Bought Sight Unseen! Will This Ford F100 RUN and DRIVE 640 miles home? 

Please don't ever stop doing the "Bought sight unseen, Will it make it home?" Series. These are absolutely my favorite.

Great episode, Derek. You make us feel like we're on Power Tour with you all.

I don't think I'll ever get the opportunity to go on Power Tour (including because my mechanical ability is so low I actually make people worse at working on cars just by being nearby), but I can live vicariously through watching these videos!

There's not much that's more satisfying than driving off in your new project before finding all the pros and cons, before making it your own.

You, sir, are definitely one of the most prominent positive figures of the regular guy and gal car community. And that's what I appreciates about ya.

Love the '66 F100! We have one that was my grandpa's and it runs like a top. My son was driving it to school for the last week of his senior year and had a pair of geese take out the windshield and a side window. Can't wait to get glass back in it to cruise around and road farm this summer!

My hubby and I are huge fans!! We live 13 miles from The Rock in Rockingham. We went to see you guys there and looked and looked and walked and walked !! I told my hubby I wasn’t leaving till we met and and your crew ! We finally came to the conclusion that something must have happened to have kept you from making it. We love watching your channel and I bet I could tear down an engine all by myself. Of course my hubby has subjected me to years of car shows!He is building a 1973 Ford F350 dump truck into a Rat Rod. Just went and bought a 1979 f250 lariat 460 sight unseen and drove it 12 hours home. I watched probably 10 of these videos in a row for inspiration before making the trip

I feel like I've just been on a summer road trip with the Vicegripgarage crew. Amazing the quality content being delivered day after day. I think you should name the new f100 Dumpside as she keeps on dumping you at the side of the road .

This reminds me of some of the rally’s I had as a kid. I was so focused on breakdowns I failed to enjoy the ride and scenery. We always made it through, but we didn’t know that then. Money was always an issue. What’s great about these videos is that you will be able to see them when your old and broken like I am now. I know I sure enjoy them! Thank You!.

It was great to vicariously be on the trip with you all. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Does that make me weird? I owned a 66' F100 in the 90s. Mine had the 240 6 cyl. It had the "flow through" rear main seal so I couldn't park it uphill but other than that it was fine unit. If I was forced to park it uphill, it would look like a 73' Harley had parked there. Some wonderful memories in that truck! Thanks Derek and crew!!

Gotta say, that 66 ford has a ton of potential! Good find👍 maybe if you add more chrome it will get you home? Or is it chrome don’t get you home? I’m not sure, but either way enjoy the power tour!

The carburetor adventure was hilarious! As an employee of AutoZone I've come to the conclusion that all the parts stores have that one person... some worse than others and it makes dealing with them a bear especially when you get the guy with absolutely no car knowledge...

My Dad had the same '66 Ford F-100 with a straight 6 and "3 on the tree". I was born in '66 and learn to drive in that truck around the backroads of southern Georgia in '77 or '78. Very cool having 66 Ford and Chevy.

Imma ride my vice grip garage vehicle everywhere, proudly smiling everywhere I go, with my vice grip garage cap on , and even though I'm dreaming , hey who knows anything is possible with vice grip...

Its such a blast working on these old things and heading home with them. Especially when they break down a few times on the way. Then you get to make more will it run videos. Its really neato when that happens

1st truck I ever drove was 66 f100 black with a stick. Dad repainted it. Had a white grill. He had camper mirrors on his and it had a 300 Inline 6. Thanks for bringing back so many memories

My dad was a Ford guy and he had a 1970 Ford f100 that he drove from Idaho to Georgia to California to Oklahoma on many occasions watching this video reminded me of him working on his truck on the side of the road just to make it to the next destination keep.of the good videos love the content

Good find! It's just like my '66 F100, only I still have the 352 and the 3 speed is still on the column. That's a well optioned truck, all the chrome, Custom Cab, AM radio, factory V8. It can be hard to find one so well equipped. Great video, you got me wanting to take my '66 on HRPT!

I live in rural WI and your comment on getting off the highways is so true. It's convenient but it's a blast to drive through all the small towns across the midwest.
