Brad Delp. How many people have been moved by that great voice? All time favorite of mine.
@tubes5150

You never hear anyone ever say “ Brad Delp “ is / was the best / favorite singer of All Time . Ya know what I mean ?? Anytime you hear that question come up , you hear the same Ol answers : Robert Plant , Bono , Freddie , - the list goes on . If you were to say , Brad Delp , many would immediately say “ Who “??!!!!!!!! Then once you say “ Boston “ , they immediately sit back and go “ Ahhhhhhhhh ….. yeahhhhh ….. That duuuuude “. There is never a debate . No one will challenge you . If they do you just say “ More than a Feeling “. Those vocals are insane !!! Not only did Delp kill it in the studio , but had proven his range LIVE !! I’m in a Boston mood today . Been watching vids all morning . It’s a shame there isn’t more Footage of Brad and the Boys From Boston on here . But I’ll take what I can get . Be nice if there was a few Never Before seen Live performances released soon . Not getting any younger !! Have a great day 🤠🎵🙏❤️ R.I.P. Brad Delp

He's been my favorite for a long time now, I was lucky enough to have got to see him with his Beatle juice band, to this day it was the best live singing performance I have ever seen, I couldn't believe how awesome he sang all those Beatles songs. The fact that Brad did the lead as well as all the backing vocals on the record make it physically impossible to reproduce live, but I think the backing singers here do a remarkably good job at sounding like a bunch of Brad Delps harmonizing with themselves. Excellent performance!

I took my son to see Boston in the late 90s. It was his first concert. I let him bring a friend. They were excited to be in an arena, at a concert, with floor seats. I’m thinking that we were on row 30 something. Anyway, they were great seats. Years later he realized what I had done for him. All of his friends were jealous of him for having seen them live. They still talk about it.

I saw Boston around 77' with Rick Derringer opening. What great musicians! What a voice Mr. Delp had. I was only 18 and I left there thinking Brad Delp was as honored to be playing for us as we were to be there watching them. He gave the impression to me that he was a terrifically caring person that adored his fans. Don't ask me how I knew, I just did. My father too committed suicide and he was the same way.
@HeRacesTheSun
@HeRacesTheSun 9 лет назад
htbud11 I think when a person may be overly caring & giving, then they don't have enough left for themselves to be balanced & healthy, and their personal energy is depleted by many selfish people and it eventually destroys them. But they sure are a great blessing to all when they are here. I saw the great Boston in 78' 87' 95' and 2003.

They pulled it off really well. If you want a better mix - go to the studio recording. It only took them - what?, 4 or 5 or 6 years to do it? We compare a live, one shot recording with no overdubs to the fully mastered studio album mix. What I hear come across here is the full composition, which is great, very much a collaboration of all original band members and a full 110% from all involved here. GREAT JOB Y'ALL! Thanks for the hours of rehearsals and al of their amazing talents. And about Bradley Delp - the rock world will remember his warm and wonderful talent - his generosity and patience and that sensational infinitely appealing voice. If they can even come close again then the spirit of Boston can still live on. I hope we can hear more someday, like a long song we just didn't want to end and Brad was such an important part of the sound. RIP Mr. Delp. I can still wash my car to those records - sun shining on my shoulders on a warm summer day and "I'm on that Road.." so thank you all to Boston - .

I thought the same thing. We all know, well most mature people know, that "Money doesn't buy happiness". We tend to use that Cliche' so often and so glibly that people forget just how much truth there is to it. Here is a guy who had such an incredible gift (an amazing voice that moved people for years) and so much talent (Boston's music has been timeless and I truly don't know a living soul that didn't like the band and love their sound). Brad got to live a dream lifestyle for many years and I'd wager anyone who met him up until the day he died who upon meeting him and finding out he was the "Voice of Boston" would not have been enthralled. It is such a sad thing to come to grips with, as we live our daily lives, that so many people walk around this earth of 6 plus Billion people with a giant empty hole inside them that's completely invisible to every other human being and remains so unless they choose to let someone else in. I'm not trying to "preach a sermon" here; however I freely and openly admit that I am a Born-Again Christian man and I a FAR from perfect and, while I believe that empty hole can be filled by a relationship with Jesus Christ, there is also a "loneliness hole" that can also be filled by Christ; BUT, I feel that hole many times in my life. Sometimes to the point of despair and yet I go about my daily life and allow that hole to get bigger and weigh more. Odd how much emptiness" can weigh. I believe that God can fill that hole too but I think the thing that fills it the best is honest relationships with others and the courage and trust to tell someone that it is there. I didn't know Brad Delp and honestly have no idea if the "God shaped hole in his heart was filled or not. But it seems quite apparent that the despair and loneliness hole he had certainly wasn't filled in his life. Such an utter shame too as I would postulate that there are many he know and twice that many who he didn't know who would have happily sat back, listened, and said "I'll be happy to be there for you". Unfortunately, it seems apparent that though MANY would have been honored to "Be there" for him that he didn't tell any of them. If you are reading this now and you have EITHER of these holes in your life, tell someone that you love and trust. I would wager that they would be quite pleased to stand beside you and to help you fill the emptiness of that hole. If you can't think of someone, don't feel like there is anyone you can trust and turn to, I'll raise my hand and say "I'll stand with you. I'll listen and help you fill that emptiness. I CAN and will go away. Don't let loneliness take you captive. This world is full of people who have walked through the Dark Wood and out into the sunshine on the other side. I'll walk through those dark woods with you as I am sure MANY others will as well. Before it's too late, like it has now become for Brad, tell someone, and another if necessary, and another and another. Most people in this world do not get enjoyment from hearing that another is suffering, but they likely won't know if you don't muster the courage to speak, and I know full well that it does take an ENORMOUS amount of courage to say "hey, I am hurting from loneliness." While I am a FIRM Believer in God and his Son Jesus and I will tell you so. But, It's not something I don't and won't ram down someone's throat. As a Christian my job is to hold up the light and show his love. It is not to blame everything on his absence from one's life it is on;y to show his love. Loneliness is defeated by love, the hole is filled with love, and much that ails mankind from the inside out is healed by love.

Jeff Pogue I agree, but you really need to practice being more concise & shorten your sermon. A lot gets lost in the rambling.

I think it had something to do with his band, his band's mastermind, his personal life to do with his former family, fiancee, fiancee's sister, and the boyfriend of Meg. It has a little to do with his oral social of neighbors too.

Jeff Neal was the drummer. Fran Cosmo played guitar and sang backing vocals here while sharing lead vocals on other songs. The left-handed guitarist (in the background behind Tom) is Fran's son Anthony.

I saw a show on the 2003 tour and they were amazing, sound was awesome. Tom came out disguised as a roadie at first, fooled & confused everybody with fake buck teeth and his hair put up under a ball cap, the 'roadie' jumped on stage, band looking startled & confused, then Tom pulls out the teeth & takes the cap off and the audience roared. Of course us guys were staring at the new hot blonde bassist Kimberly, and after the first couple songs Brad says a few words starting with... "I don't know if any of you noticed but we have a new bass player" We all laughed, and later during a break Brad says... "Oh my, look at that beautiful moon" We all turned to enjoy it. It was a magical night, never heard Boston sound better. I've thought about seeing the current Boston with Tommy DeCarlo that I don't really much care for and never go because I figure there is no way it would ever be as good or better than that magical evening with Brad Delp up there, and I figure why not go out on the top with my memories of the best Boston concert I've ever been to...

What an awesome band, we grew up with these guys and never gets old to hear that velvet voice Brad had. He may have had something deep within he did not want to say and was bothering him everyday and took his own life but he cheated us fans of another chance to see and hear this wonderful band and makes me mad but he is in peace and hopefully his family is as well
