Hi Austin, what do you mean by erroring constantly? My girlfriend just got me this for Christmas I have no idea how to use it and the instructions are limited. The grounds not frozen and I did go over to and old school this afternoon and found a 62 silver quarter in mint shape and some sixties dimes within the first 15 minutes. However, the pinpoint work sometimes and other times it just stopped. Is that what you mean? I could use any help it would be willing to offer. Thanks!

@@Jayson90210 Yes, the PP button doesn't work correctly. Mine even gives an E3 error. I've read that you can install a bi-pass switch to replace it but I'm not going to. Just buy a Garrett PP and learn to work without the one on the Hunter. You really don't need it. First thing you should do is bury some coins of different sizes, gold and silver rings etc. Practice learning what numbers come up for each one. Saved me a lot of digging junk. Don't forget headphone. Saves on battery life and they help a lot. OH, and remember GOLD shows up in the low 20's. I've finally been finding 14k rings now. Most of all be patient and have fun! It's not a good coin machine . Used it for 1 hour and the pin point went out. It's a noisy machine with Alot of chatter

+Hellbent70 Robertson Start with the sensitivity lower and discrimination higher when first starting out and slowly back off the discrimination and increase the sensitivity as you learn it. HH and good luck!

It will work on dry sand beach or fresh water beach. Not wet salt sand or saltwater. I'd use the stock 11" dd coil on the beach for coverage. It will do fine on gold rings and coins. Small gold jewelry, chains, and prospecting not recommended. It's not tuned for small gold.

I've found everything BUT gold so I took a gold ring out and buried it in sand around 5" deep. Remember gold is hard to detect past that unless it's big. The ring was a 14k white gold wedding band with diamonds. Not very big. It grunted with mid tones bouncing from 20 - 35. Detected it on top of the sand and had a solid mid tone strong on 20 - 24, still would jump up to 30 if I lifted the coil around 5 to 6 inches. I should have done this a long time ago! Great machine! Use it more than my Garrett AT MAX.

detectingMO Its pretty awesome for coin hunting even without the high tone. It goes fairly deep and has great speed and accuracy. It is deadly on nickels too. I cant remember if you got one or not. If not we could meet somewhere and you could try it if you want.

DirtFishing Sure, it will have to be a couple weekends out. Maybe labor day weekend meet at kemper or something. too bad you couldn't combine the performance of the g2/f19 with the feature set of the LRP! Its a bit slower in recovery and weaker on nickels than g2 that's for sure. I'll have to play around with more on a longer hunt.
