Most head-cams I see are kind of bland and are only entertaining for the musicianship they display. You seem like you’re always having fun on the field whether it’s talking to guard members at the start of the show, or making funny little Star Wars quotes. You have a perfect mix of fun and crazy good chops during the show. Keep doing what you’re doing, and keep loving the activity as you do! Also I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: the best facial hair in DCI 🤝
I have been learning bari since im a trombonist and I saw this show/solo in person and was honestly amazed and seeing the show inspired me to practice for dci, this solo is so awesome! Progress on baritone has gotten quite good! Your awesome
You are seriously an amazing player. I only hope to wish to get all that double tonguing down especially during that solo. Props to you from another bari/bone player!

You should. Then not only can you play the baritone, you can also play the euphonium, along with having the same fingering as the trumpet, so technically you can play that too. Bari/euphs are the most versatile instrument imo
Yes it was. It changed so much throughout the season with all of the effects. It once had so much processing to where I would have to play almost a whole second ahead of the drum line to make it sound in time! Finals week they took out the majority of the processing and just had some reverb, so the only major effects they had on were the pitch bends, and at the end where they make it sound like an electric guitar. Pretty interesting
All of it was online. Just a bunch of video assignments for playing, marching, and choreo. Pretty much everything they would do at a camp was put into video assignments, but the process was all the same still, if that makes sense
hey, I play baritone too (I am bad) ! I was wondering why do you keep your thumb in that spot compared to under the same tube between the first and second valve? All of my prior instructors would get on me for putting my thumb where you put it but you seem to still have a good C shape in your other fingers so I guess it wouldn’t really matter?
Yeah man, it isn’t a huge difference as long as you can maintain a good hand shape and don’t mess up your playing. I have a bad wrist, so having my thumb there helps me a little more. If your director really wants your thumb in a certain spot, I would listen to him though :)
Yo, bari/euph player here, I just got braces, and am having to completely redo my embouchure. It sucks, because last year, my sophomore year, i got a 1 at state for a solo and an ensemble. Oh well. Gonna have to make the most of it I guess
Sometimes a lot of people will say vocals, sometimes it’s just a few, it depends who it’s helpful towards. Helps to keep up with the count structures in a fun way. For dutting most of the time it’s 1 - 3 members just to keep time for the corps :)
No I actually completely forgot that was part of that head cam haha! We just had a lot of Star Wars references, and it made sense to put “it’s treason then” right before all the chaos happened in part 1
