Generators and dogs barking, sounds like something we'd say. Yet this campground we will use and have several times. Hate to advertise it but it's only $10 if you have a Lifetime Senior Pass. We have a 2022 Travato with Lithium, so we don't need any hookups but at least these have water. Even though we sleep with a loud fan running, we still normally avoid campgrounds. This one however is very quiet, and the host seem to be on top of things when it comes to quiet times. In terms of campgrounds, these have some of the most privacy and distance from each space. Quiet a few have shade at some point during the day with a few that have some all day. We have family in Boulder City and even though their neighborhood HOA isn't that strict, our family is weird about how long we park at their house. Gives us a nice getaway when visiting and we love this area.

In 1956 Russ the Lake dropped near that low, then climbed back up. 1983 is when it went over the spillway. Lake Havasu is where Los Angeles has its intake like Vegas does, I guess that's why they keep Havasu so full. Colorado River Aqueduct starts there. You ever go look at the lakes on the other side of the water lines out of Havasu Russ? Get in a campsite next to someone who doesn't know how to build a fire without smoking everyone out.

I don’t know where you are but if you do head down to Laughlin and Bullhead City, take a look around Searchlight. However, it is a notorious speed trap. Because of the rains, I am not sure you can go over Christmas Tree Pass. It’s on the map and there are pictographs to see in the area. Once you finish the dirt road ride, it will put you on the road for Laughlin.

@@GratefulOverlander Hold on, he said he needed to get his van worked on in Henderson and he was at Lake Mead in his video. He also mentions going down to Bullhead City on his next video. I was just mentioning interesting points along the way. Is this an old video and he’s someplace else? And, to anyone making the same trip, most out-of-town visitors would enjoy Christmas Tree Pass. That and making a side trip to Oatman, Arizona (watch out for the wild donkeys). That and possibly going to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. To get there you take the exit in Williams. Williams has a place called “The Bakery” right across the street from a Mexican Restaurant that has the best Pie anyplace. Well worth the stop. Also in the evenings, Williams closes off the Main Street to reenact old Cowboy gun fights.

Re millions of gallons going to vegas: Nevada is only allotted 4% of the Colorodo, and WE DON'T EVEN USE ALL OF THAT!!! ...remember Clark county recycles 99 percent of INDOOR water (unlike California cities). It goes right back into Lake Mead. 40% of the water we take is indoor use. Most of the colorodo goes to farms in imperial and riverside counties and Arizona. SOURCES: "Southern Nevada Water Authority" and "Colorodo River Compact". P.S. Las Vegas will NEVER "run dry" unless the colorodo essentially dries up. Our intake to Lake Mead is BELOW DEAD POOL. So that means the water hogs won't get their water, leaving plenty left over for Vegas.
@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom
@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom Год назад
Nevada does *NOT* use “millions and millions of gallons of water a day” from Lake Mead. First of all, of the 3 states and Mexico that get water from there, Nevada is allotted the least BY FAR: _Annual water allotment given in acre feet:_ -California: 4.4 million acre feet of water allotted per year. _(usually exceeds the amount of water they are allowed to take)_ -Arizona: 2.8 million acre feet of water allotted per year. _(frequently, but not always, exceeds the amount of water they are allowed to take)_ -Mexico: Mexico and America have a treaty stating that America must ensure that Mexico gets *at least* 1.5 million acre feet of water allotted per year to Mexico. _(Mexico is entitled to go over the 1.5 million allotted, as the treaty states America must provide AT LEAST 1.5 million acre feet of water, so Mexico’s allotment is actually 1.5 million or more acre feet of water)_ -Nevada: 300 *THOUSAND* (NOT millions) acre feet of water allotted. _(Never goes over the amount of water it is allotted, typically has extra water to spare, which California usually ends up getting)_ Also note that Nevada (Las Vegas) recycles water used in homes, treats it and redistributes it back to homes & some of the Las Vegas strip is provided water by an underground aquifer and doesn’t take or affect water in the Lake at all. *Note: an acre foot of water equals approximately 325,000 gallons of water,* and Nevada uses less than 300,000 gallons of water from the lake a day, NOT “millions and millions of gallons” as you stated. By contrast, California uses approximately 4 millions gallons of water a day, Arizona uses around 2.5 million gallons a day and Mexico used around 1.2 million gallons of water a day.
