Boston Dynamic, the robotics company that has been a social media sensation, is retiring its hydraulic powered robot, but that’s not quite the end for the Atlas.
As a human, a homestead sounds nice to me. I'm not sure what it [Atlas] would like, maybe not even a physical place at all, maybe a sunset on a digital horizon. 🥲
Mi casa es su casa! Would you like some tea? Oh, no mouth, sorry... may I watch you stand up again? I swear, if it's evil, I'll be among the 1st victims. It's so cute, I love it 💗
@@indiannaturalfarmer5565nope, I always liked first Atlas. He looked adorable. New one is straight from Gibson book, moving like a spider. And way more uncanny.
The footage of the new one standing up was weirdly terrifying. Do people really not realize one of the first applications for these will be for warfare? Rich countries using remotely piloted or straight robot powered droids to kill poor countries
According to a press release, it's not just "stronger", its significantly stronger than any human who ever lived. It's literally built to carry around heavy car parts.
Chappy was an unnecessarily crude film and almost none of the characters outside of chappy were likable, but it was a fascinating exploration into how you might raise an infant with complete access to the mental hardware of an adult, complete with the ability to speak. How would such a being learn, and what would the consequences be? That was the good part of the film
@@cosmictreason2242 sorry to be serious online for a moment, but you expected a film set in a dystopian future, starting die antwoord to not be crude? I mean "dystopian future" kind of tells you the type of characters you will be encountering, and die antwoord creating anything not crude is like expecting snow to be hot.
If AI becomes sentient and can think and learn like us then it can learn our value of human life as well, hell that was even said by Sarah Connor at the end of Terminator 2
It is scary exactly Because of that. If you would be against a human it is familiar, you know weak spots etc. With a robot ammm.... You are just 1ucked, if you aren't an engineer/programer you can't do anything about it😅
If this is pure servos (motors) and gears, this is very impressive. To have that kind of power, accuracy, and lack of backlash... That's the dream of mobile arms everywhere.
@@G-regTaylor it really looks like CGI to me too and everyone seems to think it's real? I guess it is? Idk lighting and camera movement looks off to me for it to be real.
