These crossbows are nice. I got one back in 2014, I think, and it is a Barnett BCR recurve crossbow. I have always wanted a compound and I really like these Wicked Ridge ones. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Oh, I can't wait for deer camp to come around. A week back up in God's country away from crowds, noise, cell service, etc. Jerod does have a nice place and we plan to do a little hunting there as well, either some during bow season or muzzleloader season. Thanks for watching and commenting, God Bless. Juddie - J & J TOA
Thanks, Matt. Won't be much longer and we all will be setting in a stand hoping for something big to walk in. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Thanks Dave. It was easier than what I thought it would be. They are great crossbows, at least from my point of view right now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Thanks, Jason. Yes, it is good to have Big Al back with us and getting in practice for the upcoming season. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Jerod is a beast. He may have to pay for those feats of strength when he gets old. LoL Looks like you all are dead on. Great seeing Alvin is ready to go too. Best of luck guys.
I keep telling Jerod that in about 15 to 20 years he will be paying for his feats of strength. LOL I think we are ready for this upcoming season for sure Rick. Good luck to you and your son this season. Juddie - J & J TOA
Dan, the clock is counting down for sure!! Yes, I think we have our BowTech's and these crossbows all set to go. Hoping that Big Al hunts more this year than what he did last year. A lot of things was going on in his life, but now things are looking better. We are all excited to get out on opening day. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Those bucks better not let their guard down this season. You guys are getting ready! Really enjoy all your videos and content, thank you for sharing with us! 🦌
Jonathan, I don't think any of us will have a problem connecting with a deer, other than if we screw up the shot ourselves. I am very impressed with these crossbows and their speed. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Great video guys love that bow range seem like those are good shooting crossbows and where did you get those bow stands at I like those saves laying your bow ons something and possibly get it messed up
Thanks, Tim! We are eventually going to add a few more targets and even plan to put up a treestand at the edge of the field to practice from. We are liking those crossbows more and more; they shoot fast and shoot hard!! I sent you the links on FB messenger to where they can be found, if there in stock. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Great video! Great shooting! No disrespect, but when you shoot the crossbow, use the string/cable to pull it back with. I used my hands on my daughters all the time, until my buddy told me I’ll be more accurate with the string. He was right. Give it a try.... maybe it’s just me. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks, Dmowery. Well, to tell the truth, Jerod did it both ways, with the crank and him just pulling it back. Didn't really see a difference, but with these narrow draws due to shorter limbs I know what your buddy is talking about. Like me using the Accudraw 50, the instructions tell you to get the hooks against the barrel when pulling back, this way it cocks precisely at the same point every time. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Steve, it is going to be hard to leave the crossbow at home, but I think I am going out with the Zion first. If the weather is nasty, then I will take my outhouse blind and take the crossbow. I was telling Jerod the other day, that I am going to try and harvest a deer with the Zion first, then my second deer will be taken with the crossbow. They do shoot fast, that is for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
They are nice Bill. My problem now is to I take my BOWTECH Zion or my Wicked Ridge Invader X4 when I go! LOL. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Newman, they are quiet, and I hope that mine is going to be just a little bit quieter when I add the cable dampeners that I ordered for it. I am still waiting for them to come in. I know you could hear them hit the target, that is louder than what the bow makes when fired. Just trying to figure out what I will hunt with now, but Jerod and I kind of figured out on nice days we will use the BowTech's and on bad rainy days we will use blinds and use the crossbows. At least that is the plan now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Great shooting looks like deer in the freezer this year hope all you guys get a deer be safe out there this year.love all your videos looking forward to hunting videos this year
Thanks, Dennis. Sure hope the cards play out right and that we all can fill a tag this year. Last year was mighty ruff on us. We are only 9 days away, can't wait. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Well, James, so far Jerod hasn't had that problem. But I do understand what your saying about that. Down on the range it was just easier for him to pull it back instead of using the crank. As you can see in the video, he wasn't doing bad at all. I know the instructions for my Accudraw 50 mentions about making sure the hooks are against the barrel before pulling back so it will lock in the same position equally from the cams. As mentioned, either in this video or Jerod's review of the Rampage which will be coming up soon, we aren't strangers to crossbows. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Looks like your bows are ready for the season!! Glad Jerod got his bow back before season started!! How big is your farm or your land where y’all shoot? Enjoy all the videos!!
I think we are ready for sure no matter which bow we are going to hunt with, the BowTech's or the Wicked Ridge. I was also glad that Jerod's bow came back as quick as it did. I will let Jerod answer that question about his farm. I can tell you that it isn't a big farm, but it is just enough to keep you busy. The bow range could easily accommodate a 100-yard bow range!! Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
looking good. i think your ready for the season. wish i was going out, but not in the cards this season. are you looking to just use the cross bow this season? can't wait for your hunting video's. when does your season start? thanks for sharing bud, again appreciate the support you have given me.
Our season here in WV opens on September 24th. I think I may save the crossbow for bad weather when I use my blind. I hate that your going to miss a season, but get yourself taken care of and there will be many more seasons to come! Glad to see you getting videos out! Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Nope, not long now!! You're right about that, but we have options now. I have what is called the outhouse blind, it is more for rifle or shotgun, you can't pull a bow back in it, it would be perfect for those rainy days and a crossbow. The other option is to use our BowTech's to take our first deer, and we always get one extra bow stamp, and use the crossbow for the second deer. Thanks for watching and commenting. Just to let you know you guys are showing field tips when you go to what ever brod head your shooting it will not be the same target your bows with the broad head your shooting the field points and broad head do not hit the same even know it's the same grain
We have field tested this over the years and in most cases you are correct. This is one reason we use and strongly believe in Rage Broad heads. They absolutely do fly just like your field tip.
Exactly what Jerod posted. We have been using Rage 100 grain broadheads for 11 years now. We have used regular 100-grain field points, we have used the 100-grain dummy broadhead range points that come with Rage broadheads, and we have shot the Rage broadheads themselves into self-healing targets and they are fly the same. Now with other broadheads, what you are saying is probably true, but for 11 years the Rage broadheads have never let us down. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Good Lord! That crossbow is absolutely screaming! Bet you don’t have issues with deer jumping the string with that puppy!😲 How fast do they shoot Juddie?
Mike, I will have to get my chronograph out and setup and check to see. the X4 that I have is suppose to launch arrows at 360 fps. The Rampage 360 is suppose to be the same speed, but the Rampage 360 cost more than what the Invader X4 cost. Go figure!! I haven't had the chance to test it out on a deer yet. I did take it hunting a few times last year, just didn't have the opportunity. I really do like my X4!!
@@JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures I’ve been thinking about a chronograph. Not totally sure that it’s within the realm of usability for my needs. I can obviously see why you need one as a reloaded and I’ll have to get one if I decide to reload. What are your feelings? I have to admit that It would be interesting to use it in my bow tests and muzzleloader stuff!
