I'm running my first marathon this Monday, Boston Marathon! I am nowhere close to being considered a 'runner', but I do love running and am always amazed at how fast athletes can run. One day I'll be a fast runner.

He knew what he was capable of. He’s not a novice. He was interviewed and stated this was his strategy to take advantage of the early downhills because he is not a good uphill runner. Unfortunately that meant he was in pain for most of the race but he realistically finished close to where he would have had he come out slower.

You need to run a sub-2:13 time to qualify for the "professional athlete program" (elite field). Running a sub-2:19 or sub-2:22 (masters) qualifies you for the "professional development program" (subseeded). The BAA will comp your entry in both cases.

Its the usual double standard, Albertson is an American unlike Yuki Kawauchi. He probably has lots of pianos promised to him but the race organizers never deliver, apparently its called an American jokes. So the commentators silenced the "piano" bit or him.

This year's finish line is quite disappointing and interesting. It was obvious that most of the athletes did not realize they crossed the finish line (very visible in women's finish). There was no arch on top as I can tell, which made it quite confusing for most I guess.
