's really the only stat that captures his impact; he's the longest tenured Celtics and commands the defense so well on top of his own pressure. If he can finally get over whatever mental hurdle is holding his shooting back, the Celtics automatically become the best team in the league.
Lol. These fouls are hilarious! Anyone notice the Houston bench? You would think they would go crazy at the calls but instead they are all like "aw man, damn it Harden"
Tajais Jeffers lol what? If they knew it was a flop, the bench would've went crazy. But since it was just Harden making a bone headed decision, they knew not to overreact.
It was a 50/50 call obviously Harden made contact but hey if youre trying to see the refs give away a game with 10 seconds left then enjoy yourself. Hope you feel the same during playoffs lol
First faul was sold out by Smart. And it was smart, since Smart had a good defensive stance. But 2nd situation was 100% Harden's fault. Anyone would knew, that, after 1 situation, refs will give a closer look on contact and still he acted the most stupid way possible.
Harden was definitely playing with too much emotion. That was not what a MVP leading player should have done. He could have totally drawn Smart away and let EG catch the inbound.
Now THAT may be a reasonable assessment. Or faked into him and spun to go 270 degrees across the other way when smart was trying to draw him in. Still it was a dumb call in both cases since smart wrapped him up illegally at the beginning of the first incident...and threw his leg in front of him on the second.
@@sounddoctorin The first one I may agree, but the second one Harden ran straight into him. Did Smart flop? Yeah, he probably wouldn’t have fell if he tried to stay up, but he was intelligent and played up the foul so it gets called
1st one was a give or take. If Harden puts weight into it, he is gonna get called. 2nd one, Marcus Smart planted his feet so Harden shouldn’t have kept forcing it.
It should be that once you are on the way being pushed back and u are moving, you cannot suddenly plant and stiffen up. Even if you do, if you fall coz of that, it should be a flop.
Matthew Dowling no, I’m a Celtics fan. And I can tell u with pure honesty that our team wasn’t a title contender then, and isn’t one now, and won’t be one in the foreseeable future.
damm sucks to see my rockets lose 26 point lead. James harden has been known for flopping so even if smart was flopping harden got taste of his won medicine
we lost 15point 4th quarter lead to hawks 2 years ago so it happen before. Now 26 point lead that started at 8 min mark of 2nd and went to the 6 min mark of 3rd from their rockets coasted and pay the price. No excuses with 2 refs bullshit that harden crying over and we had 26 point lead plus refs bailed him out in 2nd quarter couple times.
Arco Pattiwael nah, he told him to stick to the opponent and quickly change to the opposite direction to lose marcus so that he can get the pass .. It's a very basic method..
K Yates well it never would have came down to that of they never blew the lead. Once celtics struck in close distance with 7 minutes left aint gonna stop that. The chokes on Houston
I actually had to go somewhere in the middle of the 3rd quarter thinking it was over when I saw celts we’re down by 22, Jesus Christ I missed a helluva game down the stretch
gawd saw this live I usually end up sleeping watching NBA because I always lay down watching but damn this game kept my eyes open. If i remember correctly they were down real hard this game and made a comeback. I was literally standing the final minutes of the game
This game was crazy. They only had two referees in a national televised game and the bench warmers of the Celtics brought them in this game. Then Marcus Smart happened 😂
This was so awesome! I will also never forget this game! Harden showed how emotionally shallow he is. I have seen people posting saying Smart took dives, but physically it would be impossible to throw himself through the air backwards when getting pushed and shoved. You could tell he had gotten under Harden's skin after the Horford bucket; now I am sure Smart was no angel during the two incidents, but clearly Harden came unglued. We will miss Marcus Smart, I hope he does well going forward.
Nothing better than seeing James hardens face as he gets those fouls but flop or not that shit was an offensive foul both times!😂 bout time! what a choke artist
Look closely at Harden face and body language at 3:51. He is purposely waiting on Smart to stick him, he even leans into him. For what reason??? Why wait for smart to collapse when he could have just got open to get the ball or one of his teammates?
Harden needs to chill with the pushing and start running to get open like c'mon bruh you have Marcus smart on you what do you expect when you push off of him multiple times in a row I was heated last night
@@JessePinkman08 fr. Kyrie doesn’t go down they beat the cavs. Cp3 doesn’t go down rockets beat the warriors. So this finals was definitely possible. Would’ve been really fun.
For trying to move with a guy throwing a block and flop. lol. brilliant..lol..you deserve the soup line you'll probably be standing in with that kind of perception. lol
oh yeah a guy who has the best triple double in history...really needs the refs. uhuh. yeha. THE PROBLEM with basketball is the refs can literally DICTATE. THere's always contact that can be turned into a foul if needed pretty much or something that looks marginally close enough. When refs get into it like that it becomes a stupid game to watch.
speaking of stupid plays, if you include probably 10 seconds before this, Harden chucked a long long long 3 with 10+ seconds to go on the clock, which he should've be playing the clock. He was playing hero ball, so he made 3 or more stupid plays down the stretch
I didn't watch the whole game but judging from the crap I saw on the first flop above, I'm thinking *probably* the ref's shunned calling certain things that *artificially lowered* shooting percentages...ahem...
The initial foul on the first one was the ARMS WRAPPING AROUND HARDIN. THat's illegal. YOu can't constrain a player by wrapping your arms around him you dope
Oh yeah surely I'm a 'douch'. why again? You didn't specify. You gave a general comment. HAD the first one been called properly .... ball game over. dope. But FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR MENTAL CONDITION.... The second one he mirrored his body into him as he tried to move around. It's a practiced technique and the second one looked more convincing but STILL he was (watch is feet closely) impeding hardin's path without being set and NOTE how Hardin is turning AWAY but trying to progress in the direction he wanted to move and be ready to catch the ball outside of Smart's grasp. But Smart was impeding AND ACTUALLY PUT HIS RIGHT LEG IN FRONT OF HIM. DIpshit ref. Obviously showing favoritism from the first blatant arm wrap. NOTICE how the ref is warning smart for putting his annoying self in front of Hardin even before the play. I remember playing a 1 on 2 game against Joe a taller guy I'd always beat almost in 1 on 1 (we actually had a double or nothing going after I shot a deep left side jumped he said he'd give me a dollar if I hit...then when I released it he said 'twice'...hhaa...so I shot it again and hit it twice and he side "Double or nothing 1 on 1 to 11". Ok.. well I beat him I think it was 32 games in a a row and you should have seen the geek's victory dance when he finally won. ANyway Dave the other guy was real quick and after I hit the first jump shot he left Joe back in case I got around him but he started doing this same bullshit Smart was doing right there. THrowing his body in front of me and pretending to be set. It was a blocking foul each time but not to him because it would be too humiliating to get beaten by a one eyed guy in 1 on 2. haha. Anyway it just reminded me of that. You HAVE to be set in front of someone's progress for a time. You can't just *appear* in front of them, go stonewall then flop. It's a foul on you but in THIS case the ref's obviously wanted to hand the game to the Celtics...so they bought the flop
yea I didn't specify. so why are you assuming I was talking about that specific call? and why are writing an essay about this, do you have a life or? I don't have time to read through your bullshit
Why was Harden acting like he wasn't fouling him when we can blatantly see that he was. 1st was a blatant elbow & the 2nd one i mean come on you can't run through a fkn guy.
