The price of "freedom". That you can buy and legally ride a motorcycle only from completing msf courses is so extremely different from other countries, especially european countries where the requirements for getting a motorcycle license is very very significantly higher. In Sweden it usually takes months of practice lessons, theory tests, safety lessons, low speed maneuvering tests, high speed maneuvering tests, motorcycle safety tests etc, to get a motorcycle license while in the US, a complete beginner could legally hop on a Hayabusa after a weekend of msf. It's insane. But that's why people who first ride a motorcycle in the US, like this guy in the video, most are beginners and really aren't that good at riding at all. Because the requirements aren't that high. They have only gotten through what is needed to pass the test. This differs a lot from other countries where riders get their license several tens of hours after practicing. By the time they have gotten their license, they have already gotten decent at riding. In Europe, if you need to put your foot down while going at low speeds like 2-3 mph, you have failed the test. It's generally difficult to pass the test and get your license, but that ensures that those who are out on the road have all gone through that.
@SpecterSeventy2
@SpecterSeventy2 2 года назад
@@jmw8403Isn’t it a small world sometimes, because I actually have family in Göteborg. Is Liseburg still a lot of fun? Lol But, yes it’s comically sad how easy it is in the United States and get a temporary “provisional license” (no road test required yet) and take a Hayabusa for a fast ride. 🤦‍♂️ *big whoop that no passengers or night time riding allowed yet with provisional… and I remember reading about ten years ago, that the US has like over twenty something times the amount of single rider accidents (with no other vehicles involved) compared to the next highest country in the world. Sadly, even though it blows my mind, it’s not hard for me to believe.

@@jmw8403 what your sayings in Europe, is almost identical here in Malaysia…i started with a moped 110cc, which i stall a lot (dad’s bike)…and getting a motorcycle license, you gotta ride in the school compound for hours before the final test exam. Wrong foot drop, you failed. 110cc for years, then change to KLX150 for almost 2 years…and now almost 3 years on an MT07…watching this video, stall on the first gear multiple of times…man, i hope he gets home safe…

The Z650 was the first vehicle I owned. It was an absolute pleasure to ride and gave me some amazing memories over the 7000 miles I owned it for. That slick gearbox, the damn near bullet proof engine, the legendary Kawasaki build quality, and that low down torque.. the only slight mods I added were frame sliders, fork protectors, radiator guard, a taller windshield, and the Kawasaki High (+30mm) Comfort seat. This motorcycle taught me everything I know about riding. Enjoy it, and safe riding!

I feel like I'm one of the only lucky one's who learned to ride before I took the MSF course. Made taking the MSF course a breeze because I was already 6 months into riding and my slow speed skills only improved after that weekend. This was very brave! I was able to learn because my mom put the motorcycle registration under her name, so I was able to still ride and learn with my M1 (she's been riding her whole life). Then she transferred the bike to me once I received my M2. I learned to ride while fiddling around my neighbourhood and driving around the same block for thirty minutes. I'm sure my neighbours hated me hahaha. I was brave enough to hit the actual streets after about 30 minutes and haven't had any major issues since! Seeing how much more confident you were by the end of the ride shows just how easy riding can be! I truly wish I learned to ride when I was younger but I'm also glad to have become a mature and aware driver before hopping on something so dangerous. I try to tell all of my non-rider friends how easy it is, in hopes of encouraging them to learn as well. Nothing beats this hobby man! Keep it up :)

Congrats on the bike! Nice ride, and beautiful scenery in the distance. Looks like you have a really nice place to ride. As an experienced rider, my only advice is, expect other drivers to do the unexpected. Ride safe, and have fun!
