Hey Dave, I really appreciate all the content you provide here on your channel brother. I've learned so much watching your videos. You're doing a great job Sir! 👍
The bit holder uses Collets to hold the bits. Cool video. Been wanting to make one of these drills. Try some paracord. Debur the hole where the string goes through. Some really amazing old examples of these drills on the net.
Great workout. Can you imagine using cactus spines to drill holes in stones? I guess they didn’t have RU-vid so plenty of time on there hands. Nice video. Loved it
People think ancient Egyptians couldn't possibly drill beads without a machine, but this is somewhat how they did it (except they used copper tubes and abrasive) - you could start a series debunking it wasn't aliens, it was just patience and the love of stone :)
You are a man with a LOT of patience! You are one patient cat, man! No way for me, lol 😅 I sure hope you sell the "hand drilled" for 3x the norm! Good luck! Would it have helped more if you used oil instead of just water and sweat on the last stone?
i’m not sure about the Godfather part but it is that type of night for sure it was a gift from one of my very good friends here in youtube world My grandma loves it so much I have to hide it from her sometimes
Dave, Enjoy your trips! Thanks for the videos. Quick question. Can hard wheels be resurfaced? I picked up an old Gem Tec and hard wheels are very well used. Ideas? You like the old machines :-) (me too) Darleen
Hey there Darlene to my knowledge hard wheels cannot be resurfaced however the generics nowadays are really good when it comes to hard wheels you can get a 6 inch hard wheel for well under $100 however the generic soft wheels are still really bad
thanks for watching and thanks for the well wishes my friend. I really appreciate it. You know what’s funny is I have this conversation multiple times a month with different people who have different theories. my friend told me cerium on felt I’ve also heard the same with aluminum on felt I’ve also heard Siri I’m on leather, which doesn’t really make sense to me since there’s a lot of metal in it a lot of Native Americans, that I know that cut the material just use zam much is chrome oxide. I’d say give cerium and felt to try and if you get any good results, please let me know that stone and how to polish it. Completely lied to me I’m just convinced that if somebody really wants to get a good polish they’ll use extra wheels to get it up to somewhat close to 100,000 grit with no polish
