Their improvement that year was very evident. I wonder why it stalled for them afterwards.

gk891 they switched to Dubova whom seemed stuck in her ways and not evolving with the sport. Imagine if B and K had stayed training with Klimova and Ponomarenko instead of Dubova?

@@abrahamlora329 did they ever say something why didn't they stay with Klimova and Ponomarenko?

@@MsRumex I once read in an interview with Tatiana Tarasova that K&P were often tied up with skating in ice shows and professional competitions and so that's why B&K made the move to Dubova shortly after the 1995 Worlds. And yeah, Dubova was a sinking ship at that time so that move probably didn't help them in the long run. They had also considered moving to Martin Skotnicki at one point if I remember correctly.

@@gk891 too bad they did not move to Martin Skotnicky (he has a great ideas and his teams did stand out among others)

@@MsRumex He had finished coaching Rahkamo & Kokko at around that time and I think his next high profile pupils were Winkler & Lohse but they didn't become a top ranked team until 1998. Moving to Skotnicki probably would've been better for them in the long run because, as you mentioned, he often has a lot of interesting ideas.
