I have the same machine. How are you getting those depths of 6-8 inches? Your battery is even low. I'm only getting around 4 inches on a quarter. I'd be lucky in 5 inches of wet soil.
True story. I had in a seperate test garden made years ago with a silver Kennedy half 67 date with with a very rusty square nail and a rusty bottle cap and a pull tab around it. Most machine would hit on it until about 15 yrs had passed. I went to recover it as I was building a deck over it and none of my machines would find it. Then I thought about my cz6a with 8" coil as a last resort. Freakin' hit it just if I had just burried it. Now in trash the cz6a or cz20 go with me. Sometimes old school is the best,Wayne
Man my old cz-3d found me alot more gold than my excalibur 2 and my equinox . Bought a cz7a last year for 75 euro came with 2 coils 😂 under rated detectors also got the cz-20 for snorkling with the 8 inch coil .

When the pin pointer can signal before you dig, You need to make it much easier on yourself. Flip it out with a blunt screw driver. I went 30+ years without a PP.
I just got the At Max a week ago and was also disappointed with the constant chatter. So I purchased the 6x11”viper coil and the chatter is cut in half and found a diamond ring at our local high school yesterday.
You should never run the sensitivity all the way up on a bounty hunter I have one and it goes batshit nuts if you turn it all the way up I usually run it around 5 to 7 on the meter. Get the sensitivity down everything tends to not hit on every stupid thing there is even when there's nothing there
I'm glad I got the Vista x from backwoods metal detectors what you can't do with this machine you can with the Vista x without half the learning curve or adjustments that some work some don't
Best setting for mojave,I found it behaves better if you keep the discrim in the yellow. And sensitivity between 4/5. Finds tiny objests this machine. Found a single air rifle pellet,at about 8 inches yesterday. Finding lots of bronze age artifacts with it,much deeper than that,with the discrim at foil. Great machine. Just needed a pinpoint,all metal non motion switch,on this model to help with deeper targets.

Not too impressed by the audio on the AT Max. I've lost count of the number of times I could tell the difference between a clad and sliver quarter, as well as other commonly found items, on machines like the Equinox and Whites DFX that have proportional and tone roll audio. It's too valuable to do without. I was considering the Garrett AT Max, but if it's limited to just blunt beep sounds, no thanks. I think even the AT Pro can handle this.
I purchased a new F22 and it wouldn't detect a quarter AT ALL at a mere 6 inches, so I returned it immediately. (All modes, full sensitivity.) Before I did the soil test I did an air test and got about 3 or 4 inches less than someone on another RU-vid video. Quality control issue, I suppose.

I would on all honesty say buy a Golden Mask detector, the gm1+ but there are there heavy guys in the range that cost 1/4 of the other machines you have , that can't compare,, just buy one ,, what do you have to lose Mon Ami,, 😎
What software version are you using? Volume in menu set volume level. i hunt at 4-5 in public places to keep it quiet. You may have to update unit at place purchased.@@lucio277
I've heard this machine is pretty stable in higher emi settings,maybe it has decent or really great frequency shifts?and is very good in iron. If all true this is the machine I'm leaning towards, my main hunting grounds are residential and I love eeking out the deep old indians and silvers. For the price this one looks to be the winner.
