Was thinking of your channel today while me and my dad drove by a range when I asked him if we could go He said yes soon I'm so happy first time at the range Edit: mí inglés
This one day during my adolescence I was out with my friends shooting our BB guns. One of my friends produced a .22 LR rimfire round from his pocket. Like the budding genius I was I decided I would lay the round on the railroad tracks, and try and set it off with a BB strike from my rifle. I got in position with the muzzle of my BB gun about an inch from the round. I looked up and said "should I do this?" The general consensus of the group was it doesn't really matter because it won't work. I go "fair enough", pull the trigger, and CRAAACK. Not only did the round discharge on the very first shot, but it turned around, entered my cheek, and broke 2 of my teeth. Evidently the lack of barrel caused under-pressure, and slowed the round down enough to save my stupid life. All these years later you can barely see the scar, but being one of the few men alive who successfully shot themselves in the face with a .22 LR round using only a Daisy BB gun is mine to claim forever....
My dad had a similar situation...he wedged a 22 round into a barn post, shot it with a BB gun (he claims from 10 yards), the round went off and lodged itself into his left hand. Another 2 inches higher and it would have been right in his eye
I went to home depot and bought 100 pounds of fertilizer, then stopped at the gas station and bought some diesel fuel. RIP to you all. But its ok. As long as you werent killed by a semi automatic assualt gun.... you can only be killed by assault guns. Fact.
So did Weird Al Yankovic!@Zack Ceasar He took out a guy with a Machine gun at point blank range! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9SW7-8C8kL4.html
A friend was a deputy for the Caldwell County Sheriff's department for 19 years. He told me once they went on a domestic call and an arrow stuck in to the side of the house, 2 inches from his head. The suspect was in full camo hiding in the treeline of the woods behind the house. He kept flinging arrows at them and they couldn't tell where he was. He eventually ran out of arrows and no one was hurt. I can't imagine how terrifying it would be to take fire from an invisible enemy firing a nearly inaudible weapon.
And another thing about arrows and bolts is that the kevlar vest isn't going to help you. Actually it may end up getting you more harmed as the arrow/bolt shaft actually gets stuck into the kevlar.
@@demanischaffer Well, less deadly than walking into a walmart and buying freaking firearms, nobody caring, thinking it's necessary for personal safety while knowing to be in the best country of the world although not having owned a passport ever and therefore not having a personal opinion about the rest of the world that thinks it's just crazy. But who am I to judge since I emigrated into my parent's birth country when I was young and therefore not having actual experience and only know things said in the news and on the internet and being taken for granted knowledge on videos meant for US citizen. I'd like to come one day to see for myself how wrong I (hopefully) was.
I was actually reading a story just today about a guy who just died after a month in hospital here in England after being shot by a crossbow. He was fixing an aerial on a ladder and they have no idea who is responsible. But you know, don't let me stop us being the whipping boys of this channel!
Is NOT being able to pronounce French names the end of the world, son?? Heck, NO! Those Fiddledumms in French France over there in WW2 weren't worth the pronunciation that may have been worth remembering as of course they never could decide which side they were on anyway, right, son?
@@kohoko1952 They were forced onto the allied side by the Germans invading them, and dismissing 72 million people hardly seems right. I hope you're just joking, cause yeah they sure do suck at fighting, but please, this could be taken the wrong way, and next thing ya know, somebody's taken out a bow and shot ya with an extra-thin baguette.
@nopethanks4444tf you talking about? I spent a good time of my youth living in a trailer park, but that doesn't mean I don't know who is and who isn't white trailer trash. It's not discriminating, it's DESCRIBING
Did you watch the video, he just listed a load of crimes that used a crossbow. And if you mean a normal bow, i.e. a compound, recurve or longbow, then the answer is, you don't see crimes with them because unlike a gun you can't really hold it loaded, it takes a while to load, and isn't easily hidden. Which makes it a pretty bad choice to commit crimes with, particularly when you can easily get a gun.
Brometheus no lie I got a massive scar on my nose cuz I asked someone to “pass me the shovel” and he threw it full force into my nose (like right above it between the eyes), and that’s what he said to me...
Same here; though I've never been in a situation where I was in reasonable danger of being shot, so it's entirely possible my opinion would change if I had been.
All depends, hydrostatic shock from super sonic bullets will always do more damage than a through and through piercing shot from a bolt or arrow. That's why shot placement with arrows is so critical.
@@maxnaz47 true but what if it’s not through and through or it goes in between your ribs or something and is incredibly hard to get out because it could be a broad head or something I think that would be more lethal although I don’t know much about bows
@@ladyathenaofowls swords are on the offensive weapons list and aren't allowed in the UK except for some stuff that's old and I think katana decoration I think
Quick story: My brother was at a bow and arrow shop getting new limbs for his recurve bow when some dude starts to break into his truck. He asks the store owner if he can borrow the bow for a minute, walks outside (his car was parked across the street), and the guy takes off running before he could get the door open. So not quite a crime being committed by a bow, but a crime being prevented.
A neighbor girl and I were playing with an arrow we took the tip out of when we were 7. We were shooting at each other and she sadly got hit in the head near the temple. she got stitches too. I felt like shit for years after that. The shit bored Indiana kids do.
There was another bow and arrow case in Australia where two guys were having an argument for weeks that escalated into one of them hiding in a bush in the driveway and shooting his "friend" in the chest. It was a field point not a broadhead and It just missed his heart and he survived
Funny coincidence, Donut: I am an Alabama cop and I too have been shot with a compound bow. I was at my brother's house watching the South Carolina vs Clemson game back in 2012. Alcohol was involved. We decided to test my brother's new bow during halftime. Long story short: Brother thought it would be funny to fire an arrow with no tip in my general direction while I was recovering the arrows already sent downrange. I too have a small scar in the small of my back from the experience. Love the content. Stay safe, Donut.
Way back in elementary school my buddy told me of all the mischief he would get into with bb guns. Shooting cars passing by? Funny. Shooting street lights? Funny. Shooting a cat through the hips while it was pooping? That one seriously keeps me awake at night sometimes. Thats isnt a joke. He told me how it meowed out in pain as it crawled away on its two front paws. He admitted he didnt feel good about it but I'm still really upset at him even of I haven't spoken to him in about 14 years
in Driver's Ed class in high school we learned about a guy who got road rage and shot some guy with a crossbow and to this day that is still in the back of my mind glad you're doing the content you like to do as well, it shows - i've been enjoying all the recent vids
You get much larger wound channels with certain arrow heads. Especially if your crossbow can shoot at the 300fps , it can cut flaps in the heart tissue of game like big heavy bucks they're scary
I have a 28 pound recurve bow and let me tell you that thing can get the arrow about halfway into your typical sand or rice bag. I don't want to think about how skin gives up a lot less resistance when it comes to getting damaged than a sand bag. No wonder they use them for cover in combat situations because even a bullet can't get all too deep into those things.
"Usually when homeless people chase other people around with a machete the police come" Haha, not in Boulder. You just have to defend yourself here. Just kidding "guns r bad" so you just have to rely on the kindness of methheads.
True story: My good buddy does life insurance investigations and one of his cases a few years ago was of a possible suicide where a man was found in his bed with a arrow in his chest and another arrow through his neck and out the back! There was a bow, not a crossbow, but the good old fashioned bow laying on the floor at the foot of his bed. Apparently, the man pulled the bow back with his feet and held the arrow with his toes(?), and twice at that?! Florida btw
My neighbors had a dog that would get loose and was vicious. I told them I would kill the dog if he were in my yard again. They called the police and said I threatened to shoot their dog, I told him I most certainly did do that. He said it's illegal to shoot a gun in city limits. I said ok, I got a bow and plenty of broadheads. He went back and told them if the dog is in my yard it dies. A week later another neighbor did the deed.
OMG DONUT ITS UR FIRST VIDEO FOR THE COUNTY IM IN OMG u think u could find anything else? I know there was a cop who opened fire at the bellingham bus stop in whatcom county cuz a guy was tryna stab people
@@OpRaven-62 well I mean I initially threw fruit, as to potential ward them off and feed them simultaneously. But that created a mess. So the sling shot was the only humane answer. Armed with a bag of dried fava beans, and my Daisy, I will rid my back alley of vagrancy.
if my wife ever shoots me in the back of my head, i can't tell the police it was just an "accident" it's an *175lbs* crossbow good thing is, i have NO WIFE
for the sake of no crimes have ever been recorded, its weird how i get remarks like im always up to no good just for having a unstrung bow and a dozen arrows in my trunk.. good to see arcehrs have class and crossbowmen are still ...trash
I hit like before even getting done with it. Respect donut 🍩.and first one to comment that was the first one i ever was the first to comment on your RU-vid😊
the perpetrator must have been wielding one of those *_scary black tactical assault crossbows_* that I've been hearing about on the news, that attach to your *_scary black AR-15_* Lower. Matter of fact of the perp was a *_scary black_* himself!
@Jimmy De'Souza yes that was specifically what I was referring to, I was excited as balls when it came out. The new Cobra RX although more compact is more intimidating being semi-automatic with the Box magazine, giving it a more _"scary black machine ass-salt rifle gun"_ look instead of the TAC 15 _"scary black sniper rifle"_ look. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P2WhUu15B5E.html
At a WalMart in Omaha back in the 2000's, some dude went into the store, bought a bow and arrow, and shot another dude in the ass in the parking lot after they'd been arguing. I was pretty young when it was on the news, so I'm probably paraphrasing a bit. WalMart doesn't sell bows in Omaha anymore.
