It is amazing how much the beer can change. My farmhouse ale got way better over months. I was freaking out when I just brewed my hefeweizen and kegged it. The first 3 or so pours were like it was in the fermenter and yeasty. Absolutely horrible. Fortunately, after wasting a few pints, it was fantastic and looked like it was supposed as well as taste. Never had that much crap at the bottom, but I didn't do a hefeweizen before. Also, I bottle from my keg but I only bottle to give to friends. Great content and cheers!
Wow Glen. Production values are amazing! Real step up from the Beardyman. Great that I do most things the same on bottling day. But need to get a conical fermenter by the looks of it. Going to be a long year till we see you taste this. Happy Christmas.
Thanks for the video Glen and great to see you back. Quick question - what bottling system is that? I have one of the plastic wands and am looking for an upgrade.
for sanitizing the bottles I recommend you to check out a bottle washer. It has some spring mechanism and a reservoir for sanitizer which makes flushing as easy as 3-4 pumping.
Nice video! For my bottles : i rinse them just after use, again after getting the labels off, and then into the dishwasher at sanitizing program! When dry, is store them in boxes and use them like that. Caps, i use straight from the package. Never had an issue… just my way😇
Thanks for sharing Glen - so many steps to remember! Can you programme your machine to output a predefined quantity (i.e. your bottle capacity) into your bottle?
Absolutely, I begin with a recipe and within the app I can specify a volume up to 40L and it will scale the recipe ratio for that volume. I then connect the app with the machine and brew away. When its in the fermenter I then work out how many bottles are required 👍🍻
