Do you have an audio-only feed of this that I can subscribe to? I have some constructive feedback, please take it positively. :-) 1. The discussion was interesting but I didn't like the camera work. The second camera wasn't adding anything. 2. There were way too many cuts and changes in camera angles for seemingly no reason. Would've liked to see one camera being used for close-ups with the other for a long shot. 3. These appear to be dynamic mics, which means that the volume falls if the mic moves even 2 cm away from the mouth. Might want to get a stand or a boom arm to fix the mics in place. Audio going up and down is quite distracting - this happens while people are talking. Also Sharin's volume was extremely low throughout (might want to do some volume matching - it's a feature in most pro editing software). 4. The lighting is off. Anuya's face is pretty much invisible because of the harsh sunlight initially. This was fixed from minute 5 onwards, so looks like you guys realised it. 5. Please get pop filters! "Pa" sounds pop throughout. The captions were quite funny. I'm so glad you people discussed non-English books as well. Looking forward to future episodes and would love to listen to this as an audio podcast on my phone. :-)

This is all fantastic, fantastic feedback - we've already realised some of it, and we're working on fixing as much as we can. Please keep it coming :)

Talking about comedy based on Indian Mythology, try a book called 'Breaking the Bow' by Anil Menon and Vandana Singh. It's an anthology book so some stories are good some aren't.

It's really good! And something which was missing from the Indian podcast scene, to be honest! I hope to hear to this in lot many streams-Soundcloud, TuneIn and so on. Here is my constructive criticism though- 1. The witty comments which pop on the screen are really good, but they are way too often. The fewer, the wittier, the better! Those which are not based on witty references are fine though. 2.You guys seem very tired holding a microphone for that long. A stand would serve the purpose well! Hope this becomes a regular because this is amazing!
@BooksonToast

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, the plan is to make it regular, and we'll do our best to incorporate all your suggestions. Watch out for the next episode on Wed :)

love the channel! this is probably a better way to discover new books than strangers giving you strange recommendations. This way, you can listen about the various opinions, people who have already read the books, have, and then decide for yourself. Amazing content!

My only out and out funny book has been Hitchhiker's guide so far , but it does set the bar high . Do bring it up sometime , perhaps under Sci-Fi based ep ? Anyway , nice to see podcast on books :) and looking forward to varied suggestions in other videos. PS - Sidin Vadukut has a blog ?! Came to find Chritsopher Moore's book link , this was lucky break . & nevermind on HHG2G ,read the other comments later.

Hey guys, really glad that you mentioned PL Deshpande! I'm Maharashtrian (and embarrassed to admit that I can't read Marathi very well) and he's the only Marathi author I've read. I also love his plays. I've read Asami Asami and Vyakti ani Valli and seen a lot of his plays. So really happy that you mentioned his work. As far as humorous books go, I really like Patrick Dennis's Aunty Mame - it's adorable. Otherwise I REALLY love books by Nora Ephron, Stephen Fry and Woody Allen!

Pu La Deshpande was Anuya's childhood - Batathyachi Chaal and Sakharam Gatne made her LOL till she cried. Impossible to mention humour without taking his name. He was a great man.

Good morning ladies! Your books reviews and comments are quiet interesting. I watched about 12 episodes back to back yesterday. I am quiet surprised that you have missed on authors like Sartre, Oscar Wilde, Somerset Maugham, Jeffery Archer, to name a few. Also in your philosophy episode, I would have loved to hear references from Tukaram, Kabeer or Bahinabai Chaoudhary. Happy reading!
