We all grew up watching Keanu and Lawrence entertain us over the years. I hate we have to get older. I pray these two keep going for many years to come. I love these two brilliant actors.
TO amend the above, WE ascribe one day at a time to work our ways thru the matrix of dimensions. As some films have already shown the irritating trouble of never to die, to live forever, and the angst against ALLthat jazzz. Wasn’t that Winston in part 3 when the high table attacks the continental. Because in part two the Bowery King just gives John a .45 seven million gets you seven rounds.
The John Wick universe is very much inspired by wuxia movies (they even named their assassins radio W.U.X.I.A) and The Bowery King is no exception. The existence of his organization mirrors the Beggars Sect in Jin Yong's wuxia novels, commonly known as the gài bāng or Kai Pang. They appear to have some basis in reality as there are historical records of a clash between beggar gangs over a century ago in China.
I love the fact that I don't see The Matrix while watching John Wick with these two onscreen together again! The crossover of characters is so divided; it's amazing! True character actors! Amazingly well done, IMO🥰
In the show, even some random taxi driver knows who the hell is John Wick. Yet still, some random dude working in the garage thinks he can take him down. It always makes me laugh.
Lawrence Fishburne was perfectly cast for this role. He nailed the presence and cadence of the character. He steals the show every time he's on screen. He's just so damned cool and interesting. You get the feeling that no matter what's going on, he's always got it under control. Even when he took his cuts, you know that it was only because he allowed it to happen. He went from a pawn to being more than a "king". He's a hand on the board. Honestly, it seems like things have become more of a game between the Bowery King and the High Table and everyone else (including Wick) are just pieces on the board. He's one of the most intelligent, resourceful and dangerous characters in the story. Honestly, I'd love to see a movie about him and his rise to power.
People in the John Wick Universe are on iously more durable than people in the real world. John would be wheelchair bound after a couple of cars to the knees. 😄
Keanu has a reputation for being a warm hearted friendly person. It makes sense that they would become real world friends from working together so much.
@@userunknown1578 The Bowery King was in like 5 scenes in JW4. He had that monologue at the beginning, his chat with Winston, his scene where he gives John Wick another suit and the Pit Viper gun, the boat scene with both John and Winston, & the scene at John’s grave at the end. Maybe it was a total of 10-15 minutes of screen time, but it sure wasn’t 30 seconds or a minute like you suggested.
@@userunknown1578 They kinda did. Wick carried out strikes against High Table assets (like the Elder). The Bowery King it appears gave him the intelligence information he needed, weapons, clothing, & transportation to get to and strike such targets. At the same time, he gave Wick safe harbor from the High Table.
I hope they expand the universe with more solo movies, either further stories or backstories. Sofia and her dogs, the Bowery King, Winston (I know there's a TV series coming), Aurelio... Sadly we won't get any more Charon, RIP Lance Reddick.
I liked the character when he first showed up and that he uses pigeons to move the sd cards around. I guess this is the part where they migrated the data from digital to analog to make it harder to intercept.
@@dr.burtgummerfan439 yeah. Makes it harder to hack. They do use digital coz we saw SDs on those pigeons so Bowery King definitely is a vital position since he oversee such transfers.
Well, who doesn't like a good old SD-card? They're small and have a lot of storage capacity, and they're useless without the key to decode them. Samsung Galaxy smartphones always had SD-cards, but the S21 and S22 didn't, which caused a large decrease in sales. Fortunately Samsung learned from their mistakes and the new S23 is provided with that "outdated tech" again...:)

new sub. love that Laurence and Keanu have been friends since the Matrix. Keanu is so good at keeping and making friends that last for years. Loved these two in Matrix franchise and JW franchise. Good actors
John Wick 3 ended with them coming together to take down the Table together... I guess the King had a vacation scheduling conflict when John wanted to go fight... So he couldn't make it.
I may be one of the only people that was a bit disappointed by the final John Wick film. Not in the action, or the final result. But in the scale of the war. This big High Table vs John war was touted for several movies. Then instead of it being an actual war it was just John & 2 guides vs the Table. I wanted to see a return of all the assasins that John had spared throughout his long career. Called upon to fight to repay the debt. Not by way of marker, that's the Tables way, but by way of sparing death. I eanted to see John fighting alongside Common. Alongside the two karambit weilding brithers. Even alongside the Big Show bodyguard that he spared in the 1st John Wick. It all kept getting hinted at. But ultimately the war just scaled back down.
Actually is more than the John Wick franchise is borrowing some ideas from The Matrix or more importantly, of writing workshops, one of the troupes in writing is that the first story you establish the setting and the rules, to then in the sequels you develop and of course destroy the previous status quo, if you want to write a good story you always need to change the status quo one way or another, or give the illusion that one side win over the other, Revolutions and John Wick 4 ends basically the same, Wick killed the target but end "dead", it was a victory over the High Table, but they still rule the underworld.
That Matrix theory makes me wish they had gotten Carrie Ann Moss to play an assassin just to mess with people lol. Even throw in an easter egg that John and Carrie Ann's character dated "a long time ago"....
Well, I really don’t think the John wick universe and the matrix universe are connected story wise. Yes, they’re connected in because the Director was Keanu’s stunt double in the matrix trilogy and Lawrence and Ciano and the Director worked on the matrix.

I think, if they want to do a fifth movie, have the Bowery King/his kingdom be threatened in some way. IF he just faked his death, that would bring him out; add a haircut and some dye, and he could go unnoticed...
I actually, as I predicted on the recording in 2011, life imitating art, I am homeless, this is how the character was thought up, was me thinking of them stealing everything I said on the recording and ignoring my existence. I'm doubtful that the Matrix and John Wick are connected at all. Combining the two just wouldn't make any sense. Not economically, chronologically, or in any other way.
