Just got back into skating last week, been 4 times in the past 5 days 😂😂😂 such a great workout, it’s fun, and it’s helping keep me away from the alcohol addiction I just quit about two weeks ago. Never thought I’d find something that I really enjoyed doing sober and I’m so glad I finally have.
I couldn't skate as a kid, but I learned with my son at the age of 45. I've been practicing ever since. I'm a little embarrassed at some times but I keep trying.
@@anitacampos5657 just use wrist guards. They make a huge difference because they are your first line of defense and they also keep you from breaking your wrist when you do a simple fall. ( we all do) just take it slowly and don’t rush it and you’ll get better without knowing it
I was a skier and an ice skater from age 15 - 30, now I’m 75 and I really want to have a go at this! Am I mad, YES! But I love the music too. Thanks for the vlog. Jo in France 🇫🇷
Go for ittt!! There's a lady in South Africa who started running at 78. Another Woman aged 60 in America started surfing!! You're never too old... You can only ever be too young 😊😊
Damn you’re a good teacher. I’m a beginner and was able to keep up with everything until the zero. I’m still having a little trouble staying in one spot while I dribble but it’s this definitely helped! Now instead of moving several feet I’m moving one or less!
Picked up roller skating, to help me out of my midlife crisis/depression. Threw out my back a couple months ago, and got lazy. Might be time to put them back on. Thanks for the motivation!
Look into a derby league. So many say " Derby saved my soul". It's helping many friends in late 30s early 40s who are going thru the midlife crisis. I hope you back is feeling better 💓
I love watching skate videos and skated in my teens. It makes me SO HAPPY to see young and older alike coming together for fun. As a bonus, we look around us rather than at our phones. 🌸🐝
I am going to buy some skates tomorrow and get back at it. I am 50 now and haven't skated in years. I am going to look at all your videos to get back in the groove.
Do it. I started back about 1 year ago! I am 77 and I have never been happier or felt better and I am getting to be a dam good skater again! Song from Elyria, Ohio.
Do it! I'm 64 and started again last July. Had to relearn all over but I'm getting after it. Muscles are getting hard, over all balance improving and I feel like I've dropped years in age. Crazy!
My skating days were some of the best days of my life! Skate 3/roller kingdom! Thx to my family that got me there n scooped us up! Gray pull over fleece jackets, pinball,n bad ass arcade games. Oh yeah, and the hot skate guards😍😍😍 And kissing booths, and dance contests etc.
I'm doomed couldn't get it with just socks on. Skates should be programmable put them on set the style, crazy legs, walking, zero and flawlessly do that thing🤯❤👍🏾" NMGF" NO MORE GOOFY FEET😭
That was a great lesson. Thank you! I picked up roller skates last July after nearly 50 years. Just trying to improve on what I know and learn new skills. I liked the way you broke it down. Great teaching!
Im a yr late but so glad i found this video. Im new to skating and i learn how to do this in less than an hr. Roll bounce, roll skate i found to be the perfect song to practice this on
It good to see roller skating is still going strong, thanks to people like you...I miss rolling but the old knees had enough. Keep em rolleeeennnn🛼🛼🛼🛼🛼🛼🛼
Hey bud. Been inline skating since I was 12 aggressive skated the entire time. My wife started quad skating originally in FL. After moving up here to NH she inlined. My daughter is now skating. We all got quads back in April. Love quad skating and flowing with the music. Appreciate these videos.
I'm an ol skool skater from the 80s. Had both knees replaced last year and am getting back to it. I went to the mall lot today. I'm so happy you broke the dribble down. I see how the stoppers hinder. Taking them off. Gonna learn this dribble. Can't wait to master it. Thanks.
I used to skate indoors back in the day, we had a local rink that I ended up working at as a skate guard. If anyone hasn't heard of that, we had whistles and had skaters leave the floor if they were too rowdy for the crowd, like the penalty box in hockey. Thanks for the video, new subscriber as of today, and I'll be watching more of your videos.
I truly enjoyed the breakdown of the Dribble. I am a old timer. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. I skated with the Empire Crew "Brooklyn" to name a few The Iconic Bill Butler, Pretty Tony Jiggaboo Vinzerelli, Pat The Cat, I just wanted to pay homage to these Iconic Skaters that Inspired me.
Me too! I’m 60. We used to have adult night at the rink. Some of the best memories of my life include those nights as well as group skating around the French Quarter. I still have my quads (yes with big ol’ front stoppers!) and plan to make some modifications or get some new ones!
I loved to skate. I did it for a long time when I was younger. I watch the vids of people skating and it makes me want to do it again. It’s an expression of who you are and it made me feel so free. Unfortunately I have bad problems and I wouldn’t dare try to skate again by myself. I love your vids!
I’ve been rollerblading for 33 years and JUST switched to quads, been out 3 days and I’m so happy how much my skill has transferred. I’m excited to start dancing on skates, the whole reason I switched! I’ll be practicing with your videos❤thanks hun!
For real? And you got both your sons in it? ..you are a good father period end. You and your wife rock!!! You two found that balance and I'd bet that each son is free with their own choice of career while your wife is that one woman balancing her own career to match... Love this fam with that GRAND FATHER!!
Thank God the algorithm recommended this to me! Instant subscription. Also ya'll are equal parts wholesome and awe inspiring, can't wait to learn more from you
My whole family skates in LA.. they are smooth with it!!! I only rollerblade though 😩 but I admire their talents with skating especially while dancing. It’s a site to see and truly inspiring. This video reminds me of my family
Great awareness to point out that something new is "simple", primarily for those who are familiar with the process. Something new requires different amounts of energy and time to grasp depending on the individual. I feel "simple" is a word that is often misused, and misleading when not used in the proper context. Emphasis on energy and time differences will allow for the learner to grasp and appreciate the process. Thank you for sharing your energy and time
I appreciate you showing how that pivot is done. I used to skate when I was a young man and I won one two-step contest in my area many years ago. I was one of those cats in the middle of the rink solo boogying, but never really mastered the pivot. I was okay at it, but never looked real smooth.
You guys are off the Hook, I've been Skating with a Close crew [KnightRaveN Rollers, from Victoria B.C. Canada] for 4 decades now, and we are still learning new Styles... Pushing it to the Limit. Toe Stops... I Haven't used those in years.
It's so fun that you do this as a family! My mom just got some skates and then I got some so we could skate together. Great video! Can't wait to show my mom this channel and practice together :)
Glad to see roller skating making a comeback. Don't call it a comeback? Yes more side and back views when teaching us. Such a joy to see your sons involved Diamond, I love that they fidget and add flavor to the moves taught by dear old DAD! Awesome sauce! A family affair! Dribble, Dribble.
I'm going to comment before I even watch it anymore at 2:27 I was hit with a huge thought that I had to share before I went any further you are an excellent teacher. And I am certain this will apply for the rest of your life to any single thing that you love and want to teach❤ and thank you so much it is a delightful gift to share for we all love to learn but a teacher that realizes what you inherently do is exceptional and can change lives please don't underestimate what I'm saying it truly is a special gift 🥰💝
Love the video. Back in the day I used skate. On Sundays we go to the skate ring. We skate until our mothers came. Thn it was time go home. I stopped skating in my late fifties. Because of my health. I missed skating but it was time put up my skates. I will be watching your videos.
As a kid into a teen I skated every weekend. I haven't skated in 20 plus years. I tried skating again but I can't even stand on skates now. I'm glad this came up on my fyp I will watch your videos and try again. I really thought once a skater always a skater. Welll.....not me.
I like your teaching method by going slow and breaking it down. I don’t have skates and we don’t have a facility here but I watch Sparkle sometimes and it looks so fun.
Oh so this channel FIRE fire huh? Oh we on.. I did blades as a kid and always thought only old people and lames did skates but I got me a pair of skates and been getting into jam and MAAAAAN. This stuff is slick af. Keep it up big homie. You got you a sub on this one.
Glad to see roller skating making a comeback. Don't call it a comeback? 🎶 Yes more side and back views when teaching us. Such a joy to see your sons involved Diamond, I love that they fidget and add flavor to the moves taught by dear old DAD! Awesome sauce! A family affair! 🎶 Dribble, Dribble.
I was taught how to skate by a man on San Diego Pacific beach boardwalk in 1977, I was 19 I’m almost 65 and I still skate. We don’t have a rink, it’s all outdoors. I’ve asked to be buried in my skates ❤ skate till ya die. He was a beautiful chocolate man, if your still out there John, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Took my 11 year old skating last night! I don't think I've been to a roller skating rink in 20+ years! 🤔🤔🤔 It took a few laps and I hung in there lol. I was able to show him some basic tricks I did black in the day. 😉 He was amazed I could skate backwards. But yes. Everyone keep skating! Great exercise and a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends!
I did the same thing with my Lil Person a year ago and she was amazed I can skate backwards too! I showed her the basics and she took to it Very Quickly!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
WOW you guys are brilliant, great easy explanation and understanding. Thank you that I can translate the great video into German. send many greetings and hugs from germany Chrissy 💯🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂💋💋💋💋💋
Man, I wish I could find lessons in my city. I called two rinks and emailed the roller derby team: no one. RU-vid is helping, but nothing like in-person lessons. Nice video.
Thank y’all SO much for making this video. I started skating in the 60’s as a wee-bitty girl on the sidewalk in front of my grandma’s house, in metal adjustable strap-on skates. I think if I brace and pad up, maybe I could do this… 😆 The fear of not having stoppers makes me really nervous
Usually I learn on my own as you can only learn through practicing and discovering things this time I watched the tutorial till the very end and kind of get it will need to try it 🙂 Thank you for sharing 🧡😊
This is so cool! I love the way you broke it down into steps, but I can tell it will be easier to include the turn on the beat. I’ll be removing the toe stops on my skates for sure! Josh & Gio good job🙌🏻
Some of the best and easy to understand tutorials! I will say that it is a lot easier for me to understand in skates other than black, i just can’t see the movements and combinations well in your black skates. On this one I paid more attention to Geos skates. I might just need to upgrade my prescription though lol. - Thank you for sharing your helpful videos! Great stuff y’all
