What happened when food blogger Wil Fulton tried an experiment of eating nothing but breakfast cereal for a week - 82 consecutive bowls? Susan Spencer talks with Fulton about his serial dining on cereal. She also talks with Yale University's Paul Freedman about the history of breakfasts; Dana McNabb, of General Mills, who is bowled over by new varieties of cereal; and registered dietitian Wendy Lopez, who reveals her secret to breakfast smoothies.

I think a possible explanation for the cereal business losing a billion is not “cereal fatigue” but more like people are realizing that the ingredients now in our cereals are added chemicals to add to shelf life, GMO grains, dyes like Red, Yellow that cause ailments, etc. People are wising up to how toxic cereals can be anymore.

This piece is proof that advertisers are in charge of the media and their message. At least the reporter had a healthy alternative for breakfast despite acting like a 6-year-old at the mention of vegetables. Not sure why they allowed Will Fulton to describe the toxic effects the sugar had on his system, but it was the only valuable information in the whole piece!

Having sugar for breakfast probably isn’t the best way to start the day

It's funny how the cereal lady sounds more masculine than the blogger guy.

I'm obsessed with cereal. If I had the chance, I'd probably have at least two bowls a day. It's the only breakfast food that I'll actually eat during breakfast. Or else I'll skip breakfast entirely. I love other breakfast foods too, I just don't eat them during breakfast as weird as that sounds.

Captions would be great - make your stories available to the Deaf and hard of hearing population. Even the auto captions from YT would be good.

The reporter really didn't like vegetables? I'm 24 and grew up eating many growing up. Veggie smoothies with fruit and some chia seeds w/ nonfat greek yogurt maybe some acai 👌🏽

Bacon is not “something everyone can relate to.” Billions of people don’t eat it.

I like how this video is edited in general. You are right though, the journalist is opinionated about her bacon and eggs.. no veggies. And no yogurt, celery, spinach, fruit smoothie in her narrow view. She could've kept (edited) her opinion out of the piece more-so I think.

ntblood Agreed. It’s really hard to watch a story on food when the reporter is wrinkling her nose and saying “eww” a lot.

That smoothie the nutritionist is talking about is great but DOES NOT CONSIST of replacing a meal!! You can have that but your body also needs to digest real food! To the lazy ppl that don't make time to cook bfast before they leave the house, suit yourself. As a teenager I hated bfast, now I MAKE TIME to cook bfast. I'm fuller for the day and not eating/craving junk during the day. Retrained my body to eat a nutritious meal. Happier & energetic me! 😃 🍳🍒

The problem with cereal is 2 reasons. 1) It becomes soggy, and disgusting almost instantly. Basically within 10-15 seconds after the milk is poured. Making it completely inedible. And 2) the milk. Milk is too fattening. The only milk that's good for you is fat-free milk. And fat-free milk is vomitrocious. It's basically water. And who wants to pour water in their cereal? Nobody; yuck! That's why cereal sales are down. They need to make a cereal that doesn't get soggy immediately after touching milk. But a cereal that's not rock hard, and will break your teeth. And they need to make a fat-free milk that isn't absolutely disgusting.
